I'm legitimately psyched about this series. I like the idea of Cobra not being so out in the open and other enemies being given a chance to shine. Cobra should be an intense, deadly threat and when they do appear, it's potentially catastrophic.

I'm liking what I'm hearing so far....but why does GI Joe always have second rate art? The artwork always looks shoddy.....Scarlett looks awful. Why is it no Joe artist can draw a woman correctly?

Sounds good. Let's hope it can maintain that feel for the long haul.

Although one thing does bother me, but it is my own personal bias. I hate when writers talk about how people will die, but it won't be for "effect" or out of the blue. Guess what? In reality soldiers die for no reason other than bad luck sometimes. That is what makes things all the more tragic in war. I feel that can be a "meaningful" death when written into a story .

This sounds like a suped up more detailed modern take on the Marvel stories. I like that.

This sounds like it will make out Cobra to be a more dangerous and deadly threat than ever before. I can't wait to see Cobra Commander. He has got to be awesome now to head up this version of Cobra. Now it sound like Cobra could be a legit threat to the entire planet.

I hope the threats that are not known to be connected to Cobra are headed up by guys like Fire Fly and Headman. Like all the individual and unigue Cobra guys are in a secret inner Cobra circle.

As true as it is that soldiers die regardless of skill or importance, I think that for the sake of good storytelling, people can't just randomly be done in. I like the idea that character deaths will ultimately be relevant, instead of just unecessary 'shock' gestures.

I know I will be hearing that voice when I read any of his lines. There really needs to be something new to base his voice off of.

I think that is a problem everyone has with Cobra Commander usually. That cartoon version had such a strong personality of being a loser that it is hard to see him any other way and the voice was a part of that.

It was fun for the cartoon but he needs to be meaner and alot different from the cartoon CC we all know and love. The only sollution is if he talks more normal in the movie or Resolute so we can hear that voice instead.

See that's where I disagree. You see it as a "shock value" move. I don't. Especially since it would be more realistic than any other style of death. As well, the story usually revolves around the "great sacrifice" of a death, and the truth is that the "random" death is something that really forces storytellers to explore characters.

I don't for one second think that is ever going to happen, but I would really like to see it.

Sorry to any who like him, but I have a well-entrenched opinion that he's one of the most over-rated comic writers in the business... which says quite a lot. I have tried on multiple occasions to get into the things he writes, and every time I wonder how the heck he manages to get work. Most of his stuff doesn't even show the potential to get someone hired at most publishers, let alone allow them to make a career out of it.

I've read two previews of G.I. Joe #0 on a competing toy news site, and I think my doubts have been addressed, if they can keep the writing quality up. And the art works for me, too-- I can tell Hawk from Duke and clearly follow the story, I don't need it to look like Alex Ross or anything...

If you like 80s Marvel or run-of-the-mill Batman stories, you should like Dixon. He's consistent and competent, which is ridiculously rare in main stream comic book writers. To my knowlegde, he's never turned in anything on par with say Miller's work on Dark Knight Returns or Daredevil: Born Again, but who has these days? He's decent, and I like him.

And Duke gets plenty of exposure and sounds cool-- not much more I can ask for, really.
