New Sonic Figures!

Thanks for the support!!!

Okay, let's talk Sonic...

The good news is that the Sonic figures are selling great, thank you!

Especially Werehog, so that opens the door for us to make more new figures.

You guys have great ideas!

I love the idea of Metal Sonic!

I am a huge fan of anything robot!

I will definitely ask Sega Japan and I'll let you know what they say.

So, let me tell you what the plan is right now.

We have about 5 new sculpts and a couple of repaints coming.

One of the characters has never been done before.

The plan is phase out the TI figures with our own.

So that's where we will start.

On the bad news Sega Japan said no to Werehog plush.

Maybe later they will say yes.

Jamaro, you are the man! I really hope Sega Japan gives the OK to Metal Sonic. Always had a soft spot for him. Don't ask why but my guess for the never been done before character is Chaos or Fang the Weasel. Two of my favorites. Will the newer figures be like TI's (with limited articulation), or more like Werehog/Super Posers? That's all the questions for now. I hope to hear back from you.

So jamaro, You do know what the characters for the figures are and are not allowed to release that info. until a later date right? On another note, what figures would you like to see? Like RockSteady said I would like to see Chaos... Two more things, 1.could you see if you guys could make the Chaos Emeralds like TI started to do and 2. Are the new figures going to be Toys 'R' Us exclusive as well?

I know most of the Sonic toys so far have been based off of whatever is new, so the kids can get in good and keep the line alive, however: what do you think of a classic line for folks like myself? Somewhat like the retro-roto figures from Mega Man, ya know? You could do the 'ol Eggpod with the ball on the bottom, a Sonic, and then maybe some various bots. I'm thinking this line would be limited and possibly easy to collect, using the same rotocasting that the retro roto line did.

Or, instead of the above, it would be cool to get little collectable figures (these could be rotocast as well) that would come in multipacks. You could do more of Robotnik's eggpods then, and add all kinda of bots. Along with that, there could be a few versions of Sonic: plain standing, mid-run, mid-jump (with a little clear plastic arc so he could be hitting an eggpod or bot). All these would make it possible to set up tiny dioramas, which I think would be cool for toy setups.

Just some ideas. Does any of that sound possible?

I secondthose ideas. I'd collect those and the other figure line. Hell, I'd collect anything Sonic.

One more thing (I want to get all of my questions out of the way)... Have you seen these new sculpts yet and if so are they better than the TI ones? I hope you guys don't have that paint issue like them, but I am pleased with what I see with the Werehog...

I really like the idea of classic Sonic figures and smaller Badniks (little enemy robots) but I think they will/should keep working on the established "action figure" five inch line with new and classic characters mixed in, and could you imagine a Eggpod or The Tornado plane for the five inch figures? That would be amazing :) I do believe they already have a planned line of mini collectable figures, they could squeeze the Badniks in there. Also a retro-roto line like the old Mega Man line would bee cool too as long as it doesn't replace the five inch line.

Oh I'm totally with you, but I was thinking of the little collectable rotos as a cheap way to see if the interest is there. If these guys sell like hotcakes, then you can move up to full on vehicles for 5 inch figures. If you jumped to the vehicles, I think that would be an expensive gamble, considering that Sonic toys don't really fly off the shelves.

You have a very good point and idea there Alexx, I would defiantly collect all the rotocast figures, I guess the years of wanting a big Eggpod for my collection have gotten the better of me lol. I mean you never encounter Robotnik/Eggman in the series without him being in some type of egg themed creation. My old Eggman figures looks naked just standing there on my "Sonic shelf" ^_^ but I think any new Sonic items will sell well judging by how hard it has been to find most of the Sonic X toys from Toy Island and how much some of them were selling for on Ebay, I think that's a good sign for Jazwares.

I agree, Eggman/Robotnik does look naked without the pod and the sales of the Toy Island figures are a good sign...

I saw a Jazwares Sonic yesterday at TRU (not the werehog). Looks great, though I still stand by the fact that it's hard to put articulation in such thin arms and legs without looking unstable. I can't afford it now, but I'll probably pick up Sonic at one point (since I have absolutly no Sonic product yet) and see how it goes. I really think a Soinc line should be smaller at one point. I wouldn't mind some figures that might go well with Marvel Legends (meaning it would have to be shorter).

It was big? If so it was the re-released Super Poser... Those things are huge compared to the normal 5 inch figures...

Alrighty, I thought I had seen that before. So Jazwares had put those out before, or do they now own molds from whoever was doing Sonic before?

They have the molds from the people who did 'em before (Toy Island)... jazwares drastically improved the paint on it . Here's a link to a page about them (it won't let me upload the photos of them). http://sonicgear.org/USAPages/SuperPosers.html

Thanks! That might be a cool Sonic to have around; I never caught those. Good thing Jazwares re-released them! Good to hear the paint job is improved too.

No problem... I might pick one up soon, Only problem is that there's not a Toys 'R' Us for thirty miles ( the closest one is probably in Albany)...

I saw the Shadow and Sonic at TRU today, and they looked pretty good. I'm going to probably get it later on once I find one with better paint. Shadow looked fine, but the Sonic's paint wasn't too good.

Are the other releases going to be the same scale as the super poseable ones, or a different scale?
