  1. I'm in! I have subbed from the beginning and bought multiple subs, so I am definitely not passing on these. I want that Evil Seed figure for sure!
  2. By the way, to your original point...the explanation I got was, it authorizes for the club fee and initial figure, times how ever may subs you buy, but the charge only goes through for the club fee. Not sure what the genius was behind that, but I did check my statements and that seemed to be true. They only charged me for the two subs I bought with shipping (which covers the Club Exclusive figure), but it doesn't translate that way on the way they print the invoice. It just shows the amount they initially authorized for...DR is quite idiotic with the way they handle things and Matty just lets it go...
  3. I have to say...this whole giving us free stackable stands is a great debacle. They charged for my package for 2 Lizard Man figures and 2 stackable stand sets. and the shipping on that is $17.99....then they charged me a separate $8.93, that no one at Matty can explain. They can't even find it...but one person told me it was for shipping for the stackable stands and it would be refunded....today I get 2 emails for refund on my shipping...one for .63 and one for .57. Stated for shipping refund.....ummm...no....so I called my bank and disputed the charge of $8.93, as I never authorized them to charge anything outside of what I agreed to and I didn't agree to pay. They still couldn't find the charge today, when I called back. So I received another package today for something I had to order for the mini-sub...since the only email I ever got about my 2014 mini-sub subscription was that it was canceled and they needed a new card (which was true, because my card # was stolen and apparently it does not update from the site when you change it, even when it shows you the page to update). So I decided to check what the package rate would be from the shipping address to my house and it came up $11.46, so I am assuming the remainder for the $15.99 they charged me is "handling". I used the box dimensions and the weight they entered on the slip. I have never had a company charge me more than it actually costs to ship the item. I am glad this is the last year for the sub. If this is the way they are going to conduct business, I don't think it would be worth any future sub renewals....all this time they have talked about not being able to cut shipping charges, is BS. If the handling is to cover DR fees, they should have built that in the price of the figure...if they are just padding this, it is very poor business practice. Glad this in only one more year.
  4. I just bought the Doomsday Unleashed. I agree the sale is not much of a sale. The chase figure was not going to be discounted and only available through early access. Didn't they make it available to everyone last year or was that in the final sale in December? I was kind of hoping the Wind Raider was half priced and I might have gotten another one of those. There were some good deals on the DC figures, but didn't need any of them. Really kind of underwhelmed. And sad to hear that they are offering free shipping, but their provider Digital River can't even get that right. I thought we had gotten past most of that craziness. I hope there are some folks who were able to take advantage of some of the things that were considerably marked down. Are the "Flash" sales going on throughout the week or just on Cyber Monday? Considering they have had Castle Grayskull in stock so long, you would think they would give some sort of discount on it. I logged on at 10amCT on the dot and no problems, so clearly the demand was not so crazy, even for jsut folks checking things out.
  5. It depends on your definition of appropriate. I don't mind paying $30+ for a figure I really like or more for vehicles accessories, playsets to go with them if they are so collector specific, as this line is. When you delve into the world of Collector specific toys, you pay a higher price. Action figures are not $5 anymore, nor are they even $10, unless you want some basic figure with no or lesser articulation. Even DC Collectibles figures, which I also collect, are priced similarly to MOTUC so as action figures go, they are in the ballpark for what it is. And DC Collectibles figures come with far less accessories, no back stories on the cards, mailer boxes (if you are into that), etc. If you look at any real collector based figures these days, they are all around the same price point (around this scale) and this is a line that is only offered online, since it could never make it at retail, in today's world. I don't think their shipping is appropriately priced, their volume alone should provide all of us with far cheaper prices with both the Postal Service and UPS. I buy a lot of Sideshow & DC Collectibles statues, so $25/figure seems like a deal vs the price I pay for the Premium figures and statues from them. That is my gauge of reality. I know other folks have different perceptions, but in my opinion, they are par for the course.
  6. I got mine in today and have to say, it is way bigger than I expected. I really didn't get the scale of it from the pictures, but it is definitely priced appropriately, based on what they have charged for Grayskull, Granamyr, and the other vehicles. I am not disappointed in it at all, but I expect this is something that is not going to be a hot seller this time of year and you may be able to pick it up later at a discount when they are trying to get rid of stock.
  7. I went ahead and purchased it when it went live this morning. Price aside, I have all the other vehicles and figures, so I couldn't pass it up, but $110, seems a bit on the high end, but in scale considering what we paid for Castle Grayskull. Looking forward to getting it in hand....
  8. I totally get that, but when it comes down to it, it is just business for them, no matter how much they ant us to think it is for the collectors. I really think it is a mix of business and a good solid collection for a wide array of collectors. It is subjective as to what sucks and doesn't depending on what a cool actors likes and dislikes are, which seems to be the challenge. I am happy to get a wide selection of characters. I may not like them all equally, but even the figures that one does not consider a great character helps flesh out the whole universe. My take on the whole thing is like build up to a good storyline....sometime you get a lot of back story, filler, and slow parts, but it all helps to build the final chapter of that story. We now find ourselves at what could veryvwell be the final chapter of this MOTU story.
  9. I actually don't mind the set limit approach, but it more seems like they are using reverse psychology. At this point...if you have subbed all the previous years, you should know by now whether you intend to sub this year or not. They are not relying on the last minute rush so to speak, by creating the possibility that you may not get one and possibly front loading sub's vs and end run game plan. I am in...always sub the day it is posted and it will be no different for me this year.
  10. I signed up for the September to December subscription to finish out 2009. Then I signed up for the 2010 only subscription, where you get the Wun dar figure included as a bonus figure for signing up on the subscription. As to whether it is working, I guess we will see this month since it started with Webstor. Hopefully it works well. I was expecting to see a ship notification already for the subscription.
  11. I signed up the day they became available. I like this idea. I purchased the remainder of this years figures, so I am happy they are offering a subscription, and a bonus figure to go along with it.
  12. They do have the rights to She-Ra, because they made her as an exclusive in the 200X line. I thinkt hey probably chose Adora, because she wasn't made in the stactions line or the 200x line. I am actually glad to get an Adora figure. I do agree, it is weird to get Adora prior to She-Ra...but hey, it's Mattel, things aren't supposed to make sense...I am sure She-Ra is in the pipeline if they are giving us an Adora...and who knows they may call She-Ra a bonus figure, since she may be considered a repaint of Adora...
  13. That is correct...they will have periodic bonus figures which are not part of the subscription...mostly will be repaints of previously released figures, so that the subscription folks get all new figures and no repaints.
  14. No. I am pretty sure they said, that for each subscription you purchase, you will get one bonus figure and that is the only way to get the bonus figure, which happens to be Wun dar, this year.
  15. The only thing that has a membership fee is the MOTUC subscription for 2010. , but for the $20.00 fee, you get a bonus figure..Wun dar.
