wait.... you HATE the dreamcast??? sacrilege! i dont think we can be friends anymore.

yo, dreamcast was awesome! I remember when it came out, I thought it was hands down the best system ever.

it's really too bad that they didn't include a DVD player in it... we might be playing on a Dreamcast3 right now if they did.

It really was the best damn system. It still is to me even now over all the systems out. It had the best support for the kind of games i loved and by my favorite game company. Its unfortunate that i was young and had little money back then otherwise i wouldnt have cheated it and pirated alot of my games for it. Altho i do tend to buy alot of Dreamcast ports of their games that are on newer systems. I like how theyve been bringing out HD versions of their classics to expose those that never had a dreamcast. Jet Set(Grind) Radio HD is coming out this spring/summer and its going to be awesome. It was one of those classic games that had an amazing soundtrack and kind of the epitamy of the DC.

The DVD came out shortly after Sega pulled the plug on the DC in the US. I know that they were games after its demise in Japan because Capcom vs SNK 2 2001 came out for it. What killed the Dreamcast is how easy it was to pirate games on it. All you needed was to download a game online and play -older games required a boot cd.

Yeah and CvS2 was awesome. Better than CvS1 which shoulve been called Street fighter vs King of Fighters instead. Also it really was far too easy to pirate games on that thing. I mean it required no retooling, no sauldering or any kind of modification. You just downloaded a .bin or .iso file of the game and burn it to a disc with an iso burn program and BAM play it on your DC. What was great for me at the time was I was able to play these imported games that i would never have played before. Some were even fighters i was looking forward to that werent coming out in the US for like 6 more months or never even made it to the states.

I'd like to use my PS3 more, but multi-console games are more often than not superior on the 360. Truth be told I only use my PS3 as a BluRay/Media/Netflix machine nowadays.

I disagree with that statement just because the early 360 games slightly has better anti-aliasing, which make games look better. However, you really have to have the game zoomed in 40x just to see the difference. There are games like Bayonetta that runs better on the 360, but that is because the game was made with the 360 hardware in mind - the ps3 version was ported over by another company. Nowadays, the PS3 games are superior because Sony is now going the exclusive route with extra content in their games, something that MS used to do during the 360 early days.

For example, Mortal Kombat and SFxT has exclusive characters in it.

What the 360 has over the ps3 is timed exclusives. They also tend to have better downloadable games. This is important for ppl like myself who have both systems. I ended up buying a 360 just for the game "Guardian Heroes."

I would definitely agree that the 360 has FAR FAR FAR better choices of downloadable titles than the ps3. It actually really disappoints me when i look at the ps store and the games they have to offer are kind boring and bad... it doesnt help that most of the time they dont even have screenshots, demo or video to give you any kind of inclination as to what the hell you are buying except for the logo. That is the dumbest ass thing ive ever heard of for games. You d think they would get smart about it and actually provide something. I think the only time they have a demo is because it was already made due to multiplatform. its a bunch of bunk doo-doo and it irks me everytime i try to give sony a chance to redeem themselves.

Yeah, Sony's learned that they need to get the exclusives if they want the sales. I bought MK9 for PS3 because of Kratos alone. Had he not been included, I would have gone with the 360 version because of Xbox live.

haha the exact reason i bought it for the ps3 as well.. cant go wrong with that kratos stage either haha. I also bought it on my ps3 because i wanted to expand my systems. I dont have any fighters on my ps3 and i figured it would be a good one to do that with. My 360 is my primary system unless i want a game to look better and know not many friends are buying it that are on my 360 then i get it for my ps3. Mostly due to my ps3 having hdmi and my 360 only supporting component. The Street Fighter X Tekken exclusive characters were kind of stupid IMO so i went back to the 360 for that one. Seems sony is wanting to focus on exclusivity for fighters and 360 for shooters for some reason.

CoD Black Ops 2 looks like Operation Flashpoint,Battlefield 2142 and Metal Gear solid 4 all thrown into a blender with the previous Blackops

Does anyone here know what, if anything, special they are going to do for May the 4th on SWTOR? I googled it but all the pages that lead anywhere to something about it are blocked for me to access. Nothing critical, thought maybe they are going to do double xp or something

I personally think the PS3 vs Xbox 360 fanboy war idioitic. I remember asking advice on whether or not I should buy a refurbish Ps3 online, and someone instantly told me to get a 360 to satisfy his ego.

lol are you sure they were just not answering your question or ?..

