GI Joe Toy Sightings

Woohoo! A sticky back in the Joe forum! Alright. And I'm first to post in it. Go me, go me.

Um...The TRU here in Hawaii (there's only ONE), has a load of DTC Wave 3, the newer comic packs, and the Viper Pit (maybe, there was only two left when I left). Also, they've got about everything S6 has to offer.

also saw that a lot of Dragonhawks are selling!!!! Got to get tough... SIGMA!!! wait.. that's not right...

I'm glad we have this here, but honestly, given the current state of GI Joe, were not likely to have much in the way of "new" sightings. Can we change the thread title to "finds" or maybe "finds & sightings" (or maybe just have a separate thread), which would encourage us to share new purchases of older stuff? For a lot of us that's going to be all we have for a while...

Actually it already has "sightings" and "finds" in the titles:

It doesn't say anything about "new" or "new only" in the title, so feel free to post ALL of your hauls.

my tru (sioux falls, sd) was COMPLETELY cleaned out of joe stuff. all that was on the shelves were 3 of the lady jaye comic pack, a couple of the 2.5" packs and 2 of the hydrofoils which have been rotting there for 2 years now. no other joe stuff AT ALL! last week the shelves were at least stocked. the power team stuff looked pretty picked over too.

Man, my TRU has about 15 of those Moray's left. At $50 a pop, they won't move. But the minute they hit clearance, I'm buying them all up. And then it's Custom Morays for everyone!

Sweet, I've been meaning to post up my new hauls... I'll have to get some pics going tomorrow! My GI Joe collection is starting to look quite respectable.

Hey guys,

FYI: You might check your local Dollar General's, mine had two cases of the single pack figures. I haven't seen them anywhere for a while.

Incoming from Ebay recently:

A crapload of '85 Snow Serpents and EELs, V2 Hawk (needed to upgrade my current figure), V2 Roadblock (ditto), Deep Six, Wet-Suit one DTC CG, one MIB MOBAT (stickers unapplied), one MISB Havok, Grunt MOC, Dusty MOC, mailaway LCV in the baggie, mailaway Hoodie CC in baggie, and one MIB Cobra Claw (UK version) sealed in the bags.

And yes, I will be opening all those!

Oh yeah, and Brandon Brigance here was gracious enough to hook me up with some great RAHC stuff - camo MOBAT, Locust, AWE Striker and HISS III - for a great price, so that's coming in too!

Go ahead and scratch this last statement. Apparently, within the last week, they dropped the price on these to $19.99, and there was only one of them left on the shelf.

Oh, and the TRU here also got some more Steel Brigade 6 packs in. And for some reason, they got 12" Zartan and Kamakura from the VvV line in. Still have a ton of the comic three packs too. As for the singles, all of the Cobra Troopers have been picked out, but there's plenty of everything else left.

Went a little nuts buying stuff on ebay.

I picked up: Bazooka/Torch x3, Snake Eyes/Storm Shadow, Frostbite/Snow Wolf x3, Night Creeper/Ninja Viper for $85 shipped (roughly $10 a pack). Sounded like a good deal to me, hence why I did it. I just gotta decide what to do with the extras. I thought I'd see if anyone here wanted to trade...

I also picked up my first Decimator (helmet, no gun), MOC DEF Mutt, Bullet-Proof and Cutter, a H.I.S.S. II (heh, hopefully not broken like the last one), 2 Night Vultures (1 MOC with glider), Laser-Viper (version 2), Shadow Viper, 3 Headhunters (1 MOC), a 9 figure complete lot (Gyro-Viper, Steamroller, Psyche-Out, Destro (version 2), Wild Weasel, Gung-Ho (dress), Blowtorch, Sci-Fi, Windmill), A.G.P. with Nullifier, Air-Devil, Crazylegs, 2 Rock Vipers, Snow Serpent, Crimson Guard Immortal, 2 Overkill (internet 6 pack), 2 gas mask troopers, Jinx, Annihilator, Depth Charge (MOC version 2), Iron Grenadier version 1, Chuckles, Falcon, Frag-Viper, Lamprey, 2 Flak-Vipers and an Urban 6-pack Flak-Viper.

The Decimator at $16 was the most expensive loose figure I picked up (all the others were around $10 or less and one of the CGIs was $15)

I'm STILL waiting for those damn things to show up! One of the TRU here in Albuquerque hasn't had 3" stuff for at least a month, if not longer and the other only restocks the comic pack stuff. I guess that's a good sign (that they aren't dropping the line).

Got a sealed Havok, very nice... The windshield had FINGERPRINTS on it though, which I can't remove for the life of me (and yes, it was sealed in the bag). Anyone have a replacement I could buy?

Also got a REALLY minty original MOBAT, stickers unapplied and every single piece and paperwork included. Too bad it's a straight-arm Steeler though... I really need to upgrade the cracked elbows on my swivel-armed version. Uzi was awesome though, totally mint, which is rare...

Question about this though - the up/down motion of the cannon seems loose to me, but is this common?

  • 2 weeks later...

Found a Skycreeper in this auction this auction which is cool, because they aren't too easy to find (or cheap).

But no gun....which leads to THIS auction. The Track Viper pistol is a cool bonus (since I primarily wanted the Skycreeper pistol) and that briefcase looks interest.

Of course, I'm not sure what the whole "9a and 9b" thing is (I didn't notice before, d'oh!) so I guess I better find out, eh?

this thread is for scores too right? i got a gift card for my nearest good comic shop for Christmas. so i went there today and they had a bunch of new (old) joes for sale. among them was a mickey mouse cobra commander. so i bought it. it was $60 and my gift card was for $50, so essentially i got him for $10!

EDIT: Turns out I DIDN'T win that auction, technically. Apparently the guy was to ##$%$#ed to figure out he could put multiple items in one picture.
