This years version of the "Big"Battle Pack

Last year it was the two different Star Wars Battle packs both with the AT-ST

One with a Hoth theme and the other with an Endor theme

Those were $50

I wouldn't be surprised if this was the same price

I am mostly dissappointed in the Cobra figures... we didn't really need any of those figures, and they aren't very creative repaints.

And really, really, in the MOBAT. I just hate that thing. Always have, even when I was like 5 years old. It's just the dumbest tank in the history of toys. The driver can't even fit inside. LAME. They shoulda given us the Mauler instead, or even better, the Equalizer (Slaughter's Marauders had some wicked tanks).

This set is a great buy!

Even throwing the Destro and the Cobra Commander at some kid, this set comes with FIVE figures! At Target's eight dollar price tag, those figures alone would amount to forty-five bucks! This is like you're getting the MOBAT, a HISS, and the rest of this stuff for only five bucks! If they ever released the MOBAT on its own, you just know that would be at least twenty five bucks!

Okay, I like the vehicals but "FOR GOD SAKES HOW MANY COBRA COMANDERS DO THEY THINK WE NEED!!!"

And Destro's for that matter I think I have 5 of them. Good luck selling those on ebay. You'll probably have to give them away!

I keep saying that about Darth Vader

I wonder if Short-Fuse comes with a clear visor like the original did or if that's been discarded since he's wearing glasses this time around and the visor might not look good over the glasses. I doubt we'll see his backpack too since Hasbro seems to be pretty cheap with the back packs this time around. A cool detailed backpack with removeable shells ala Major Bludd really would've been a great touch.

I'm just annoyed that we don't get Short Fuse's original webgear.

I'm getting one set & probably will part out the things I don't want. Sorry keeping Short Fuse & I bet a lot of others will too.

Ok. I like this set, it has a lot of cool items to it and I will buy it when I see it at retail. My problem with it is not for me but for others who may not have the funds I have. It is yet again a product that those less fortunate, who want Short Fuse, will have to find a way to afford the $49.95 price point to obtain. Let me remind you that he is one of the original 13 and there for desired. I know what a few of you may say, "you are not being forced at gun point to buy this set" but come on the economy is tanking, gas is higher than ever, and there seems to be little hope for those who are financially crushed. I just wish that Hasbro might understand that. Why is it that one of the desired figures must be packed in a set that costs so much? Before the flames start, let me remind you all that collecting is not all about, what can I afford, but about what brings me joy. I just feel that a $ 50.00 dollar set puts a wall between the have's and the have-nots. Don't get me wrong, I love this set and will buy it at retail, yet I feel sorry for those who want it but can't afford the price point. I guess those among you who might think what I am saying is pure silly-ness, may also think that "if they can't afford this item that is the least of their concerns", yet I have to ask "shouldn't Hasbro attempt to make the one of a kind figures such as Short Fuse available on single cards"? Come on, what is the big deal with placing these new figures in with sets that are so high. I am glad that we are getting a Short Fuse, but why not make him available to every collector, not just the elite?

Ok, I am done with the Rant. I like the set and love the entire lay out of it. I am also glad we are getting the Mobat. As a set this is a nice item and a must have for many. Other than my above mentioned problems, i can honestly say that I will be picking up this set, i just wish that others could be as lucky.

I'll be picking up this set and for what you get in it, I think it is worth the price. That being said, I do agree with you.

Short-Fuse is the big draw of this set for me. If I had a choice between this fifty dollar set and everything in it or a seven dollar single-carded Short-Fuse, I'd probably go for the single-carded SF. Hasbro definitely knew what it was doing when it put this one highly-desired character in a fairly expensive box of repaints. Don't get me wrong! I still think this set is a good value, but MOBAT, HISS tank and the rest aside, fifty bucks is still fifty bucks.

At the very least, Hasbro could've made Short-Fuse available to us the way they made Grunt available to us. Put him in a fifteen dollar three pack.

I think that was well said and not a rant. I'm more concerned about the problems finding the sets more than the cost of them. The cost will mean I wouldn't buy more than two of them if I find them. I'm more interested in the vehicles than the figures though. Unlike alot of you, I was not a G.I.Joe collector the first time around. I don't have alot of the vintage stuff so I definitely want a Mobat for my collection.

