G.I.Joe 25th Anniversary Series 7 Line-Up

I didn't want to start a new thread about this, in case it is a redundant or obvious question, but would anyone happen to have a list of those figures which are accurate/portrayed in the old G.I. Joe cartoon show? I feel like Hasbro's made a majority of those characters, and I'm not sure who's left. Any help would be appreciated!

I sincerely doubt there's a single figure in the 25th line that's "accurate" to the old toon, except as a coincidental thing. Very nearly every toy from 1982-1986 was in the show, and many have not been made in the toyline yet. I think the closest to "cartoon accurate" you're gonna get are the comic-based Duke and Scarlett from the 2-packs.

Off the top of my head, Zap, Grunt, Clutch, Steeler, Cover Girl, Airborne, Tripwire, Mutt & Junkyard, Blowtorch, Recondo, Ripcord, Footloose, Airtight, Frostbite, Alpine, Dusty, Leatherneck, Wet-Suit, Iceberg, Sci-Fi, Lifeline, Low-Light, Dial-Tone, Lift-Ticket, Sgt. Slaughter, Law & Order, Chuckles, Falcon, Tunnel Rat, Jinx, Mercer, and the Renegades have yet to be announced.

All of them had prominent roles in one or more episodes of the cartoon.

Just saw the pics of Wave 7 over on gijoeclub.com...

Two burning questions were answered for me: The HISS Driver isn't a Stinger Driver repaint like the one included with the Target HISS Tank, instead, it IS a new sculpt of the original '84 driver, complete with bug-eyed goggles and serpent's head on top of the helmet. And Snake Eyes is actually a brand-new sculpt of the RAH figure from '89 (two knives arranged in a "cross" on the chest)...

Duke comes with the same JUMP pack that the Cobra Airborne Trooper comes with, but molded in what appears to be silver plastic...and Duke himself is a repaint wearing a white shirt. He looks like a middle-management executive who travels home from the office with a jet pack instead of an airborne trooper...very strange...

This line is shaping up to be decent, in spite of all the repaints of some of the other figures...

Of Wave 7, I'm digging most of them. I really don't care for Duke, except for the jet pack as some of your have stated. I think I like Spirit and the HISS Driver the best. The Viper shows some hope, although I'm unsure about the arms and hands. I also gotta see some other angles of the helmet, so far it does look completely right. Oh and yet another Snake Eyes, at least v3 got a new sculpt. I hope they show v2 SE some more love in the future.

There's photos of the whole set (as well as pre-orders) up on BBTS...SNAKE-EYES ROCKS! That was my first Snake-Eyes figure ever and I'm glad they did it some justice. Duke is indeed from the opening of the movie complete with the flag and everything.

Viper looks great, but they're missing the googles on the helmet..Spirit looks good too as does the HISS Driver

Snake Eyes is getting as bad as clone troopers and coming in tons of colors.

Definitely seconded.

At least those were troops you could army-build.

Of course, if they MUST release different versions of Snake Eyes, this is the way they should do it. V2 should never had been a reused mold, and all the V1 recolours were unnecessary, but this is pretty good!

I hope Duke's Jetpack isn't connected to the bandolier, across his chest. I would rather it have a peg like the jetpack that came with the Cobra Jetpack Trooper. That way (assuming Grand Slam has a hole in his back) I can display it on Grand Slam.

I would assume it's the same Jet Pack with a different color scheme.

I just wanted to revive this thread because I think Wave 7 might be the one I'm most excited about, and it seems like it's been passed over around here for some reason.

Why am I so excited about this wave, you might ask? Version 3 Snake-Eyes, Spirit Iron-Knife, Wild Bill, and Cobra Vipers. Simply put. Spirit was a figure I've wanted ever since the anniversary line started taking off. When I was a kid, my brother came back from town one Saturday morning with my dad, and he told me about all of the new Joes he had seen at a local store. He described to me this figure that was an "Indian" that came with an eagle. I was so intrigued by that notion, and I wasn't disappointed when I actually got him. I no longer own my original Spirit, but I'd love to have another vintage one. But in the meantime I'm thrilled beyond words that I'll have a shot at an Anniversary version. And I really like how they took the time to get his skin-tone right this time. (lol) Awesome figure.

Version 3 Snake-Eyes. *sigh* Where do I begin? Let's see...of course many of you may know that Snake-Eyes is my favorite Joe of all-time, no matter how over-exposed or "overrated" (to some) he may be as a character. He was the original "silent-type", lone, lethal weapon hero, long before it was cliched. Anwyay...I had a friend in school growing up that collected Joes like I did, and he called me up one Saturday morning (What was it about Saturday mornings and Joes?!) (lol) to let me know the latest wave of Joes that included a new Snake-Eyes was out at Target. That was great and all, but going to Target wasn't the hop-skip-and-a-jump trip then that it is for me today. And it didn't matter anyway because I didn't have any money; I didn't get an allowance, and it wasn't anywhere near grade-card time, nor was it Christmas or my birthday. (lol) But my dad, bless his heart and God rest his soul, being the big kid and G.I. Joe supporter that he was, told me he'd drive me to Target to get some new Joes. I'll never forget that. It was a long trip and I didn't have any money, and he did it for me anyway. I got Rock'n Roll, Dee-Jay, Recoil, and of course, my beloved Version 3 Snake-Eyes. To this day I still have my original figure. And, as is the case in most of the anniversary improvements, this new version's goggles look more like the card-art shows, and the blades on his chest are much more defined and sharper looking, no pun intended. And I noticed they've included those cool, three-lense "Splinter Cell" nightops goggles. Neat! Can't wait...

Cobra Vipers. These were the only army-builders I actually halfway "army-built" as a kid back in the day, however I only had three. (lol) On my then-budget though, that was an army. (lol) But these new anniversary versions look great and I can't wait to get them.

Wild Bill. If ever a vehicle driver/pilot deserved a single-carded release, it would be him. I've always loved Wild Bill. A few years back I actually got the Battle Corps version, being intrigued like I was with a single-carded version of him. But I absolutely LOVE this new version. Extremely detailed with all the right colors and accessories, and I can't wait to see what his card-art might look like. That's one I'm gonna cherish.

H.I.S.S. Driver: Hmm...don't know why this figure wasn't included with a straight-up re-issue of the H.I.S.S. tank, but I still love it. Like with Wild Bill, I'll be interested in seeing this figure's card-art.

The only figure I'm not sure about in this wave is the "Cartoon-Movie" Duke. I like his colors, and I like how he comes with the J.U.M.P. pack, but...I don't know. I'm just not big on "cartoon" versions of my Joes. They always look cheap or washed-out to me. Maybe he'll grow on me though...
