Does anyone see wings in the Nemesis pack? He is shown in the comic pic/background as having wings and the original has them but I only see the flying booger arms behind him. Did I miss it? Anyone?

yep, wings are there, just zoom in and they parallel his upraised arms at the leading edge.

this wave is pretty bad, all the figures seem to have major flaws.

Nemesis Enforcer - he just looks so blah. The original was badass. And what's going on with the gaps in his thighs??

Falcon - probably the biggest dissappointment of the bunch. He is so far away from being Falcon. The color is off, the camo is off, the face is way off, the sleeves are off, the scarf is way off, and I can't tell but I am sure he won't have his same spats or whatever they are called on his boots. They should have used the new TF flint sleeves. His scarf shouldn't be like that at all, he has no neck now. And his head is just garbage all around. Falcon really should have got his own mold.

Iron Grenadier - looks good from what I can see. Can't really tell because he is so dark.

Destro - meh. why.

CC - Different... but still, why? Seems like a bad match for Tripwire too.

Tripwire - okay, he looks pretty good, but he also is going to look like 5 or 6 other figures. They should have gave him different thighs and biceps so he wouldn't have those pads. And he should have got a different chest armor pattern, not that tight quilted one.

All in all... I am interested in IG and Tripwire only.. kinda sad.

1. CC - my custom looks way better. His accessories suck and the color is boring.

2. Tripwire - looks great!

3. Iron Grenadier - nice, even if it is a BA-CC body. It works.

4. Destro - great... can't wait to army build this one @rolleye@

5. Nemesis Immortal - I want nothing to do with any of this silliness. I'm sorry, but Cobra-La is ##$%$#ed.

6. Falcon - not disappointed, but it'll be easy to pass on this one.

All in all, I only want the Iron Grenadier. Wish they'd put him on a single card instead.

The GI Joe 25th Anniversary line is a roller coaster ride. With some figures, it's like Hasbro can't do any better while with others it feels like they're being lazy. They'll repaint figures again and again and again, seemingly more so than any previous modern Joe line or other Hasbro toy line.

And I know many will think I'm crazy, but I want that Nemesis...Immortal.

I'm noticing something about Tripwire that nobody else is mentioning; it's the whole "Flash-Sculpt/Quilted-Pattern/No-Quilted-Pattern" phenomenon. First we see pics of Flash with no pattern on his uniform pads. Hasbro says it'll be fixed in the final product. Then we get the H.I.S.S. Driver without the pattern. Huh? Okay. Now to me it would make more sense if Tripwire came sans pattern, although it'd be a little plain-looking. But he gets the pattern, and it looks odd on him. It really distorts his red arm-patch something fierce. It just seems to me that if they could change the pattern before, then why not change it to match the original Tripwire better. Ahh...he still looks okay. They nailed his head-sculpt though...

I'm not even gonna tackle Lt. Falcon, bless his little heart. (lol) I will say this: Why couldn't Hasbro just have used the TF Flint arms on him? One might say, "Well, the original Falcon didn't have gloves." True, but it's those types of minute details Hasbro doesn't seem to mind changing anyway. Like Flint's lack of gloves, or the advent of military boots on Version 2 Snake-Eyes, or Spirit's short sleeves in place of rolled-up sleeves, it's a minor, minor change that'd make a mediocre/plain awful figure great. Y'know...like with Flint. *ahem* (lol)

And...I may be the only guy here that likes that IG Destro. Don't know why. It must be the blue color of his uniform. That and those empty, soul-sucking red eyes. THOSE EYES!! (lol)

I should collect all my Dukie sleeves(as I like to call them) from my customs and save them up, then one year go to a convention and ask Hasbro if I can trade them in for some more figures, lol.. I'm sure by then I'll have a couple hundred seeing they want to keep on bringing them out.

@loll@ Yeah, maybe we should ALL save'em up and give them to you (or take'em ourselves if we're going) and do just that. Hand them the big giant bag full, and say "HERE....take this pile of plastic and make something COOL with it this time!"