I'm sure it has been stated here before, but Hasbro will probably release an "Original 13" box set somewhere along the line. Repaints of all the characters from their original incarnations in the 25th line. I don't doubt it for a second...why you ask? Because of all my years pouring money into the collective pockets of depratment and online stores nationwide one thing has remained true, they always find a way to get more. That being said, look at what they have done with the Star Wars line. Figures from "Exclusive Box Sets" and so forth have all reared their unattainable heads at some point in single carded form. I started to think about buying up all the vehicles for the figures they come with to complete my collection with the 13, but I'll hold off until Hasbro decides to release them all again. And who knows, thay may actually make it worth the wait by making them true to their original appearances with accurate accessories. Perhaps a fools optimism, but one way or another and in one form or another, it'll happen.

There's definitely enough here that I'm going to pick it up. The MOBAT doesn't really have any play value for those over 5, but it still looks nice. The red HISS is pretty much my only chance to ever afford one. The Trubble Bubble.... meh.

Destro looks awesome. The Vehicle Gunner is a neat repaint, even though I'm sick of the trooper mold. Cobra Commander, HISS Driver, Stalker... meh. I'm not nostalgic for the original 13, and Short-Fuze didn't really DO anything that I know of, but any new/unique character is fine with me.

The only real issue I have is with Steeler. I had no idea who that was until I looked at his base. When you hit that point, I think maybe you should just admit that the figure isn't true enough to the original and try for something (or more accurately someone) else.

Actually Destro is a creative repaint... Destro is supposedly repainted like Red Jackal... http://www.yojoe.com/action/int/redjackal.shtml

Well that's just neat. And here I thought it was patterned after the silver-headed Destro in the DIC series.

Here is my opinion on this set:

1) All 3 vehicles are good choices. I like the MOBAT. That is mostly due to it being the first Joe tank. Anyone know if they will keep the motorized functions? The Crimson HISS is a good idea for a popular vehicle. And finally, a completely new paint scheme for the Flight Pod. Especially considering it isn't a "crimson" or "black" repaint.

2) The figures. As others have said, most of these figures are throw away repaints. Short Fuse is great to get and I like the homage of Destro to Red Jackal. The rest are meh? Although I do kind of like the trooper.

3) I think for the price it is being offered at, this is a great value. 3 vehicles and 7 figures is really worth $50, especially if you take into account 1 new, "desired" figure, 1 new vehicle not yet released (MOBAT) and 1 vehicle repaint that is highly desired by fans (Crimson HISS).

Overall it is a buy for me, but I can understand those who don't share my view.

I too am not happy with this.I too would have liked the mauler instead of the Mobat. As for the figures,it looks like Short Fuse and doesn't have his visor and steeler still doesn't have his tank googles.A big skip for me.I wonder if there is going to be a contest for these like there was for Star Wars.Make a Joe fan into a GI Joe figure?Unrelated to GI Joe I read on Rebelscum that Adam May's (the guy who won the Target Star Wars Battle Pack contest)figure has been made.

I'm pretty much buying this set for the Mobat, HISS, and Short Fuze....even though I think that doesn't look enough like Short Fuze with no backpack or visor, or correct Web-gear. And even though Steeler is better it's still a big miss. Come on Hasbro you have the parts to make him...USE THEM.

At first,I thought Steeler was another Duke re-paint. I do like the fact we finally get a Stalker with a J.U.M.P.,don't like the gun that he has though. Yeah I know it's the gun it's suppose to have. Doesn't mean I have to like it. Do agree about what was said about the M.O.B.A.T. and getting another CC. Problem is going to be finding this set when it come out that close to Christmas. If I do luck out and find one, that's going to be my birthday present ;)

H.I.S.S. Driver: They already released him, twice, as a single. Too little too late here.

Cobra Commander: The LEAST they could have done was fix the damn crotch. And get rid of the fist. I wonder if he comes with the backgun.

Steeler: Well the head is different at least.

Cobra Vehicle Gunner: Meh. I guess. He IS "technically" a "new" character.

Short-Fuze: I agree, he should have had his original webgear. Also, his name is technically misspelled on the stand.

Stalker: AGAIN!? I'm not even saying just Stalker, but WITH the damn jetpack again? Why not Grand Slam?

Destro: Shiny.

Crimson H.I.S.S.: I never really understood the whole "crimson" thing. It used to be like a sign of "elite" but now, its just overdone.

Cobra Commander's Flight Pod: Blue is cool.

M.O.B.A.T.: It sucks. They should have done to it what they did to the Mauler when they converted it to the Equilizer. Take out the electronics and just add some wheels. I never liked it. The fact it would drive on its own just kinda ruined playing. I mean all the other vehicles and figures you had to "drive" yourself.

He is in the DVD pack with a JUMP.

Yes CC has his gun. The HISS driver is holding it in the pics.

Well since we are getting a homage to Red Jackal then the HISS would be like his Hyena....
