Ebay scammer johnjones868 just wants to steal your money

I've been trading and buying online for over a decade with people from here, ebay, and yojoe.com and have never been scammed. Now, starting last year, it's happened once per year costing me a total of $120! WTF???

Last year it was TNI lurker and known scammer Matthew Mason (aka Man_of_Steel, aka supermanspal). Partly my fault on this one. Too trusting sending someone I didn't know $60 as a gift.

This year it's ebay scammer johnjones868. Won an auction for the SDCC GI Joe set from this year, paid $66 for it, the guy disappeared. No response to any messages. After two weeks, no tracking number. I opened a case with ebay and I still have to wait a few days to see if they'll do anything. I'm hoping this buyer protection thing they advertise holds up and I can get my money back with minimum hassle but I'm betting that will be a long shot. I don't know, I've never had money stolen from me on ebay before.

Feedback for this guy was all sunshine and roses until a couple of days ago when another guy gave him a negative claiming he took him for $700. Sigh....

Guess I won't be dealing with people with bogus DC Comics handles anymore.

Wouldn't be great if some people didn't just care about themselves?

Im currently going thru this over those bootleg Guardians of the Galaxy figures I purchased on ebay. The seller (high rating, transactions in the thousands) either dropped or was kicked from ebay days after the purchase. They received my payment, and I contacted them thru the paypal email address. they said they would ship it out...waited weeks for a shipping notice, nothing. Sent a Follow up email a week ago, nothing. I'll be out about 40 bucks if ebay doesn't cough up a refund, or I actually get the item.

Yeah, I'm expecting a headache as I'm sure this guy's long gone.

Just checked his profile again and he now has two negatives both from guys who were scammed out of $700 over some Hotwheels.

Turns out if you don't feel like working, you can actually make good money just by being a $HI^ human being.

It's hard to want to have something and hope that the othner person is not going to cheat you. I've always gone by the rule of don't spend more than you'd miss. Never had any problems as a buyer (two close calls. Once a items from China got lost and took three months to get. By then I had opened a complaint and gotten a refund, when the item finally arrived I was going to repay the merchant but he was no longer selling. A second time I used a pay it now option and the next days all the buyers items were pulled by Ebay for whatever reason. I still got the item but was worried for a second or two).

But as a seller I've run into all sorts of problems (I don't sell a lot, but have for quite a while). People buying and then wanting me to ship oversea's, people complaining about shipping cost, people complaining about all sorts of things.

I'd say give it time, Ebay usually does right by people and if you haven't heard from the person or got your item in a reasonable amount of time file a case against them. Ebay usually sides with the buyer, so you should be protected.

Just looked his name up and wow. $700 Hotwheels auction alone. Damn, well, seems like he's been dealing with Ebay awhile, hopefully they are able to track down his info and do something about it.

The latest guy to give him negative feedback is claiming he lost $1600 to him :o

Good news for me, though. Ebay came through and gave me a full refund.