@lol@ This made me laugh. I'm almost ready to join the cause. Considering how many figures Hasbro's used these horrible things on I'm sure I have a lot to donate.

[Again, I notice most everybody groaning over the falcon figure being yet ANOTHER Duke repaint (frankensteining of his body parts) which wouldn't be so bad if we didn't hate those FOREARMS and the articulation inhibiting sleeves, rolled up to the elbow joint, hence preventing practically ANY bend to'em, problem, yet Hasbro keeps a pumpin'em out for all the new figures whenever possible like they just don't care or give a damn.

Maybe it's time to whip up a petition or something?

The sad thing is that they admited in the last round of Q&A's that they know we hate them but they still just keep churning them out.

I personally like them.

But Hasbro does like Duke's arm, they like it so much that they reused them for Indiana Jones top part (Indi from Crystal Skull with no Jacket) go figure.

Nemesis use a new torso, and Tripwire is a reuse of Flash.

I wonder how Hama liked writing the comic to go with Nemesis & Falcon, he avoided the Cobra-La crap during the Marvel run.

I think the majority of Nemesis is Serpentors body. The head and lower legs are new. The hands have been modified from Serpentor. And the chest piece and belt are just new additions to make him look more like himself.

While the two sets of arms look similar, they are not the same mold.

The truly sad part is that if they'd just gone for some Cobra genetic manipulation super-soldier sub-group rather than the ancient civilization nonsense, it could have been very, very cool. I mean, if the villains are already raiding tombs to get DNA for Serpentor, it's really not a stretch to say that some demented Cobra scientists secretly crossed a human with a bat and buffed him up a bit.

Frankly, if I were in Hama's shoes, I'd try to rewrite it as such. That comic would be Falcon leading a raid on a Cobra genetics lab and running into Nemesis, and Cobra-La would still be left to rot. And it IS Hama, so you already know he'd make it much cooler than my random thoughts could.

I like something enough about all of them for me to pick them all up.

Falcon: Good enough for me. Single card / comic pack. I don't care, we got him and that's all that matters to me.

IG's: Hell's yeah, can't really see what they look like.

Tripwire: My first Joe, glad to see him again! The cape probably look good on one of the many other CC's I have.

Pretty disappointing. Tripwire and the IG look good but personally I'm tired of products that look like good customs. The quilting pattern on Tripwire is quite bad - couldn't they just have done whatever they did to the HISS Driver? I'm not even going to comment on Falcon, except to say that the backpack is really nice. Is that enough though? Meh...

They could always just replace the hands, right?

im really tired of Hasbro half-assing their figures... for 7 bucks a pop for an in-house line, we should be getting better quality.

yeah, I know these are all comic pack figures.. and I don't mind the repaints so much there... and I really dont mind parts reuse.. but they aren't even doing clever frankensteining!!!!! .Tripwire is all wrong. Hissdriver's chest would have been better... and some other arms and legs.. c'mon Hasbro designers, I know you know this stuff too

Put Falcon, Tripwire, and Iron Grenadier on single cards, charge me 7 bucks for them, and make them good.

I wonder if they couldn't use the HISS driver's non-quilted chest because they were using it for the AVAC.

Good thing I don't care for the Iron Grenadiers. Have fun with your multiple Destros army builders! @smilepunch@

Falcon sure could have used TF Flint arms + Gung-Ho hands. @hmmm@

Nemesis Enforcer: Not scary enough. The only "good" thing about him is that he appears to be a new (enough) mold. It shows promise for other figures.

Falcon: Duke Arms and the camo pattern sucks. I wonder if that thing around his neck will be like Major Bludd's tags.

Iron Grenadier: Hard to tell, being all black, but looks ok. I think the helmet is removable (or maybe the head is just oddly angled).

Destro: His sword is bent. @firedevil@ And his eyes are red. But he's no big deal, really. I mean its expected.

Cobra Commander: He uses the CG body. This figure baffles me. The sword is, really, the only "saving grace" and its pretty lame, IMO.

Tripwire: Would be perfect....without the quilting. Hell, look at the pic! I suppose its relatively minor, but still one of those "simple fixes" that could have been done.

