  1. If they re-did this version in a non-stylized fashion I would definately pick it up again. My favorite Green Goblin costume. As others have said, it's the Humberto Ramos version of Green Goblin to go along with the Humberto Ramos Spider-Man released in the same series. Very similar to what DC Direct does with Alex Ross and Ed McGuiness stylized figures. I believe ToyBiz was experimenting to see if they could release more stylized figures as a way to make the Spidey line less stale.
  2. That's the best reason to buy bootlegs and shove them in Marvel's face with a big HAHA. When they see how much money they're losing, they'll do something. Bottom line, if they're not going to give me what I want, I will find it elsewhere...legal or not. You do realize that Marvel does not own the distribution rights for these animated properties? Until the distribution rights revert back to Marvel (if they ever do), Marvel can't really do anything about it. That would be Disney when they bought out Saban Entertainment a few years ago.
  3. Or, the person previously in the position left the company or was promoted. That's all it means. If it meant they thought they screwed up the Marvel line, the listing would have gone like this (and there would be more than one listing): "We screwed up. Our Marvel line is a mess that no one wants to buy. Retailers aren't ordering in the quantities they were when Toy Biz was producing the line. We are currently looking for anyone with any knowledge of the Marvel universe of characters who thinks they can do better than us, a multi-million dollar toy company that has been around for over 40 years. Help us fanboy, you're our only hope." Stop hating, it makes the internet a less fun place.
  4. Actually, as someone who was working for TRU during Toybiz's last year, it was mostly kids receiving Marvel Legends. Granted, their parents were the ones buying them, but it was for the kids. I would estimate that collector's were only 30-35% of the buyers.
  5. I'd have to second this sentiment. Isn't this year's Toy Fair coming up at the end of the month? News should be coming then. The internet has spoiled us.
  6. For all intents and purposes, there was a Morph in the main Marvel universe, but he was called Changeling. He started out as a villain and found out he was dieing. He changed his ways and helped out Xavier by impersonating him. He ended up dieing in battle disguised as Xavier. The reason Changeling was called Morph in the 90s cartoon is because Dc Comics had a character at the time going by the name Changeling (currently called Beast Boy). While the Marvel character came first, he had been dead and the name out of circulation for almost 30 years. The name Morph was later used for the character of Changeling during the Age of Apocalypse alternate reality story, again because DC was using the name Changeling at the time.
  7. Mine are stored away in my parent's attic. Thought about throwing them up on eBay.
  8. The original Human Torch was from the 40/50s. He was an android named Jim Hammond. He fought with Captain America and Namor in the Invaders during WWII. Check out Marvels or the recent New Invaders books. Marvels is great, New Invaders was only ok. The Johnny Storm Human Torch didn't Appear until 1961 in the pages of the Fantastic Four.
  9. While I agree that the DC Classics figures all look swell, they're all using the DCSH Batman or Superman body with certain details added. I think Sinestro's head from wave 3 looks great, but his body is just too bulky for what Sinestro should really look like. If anyone has a pic with all of wave 3 together, I'm really interested to see if Robin is in scale or if he was just another Superman body. Don't get me wrong, the figure selection is great, the execution is a little blah. But then again, anything is better than more Alex Ross DCD.
  10. I know these are suppossed to be comic packs, but it looks like like Duke, Scarlett, Snake Eyes and Cobra Commander came right out of the cartoon with their coloring, making these more animated two-packs with comics inserted.
  11. Since it is a Marvel action figure database, is it possible to add the 90's Toy Biz stuff?
  12. As mentioned earlier in the post, this is the first Q & A session for Hasbro's Marvel team. They're trying to establish a dialogue with the collectors. If they didn't care about our opinions, they wouldn't be doing this in the first place. With the con season upon us, major announcements are going to be held until the major cons, specifically San Diego Comic Con. And if the answaers in the Q & A are vague, maybe because they don't have a concrete answer yet. The new Punisher figure is supossed to be a Bradstreet version. I guess you should do your research too. And this is going to be totally snarky of me, and I apologize, but it's spelled "enough" not "enuff." It's hard for a professional company to take you seriously when you can't spell. And now for the flaming. Do they still call it flaming?
  13. Claiming that Hasbro's 5" Spider-Man line is failing because of the scale is a naive assumption. There are a lot of factors that have to be looked at when a toy line does not do well. Was it over ordered? What else is it competing with in the marketplace? Was distribution a factor? We all know the answer to the distribution question. The Spider-Man product was probably over ordered, glutting the market. Spider-Man isn't the only summer movie blockbuster toyline out. In fact, Hasbro seems to be competing with themselves this summer: Transformers, Spider-Man, and Fantastic Four all competing for shoppers' dollars. Scale is a small part of the compicated reason why the 5" Spider-Man line is not flying off the shelves.
  14. I think Arrow hit it right on the nose. The Q & A sessions are not just to get straight answers but to start a dialogue between Hasbro and the fans. On an unrelated note, I think it's funny that multiple sites are participating in the monthly Q & A and out of four sites I've looked at, three of the five questions asked were the same: articulation & paint, re-issues and flight stands.
  15. Stashing is stealing, however you rationalize it. And, no, I'm not jealous. Any and all of the figures listed in the original post with the exception of Red Skull and Gold Iron Man from series 1, I've had the chance to purchase and passed on them.
