- Scarlet is really smart but doesn't really understand men or her sex appeal. They look at her as the girl who graduated college at age 12.
- Ripcord and Scarlett have some fun flirtation relationships. There are two romances with completely different dynamics.
Does that mean that Scarlet and Ripcord are in a relationship together, or separate ones that appear in the movie? If they managed to screw up the SE Scarlett dymanic, I'm boycotting this movie.

- They went with Heavy Duty over Roadblock because Stuart just found HD more appealing. He might work Roadblock in the movie if there is one.
Gonna try and play it off of Scarlett being this hot supermodel who just doesn't know it and how can they not have Roadblock... Get that huge black dude from Green Mile or DareDevil and there ya go...

And you're going to love it no matter what. We get that, too.
Discussion is discussion regardless of the opinion, and as far as I can tell it's all welcome here.

A difference of opinion is welcome here, without it there would be nothing to discuss, we'd just have to pat one another on the backs consistently. If you like something, let us know. If you don't, let us know. Just don't start bashing each other and all is well.

Stuart like simple plots and not making the plotting so complex. The movie has lots of twists and turns.
So, which is it? A straight-forward, easy to follow plot, or a mind-f**k, make you think plot?

Besides...no opinion is FINAL until we can actually see the movie (which is a year away) and until then, it's all just hypothetical rantin' or ravin', for the better or for the worst. I'm assuming the WORST, but hoping for the BEST, that way I'll be midly surprised and pleased.
I doubt it, but we'll see?
The cartoon is where it's at!

Yeah, I expect it to be a movie made for the general public not the fan community, I'll enjoy it expecting it to be no more than that (provided it is entertaining, that is). I know this arguement has been made a million times but Transforemers was a film made for the mass market, not fanboys (not that there's any pleasing fanboys anyway.....).

What's with Stalker having dreads? I could see a character like Heavy Duty having dreads, but it just doesn't seem Stalker's style.
Destro wearing a Cobra symbol? Seems out of whack.
Gotta see what they do with eyes and facial expressions. I'd hate to see those bulges on the forhead, heavy blushes and those squiggles that come out from the faces on many a anime. Other than that, not toooo bad looking.
Rise of Cobra:
Though I don't like Ripcord and Scarlett flirting, I am glad they did say that a triangle develops between Scarlett, Snake-Eyes and Ripcord. I hope Snake-Eyes and Ripcord end up together in the end.
I'm completely indifferent towards the relationship between Duke and the Baroness. Doesn't matter to me if they once dated or not. However, I do hope the Baroness hooks up with Destro in the end.
This wasn't on the panel, but I've read it before, Storm Shadow being portrayed by someone of Korean descent is one thing, but I heard they were changing Storm Shadow's ancestry to being of Korean descent, as well. Ninjas are Japanese, not Korean. Sure, people from other countries/ethnicities have trained in ninpo/ninjutsu over the last 100 yrs, but if Storm Shadow is from a long family line of Ninjas he/they need to be Japanese. That's not about racism, it's about fact.

I'm a pretty big Transformers fan myself, and I actually liked the film. Yes, it wasen't perfect, for example, they needed more screen time for the Transformers themselves, but they're fixing that in the sequel, but overall as a fanboy I'd give it a 7.5/10. Not a bad score for mass appeal.
Still haven't gotten over Jazz's death though.

Yes, I'm being sarcastic.
But I'm just waiting for the complaints when they start killing off characters (as they've already indicated they'll be doing in other interviews).

Hopefully it's Duke, Cobra Commander, Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow and Destro???
Might pave a way for OTHER action figures of OTHER cool characters to fianlly get made and honored?

I'm for it!
While we're at it, could we toss EVERY incarnation of the Cobra Trooper into that list?