Basically, I'm getting each of these comic packs for one of the figures - that seems to be the case with most of them lately: Copperhead, Red Star, even as far back as Breaker (w Destro).

I mainly want Tripwire (a personal fav), an IG (would get more if was a single), and Falcon (I know he doesn't look great, but I still want the character).

I'm beginning to think I'm the only person who doesn't nit-pick every figure when they first see it, and again when it's in their hands.

Falcon looks fine to me. The facial sculpt is distorted due to the packaging, but if you allow for that, it actually appears to be a darn good sculpt. As I've noted, it's not really a traditional Falcon look, but I think it looks okay. The camo pattern is a bit sparse... but nothing to get bent out of shape about.

Nemesis has the right build this time. One of the things I've been loving about this line is that the guys with muscles actually HAVE them. Good update... hopefully the backstory for the character won't be as lame as it was before.

I think the idea of using BA CC for the Iron Grenadier is inspired. In the scheme of things, it even makes sense. If you were a weapons designer/supplier like Destro and one of your comrades had an awesome suit of armor, wouldn't you steal the specs and outfit your personal troops with it? Of course you would- you'd even make the suit a little better so you could rub it in his face.

The Destro repaint is completely unnecessary, but I love the IG look, and I'm actually fond of the red eyes. Red eyes could be lenses in the mask, but the gold eyes of the single-carded IG version... that's just leaving out a paint application.

Cobra Commander I don't mind simply because it's at least not the same mold we've gotten five times already. We've seen plenty of CC in this line, but at least they're trying something new... plus, I like CC with a cape.

The quilting on Tripwire doesn't bother me. If I wanted the characters to look 100% like the original versions, I'd be lobbying Hasbro to reissue the original figures. Little changes here and there because of updating and mold reuse are just fine by me. As long as Tripwire has chest armor, the important part is taken care of.

Agreed.

I have to agree also. Although I admit that I nitpicked Falcon's head earlier in the thread, I think thats the first new figure I've complained about in this line.

The majority of my complaints stem from availability, or from character reissue. Availability I can't do anything about, and it is improving.

Character reissue though.... Let me see: 4 Destros, 6 Snake Eyes, 7 Dukes, 10 Cobra Commanders??? That makes no sence to me. Even if they released all the different versions of the characters thats stil 2 Destros, 2-3 Dukes, 4 Snake Eyes, and 4 CCs, meaning that they could have released 14 or 15 other characters through the line that we haven't seen. Thats enough to finish off all of '82, '83, and '84 and still release favorites from later years.

The figures themselves have looked great mind you. I only nitpicked on a few: Cobra Bald Troopers, Falcon's head, Duke's arms, Scarlett's hunched neck.

PS. I actually like the quilting on Tripwire.

Actually, it looks like a fair bit of it is from the Serpentor mold. The new chest armor just obscures the really identifiable parts.

Falcon: Duke Arms and the camo pattern sucks. I wonder if that thing around his neck will be like Major Bludd's tags.

It already looks like it is. Hard to get something to fit snugly around a collar unless you mold the inside to compliment the contours of the collar.

Iron Grenadier: Hard to tell, being all black, but looks ok. I think the helmet is removable (or maybe the head is just oddly angled).

Considering its a repaint of the Battle Armor Cobra Commander, there's likelihood it's either. Could be just a new helmet, or could be a new headsculpt.

Cobra Commander: He uses the CG body. This figure baffles me. The sword is, really, the only "saving grace" and its pretty lame, IMO.

It's very close to the original Marvel comic uniform... but it takes a *lot* of shortcuts. The new chest strap is kinda awkward, but maybe it can be straightened out... but considering the CG has a knife sheath on his leg, there really was no reason for the sword. The gun holster in the other side was good enough.

Tripwire: Would be perfect....without the quilting. Hell, look at the pic! I suppose its relatively minor, but still one of those "simple fixes" that could have been done.

Totally agreed. Along with Major Bludd, that's two figures Hasbro could have made a lot better by using the HISS Driver torso.
