  1. GI JOE means to me... I spent my childhood in a place that had almost no toys (in Mexico), no brothers and a baby sister. My closest friends were my cousins and they lived 3 hours away. But I managed to get The upper torso, head and left arm of a Tomax figure. I grew up with that... er... figure playing with other SW toys but it was my favorite (It had more articulations!). When I was in High school, I met a friend who also liked GI JOE and he explained to me who my Tomax figure was. Kind of late but I tried to get as many as I could, but I was still trapped in a small town with no access to any Joes so I had to make some calls and finally found a guy selling used action figures in a flee market. he often brought pieces of GI Joes so I started buying my figure collection back in 1987. I managed to get many in great shape and some legs for y Tomax. I even ordered many Joes from Mail order stores, so many of them got lost in the mail and never arrived, but it was worth it. When Internet finally arrived, I completed my collection and I bought a new Tomax I still have my old Tomax, after many years, I put it all together from parts and the only thing missing now is its lower torso. I never really played with them, except for Tomax. But every figure has a history of its own.
  2. I'll wait and see... I will probably just get some of them. Anyone knows why Outback and StratoViper got canceled?? @grumpy@
  3. I still have both: The Rattler and The Conquest. Do you know if there's something new or different from the old version?
  4. Hasbro promised to release Zap and Short Fuse before the end of the year. Short Fuse 1st version will be included in a Target exclusive battlepack along with the Mobat and yet-another Hiss tank, if I'm not mistaken. I've seen pictures of Short Fuse around this site... I don't know... It looks like the comic book version (which I love), but with Grunt's gear!? I haven't seen Zap around.
  5. I was in 6th grade when I found the first issue of G.I. Joe the comic book in a pharmacy store. A few days later, my dad brought me my first two Joes: Stalker and Rock N Roll. It was all down hill for his wallet from there... I remember it was not that "cool" to get the female characters, at least not for a kid my age, so my sister started collecting them too and eventually I bought that part of my current collection from her. 1986-1991 those years were very aggressive, I worked with my grand father around that time and spent the money recklessly I got together with friends also collecting G.I.Joe around those days and we bought everything we found, keeping those troops in their packages. I still have all of those around (including my friends). 1990- Is it just me or anyone else thinks the collection started to go to the drain from then on? I remember seeing Captain Grid Iron and other figures and vehicles that year and thinking... "is not the same thing anymore". I decided to stop collecting them the next year.
  6. I think you're right. I still have my original MASK toys locked up somewhere But I think is nice to see them back (IF they come back at all), I'll be getting Matt for sure. I always wonder what happened to them but never thought Matt would be joining GI JOE
