They all look cool and good looking to me.

Now, let all of the complaints, bitching, nitpicking, and shitpicking from the other forum members begin:

I can hear some of the complaints coming out of members mouths already.

They are probably going to say things like well Bazookas #14 on his shirt is too streched out and he is too bulky lookin'. Or another Storm Shadow repaint enough of him already Hasbro. And Barb B Q a reused Snow Job/Wild Weasel mold and no removable helmet WTF man. Or General Hawk, he looks O.K. but why is he using Dukes head mold. I mean I can go on, on, on , and on about this all day.

By me sayin' those quick complaints I just saved all of you a few post on this topic.

I suppose that people who don't like these aren't entitled to express that viewpoint. How boring would this place be if we gushed over every figure we saw?

This wave is very cool, I too think I can skip Ninja-Ku Storm Shadow. :)

B.A.T.: Wasn't he shown coming with more equipment? Them spore cainster things? Makes no differnece, he's got enough stuff. Love the fact both arms are replaceable.

Barbecue: Hard to tell if the helmetis removable. It LOOKS like that chest harness is, so if it is, there is a change the helmet is as its bigger than the harness hole. Also, is that thing on his left thigh a holster? Again, hard to tell, but I THINK it is and it would a shame if it wasn't since the original had one.

Bazooka: Looks good. I like the equipment upgrades.

Hawk: General Duke?

Storm Shadow: Bleh. What's with the craptastic artwork? Woulda been cool if he, like, came with the gear in the pick (ie. the nunchuks). Who is he supposed to BE anyway?

Snow Serepent: He;'s got those goggles like the Viper, but he doesn't need them.

The only real considerations I have:

One of the major flaws has been the inconsistent articulation. As someone mentioned above, Bazooka's knees. These guys (except Barbecue and Crap Shadow) have the better crotches at least.

The other is more of a nitpick. They've given a lot of these figures holsters, so why not all of them? Hawk, for example, he has that gun on his chest, but the gun is molded in. Or the B.A.T. has the grenades on his torso which could be removable.

did anyone notice they stopped using the foil gi joe logo and that the bubble backs are now yellow? i wonder why that is?

I believe the lack of foil started with wave 8 because they are the first waves that no longer celebrate the 25th Anniversary.

I can't stop looking at these! I've been at it all night. :)

Until this wave, I hadn't realized how many 1985 and 86 (the main cartoon years) figures there are still to do. I think Bazooka really stands out especially with the brand new weapons, I love that thy are new sculpts of the originals. It's things like this that really exemplifies what a great job Hasbro can do. Barbecue looks solid but, yes, the position of his gear makes him look large and in charge.

I can't wait to see Alpine, Airtight, Eels, and pretty much everybody!

I personally don't think Hawk looks like Duke, and am curious about his collar that looks to be removable. He's got good proportions and nice detail on the jacket. This iconic version of the GI Joe teams leader looks flawless.

Snow Serpent and BATS: Yesssss!

International Storm Shadow: Meh, but I know other people get a kick outta him so go for it! Plus that lets one build a cool army of multi colored Storm Shadows! Storm Shadow from around the world! Or at least form here to South America. Lol. Howzabout a Cobra Immortal figure?

i guess didn't notice because we haven't gotten wave 8 yet. but wave 9 is still different than wave 8 because the blister back is yellow. does anyone know why they switched that?

He seems to have let hiself go between RAH and 25th. hehe

It has been almost 25 years, some of us get a little out of shape. :)

Anyone remember how DD originally showed Bazooka in the Reinstated series?

Yup, I do believe this is the case per the big H.

I asked this on another board. What rank is SGL for Bazooka??

EvilStar says...

1.The B.A.T.: This fig's TOTALLY fly! No problems. EvilStar will buy a bunch!

2. Barbecue: Not a fan of the character but a nice fig of it.

3. Bazooka: Dang! This fig sux cuz the character design TOTALLY sux. This looks like the fig of some fat WASP dad getting ready to do yard work. Not the fig's fault. I just always hated Bazooka. Dude! Where the eff is my man, ZAP??? I'll buy a couple of this slob just to complete my investment collections.

4. General Hawk: TOTALLY ROCKS! This might be the BEST figure EVER made in ANY collection! A TOTAL army builder!

5. Another ninja...: PASS! Next...

6. Snow Serpent: Dang! This figure ROCKS DA HOUSE! Totally BOSS! Now my SnowJob and my Winter Coat Snake Eyes (Well when EvilStar gets one...) have someone they can doubleteam and go to town on! Bring it on! Another kick-a$$ army builder!

Yo Joe!

what type of answer are you looking for? do you think that there is some sort of significance and meaning to the yellow as opposed to any other color? I think the answer is pretty obvious -- they just liked the way it looks.

man the figs rock but the card art looks like crap . they look way to cartoonie for me. it looks like they fired the guy from the first few waves

As a collector who opens the figures, it doesn't impact me. I know some of your open your figs and care a great deal about the card art, and some of you are MOC collectors, but for me. It doesn't matter as long as the figures are good.

Another great wave. After seeing Barbecue, I wish Hasbro would start including alternate unmasked heads with the figs, if not removable helmets.

That would be areally good idea. That way too they don't have to worry about removable helmets being gigantic.

Not to be a sceptic or anything but I never thought we'd see all that stuff packaged in with one figure. The BAT has alot of accessories as is without all that battle damaged stuff. As cool as it is I think they cut it out (just my opinion I have nothing to back that up).

However: Battle damaged variant? Could be....

Considering how Hasbro's handled GI Joe to date, and the ruckuss caused by the Timber variant junk, I'm leaning towards a seperate release. I'm pretty sure it won't be put with the Serpentor pack since none of the new accessories were ever featured in the cartoon, and the cartoon colors deserve their own due.

I'm leaning towards a comic pack, maybe a 44.5 with Dr. Mindbender.

On average, this is a solid wave, and I really like the 3 and 3 ratio of new figures (even if a couple are repaints...). But for whatever reason, I really haven't been truely enamored with the wave, and haven't since wave 1 08. Doesn't mean I won't get most of the wave, granted...

Barbecue does look like maybe the Joes finally left him some burgers.

It's both hilarious and just a little said that I didn't even have to think about it to get that joke.

Anyway, I'm liking these figures a lot. The child in me is hoping that Bazooka is actually packing a spring-loaded missile launcher there, and Barbecue just makes me want my favorite hazmat Joe, Airtight, even more. :)

The Stormie repaint was the only one that threw me. At first I thought he was supposed to be a 'ninja training' Snake-Eyes. I think the gold edges on his weapons make them look like they come from a knockoff figure. After realizing that the idea is to milk the mold for some of those nonsensical international variants, I'm a bit more excited about it. Some of those crazy repaints were a lot of fun. I wouldn't mind seeing Cobra Mortal or TNT down the road.
