Friday July 27, In Elkin, NC found the following, salesperson says they received all without mailer boxes:
1 - Catra (amazing!)
2 - Sy-Klone
2 - Chief Carnivus
2 - Count Marzo
3 - Faceless One
1 - Skeletor/Molar (awesome set! never saw in person before, $10 is a steal)
I know this can be looked at as a bad move from Matty, but honestly for people like me that have passed on all but about 7 in the line due to the high cost, this is a great way for me to actually get these figures that I otherwise would have passed on. Plus, they are all 2nd printings. The real collector's items are the rare 1st runs, so it doesn't really hurt the collector's market in my opinion. Plus, if Matty would have put these up on their site for $10 Scalpor would have bought all of these and charged his usual high prices. This is bringing back the excitement for me, I am loving it. I know everyone is hating on Molar but I think he is so cool. I could totally see a figure like this in the vintage line. He has some cool weapons and Skeletor's dark green face really sells the set for me. On the bad side, when looking at some of these figures in person, I see why I quit paying $30 bucks for them in the first place. Adora's eyebrow was smeared and at first thought her butt was on the front, haha, also her insert was bent badly. This was the main one I wanted so I will deal with it. When I took Icarius out of the mailer, his hand was twisted around backwards and his arm armor looked very awkward. Faceless One had a bad paint job. Kind of made me think that a bunch of these were customer returns to Matty, but the others were flawless. Best by far have been Man-E, Clawful, Catra, and I wasn't expecting how good Count and Sy-Klone would look in person.
