Tomorrow Is 'Bring Your Man-E-Faces to Work' Day

Such an ORG thing to do.

I'm confused? Unless you mean its something only a MOTU fan would do which obviously is what the ORG caters to. What I don't get is why a bunch of you folks who I assume are MOTU figure fans since they are here posting on a MOTU section of a toy collecting forum are trying to act like its not cool to show off something you enjoy. To me that seems kinda lame.

I work in an office where they don't allow us to display personal pictures & quite of few of our client suffer from a host of disabilities, including Traumatic Brain Injuries as well as Deeply Disturbing Psychological problems.....I do believe bringing ManE, Batman or even the Joes would prolly get me my As$ kicked....& everyone here knows I'm a toy nerd.....they razz me about it but oddly enough very few if any know that I can pick on a Guitar like a man on fire......So I guess next year I'll do a "Leave Your ManEFaces @ Home Day"......I can get some picks of him eating my oatmeal, watching my tv, playing my xbox......oh that ManE....he's just like a my own Dupree.....

In my opinion, no, it's not cool. It's very unprofessional if you ask me. Just because we collect children's toys doesn't mean we have to act like children too. Like guitar devil, I also play guitar, but I would never bring my guitar to work with me. Not because I'm embarrassed to let people know I play, but because it's not appropriate for work.

A little depends on the work setting I suppose, but when I worked a desk job as a loan office at a Credit Union I had an action figure on my desk, my wife works for the Federal Government and she has a Palisades Super Grover figure on one of the shelves in her office cause she is a big Sesame Street fan. Obviously we aren't talking about cluttering your office or desk full of toys as if it was your home but I don't think it would be considered unprofessional to have something on display in your work space the reflects who you are or what you enjoy.

It's one thing to be an adult collector and to be proud of ones collection... and further more, not be ashamed to show it off to guests and so forth. But to bring your toys to work like we are 6 years old bringing our favorite toy to school is a bit ridiculous. but, ultimately... my post was more of a poke at org members because... well because I don't like the org and most of the members on there.