Yes since I clearly told him that I am not askin what system I should get, but if buying a fixed system is better than buying one that isn't:

That is why I bought mines too; for exclusive content. However, the games that were exclusives ended up being non-exclusives with the exception of mgs4

Pretttttyyyy sure im over anything Call of Duty anymore... MW3 was the first of the series i decided not to buy and am pretty glad i didnt. It didnt bring anything new to the table. the series hasnt been new and refreshing with brand new ideas since COD4. Everything else has been rehashes or zombies. Thats a whole lot of originality right there. Dont get me wrong I liked them, like i said I bought all of them up until MW3. But each year i played them less and less because i wasnt quite done with the one prior to it. One year isnt that much time to play those games when they provide a good amount of replay value but now the formula is just getting worn and used up like dirty underwear or a hooker... I pretty much called this new COD as being futuristic since thats all they have left to do since Battlefield already did it like 6 years ago. that or add dinosaurs in the mix and call it call of duty: Jurassic Warfare.

The fighting game bug has bitten me again. Recently bought X-men vs Street Fighter for the Saturn. A week before, I bought a Saturn import converter/ram cart so I can play the arcade perfect ver of Vampire Savior(DarkStalkers 3.). While it is true I can get a Mame emulator and play the arcade version of these games, I prefer actually owning the games.

The Saturn ver of X vs sf is so awesome! It is superior to the gimped PSX version.

That is exactly how my brother feels in regards to the MW games. He skipped MW3 since he prefers the company who makes the Black Ops games; he ended up selling his MW2 once BO1 came out, yet he kept World at War when MW2 was released.

I wouldn't agree on that they have a far far far better choice of download titles since that isn't true. They do have a more library of games to download from, some of which are fun, but because xbla is opened to anyone, they have a buttload of crappy games. For example, those half assed rpgs and the numerous viberation games. If you remove all the crap, they have a slightly better library of games when it compared to the PS3. However, most of the good games are eventually released to the Ps3 1 month to a year later. I could have waited for Guardian Heroes for the Ps3, but knowing me, I can't when it comes to that game; Xbox has a better selection of games simply because they tend to games via time exclusives. What I like about the Ps3 is their PSX library. They just released cyber it's for it via import title. They also have rare games such as Castlevania Chronicles, Legend of Mana, and Legend of Dragoon.

Do you play fighters on current gen systems? if so which ones and do you play them online? Reason I ask is you should add me and hit it up sometime. I really hope they are actually working on Darkstalkers 4 because with the art style from SF4 and gameplay, I can picture them fitting in perfectly. There have been rumors that Ono is working on D4 since ending production with SFxT and I know he wants to have it made.

Whats funny is to me Treyarch didnt really do anything to enhance the series. Adding a zombie mode is kind of like everything every other game does now, adding a horde type mode. Its cool and all but now its become like a staple, something they have to always have but never adding anything really new to the same old mechanic. The series hasnt been new and refreshing since Infinity ward first really touched it for consoles in COD4. Also World at War was my least favorite of the series but it did try new things that never came back to the series with its 4 player semi campaign, flamethrower, and ultra violent kills though haha.

Well alot of the indie titles arent really amazing but at least they get a chance to put their stuff out there and can afford to take more risks on original ideas even if half of them are crap, they are usually only a dollar and come with screenshots and a demo. The actual published arcade titles are usually more diverse and interesting IMO than what sony provides on their systems for exclusives. Ive always been annoyed that sony doesnt make it a guideline for all developers to make a demo, post screenshots and have trailers show on their games pages in the store. Its kind of like a roulette with their games, you never know if they are going to be informative or not. I dont always follow whats coming out so i tend to check the store to see whats new so when i just see a title and a pricetag it deters me. However on the box if im curious, i download the demo, try it out and possibly buy it because i got to play it. Alot of Microsofts exclusives dont really head to the PS3. They seem to care more about some of those titles than sony does. I dont remember reading anything that says Guardian Heroes is coming to the PS3 at all. Only game that comes to mind as a semi time exclusive was castle crashers, and that wasnt originally planned for the ps3 and was released 2 years after its initial launch on the 360. IMO the "arcade games" that are offered on sonys systems feel more like they are retro in the sense of old timey shooters and such than regular creative games. They feel kind of lackluster... and honestly how many pixeljunk games can they create?

With the PS1 titles I dont care about because I still have all my classics in physical form and can still play them on any PS3... my real gripe is they dont let you play ps2 titles(which i have ALOT of favorites) and yet now they are starting to release them as emulated (poorly i might add) titles to buy instead of letting you just use the disc based ones you have. I give them credit that they are adding more and more imports that we could never play before but honestly half those imports are boring and not worth it anyway.

Dont get me wrong, i love my ps3.... i just dont really like the downloadable titles they offer.
