  1. Same here with my son, his favorite is the Mutt "I'm a computer" one. Haha, yeah, another of his favorites!
  2. While I love them all, Porkchop Sandwiches is definitely my favorite. I've got everyone at work addicted to them and they have it downloaded on their PC. I've listened to it so many times, the inflections in "Blowtorch's" voice are so funny: "F---, we're all dead!" I start laughing when I just think about them also. My 5 year old runs around saying "Body Massage!" all the time (he doesn't get to see the more adult ones though).
  3. This is the last I'm going to say on the matter: The motto transcended the propaganda of the 40's and became a tagline for the character. It has only been recently when these writers, encouraged by all the anti-American sentiment in the world, have decided that the "American Way" part of the motto is no longer valid. To those that are upset by this also, thanks for showing that there are people out there that aren't brainwashed by the morons in the media and still believe that we should be proud of our country. #US1#
  4. Yeah, nice of you to dance around my questions. Here's the definition: The American way of life is an expression that refers to the "lifestyle" of people living in the United States. It is an example of a behavioral modality, developed during the 20th century. It refers to an nationalist ethos that purports to adhere to principles of "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." It has some connection to the concept of American exceptionalism. During the time of the Cold War, the expression was commonly used by the media to highlight the differences in living standards of the populations of the United States and Russia. At that time, American popular culture broadly embraced the idea that anyone, regardless of the circumstances of his or her birth, could significantly increase his or her standard of living through determination, hard work, and natural ability. In the employment sector, this concept was expressed in the belief that a competitive market would weed out talent and in a renewed interest in entrepreneurship. Politically, it took the form of a belief in the superiority of a free democracy, founded on a productive and economic expansion without limits. The reason it irks me so, is because I am very patriotic. My father and grandfathers fought for this country without question. They believed in the American Way and that it was worth dying for. When the media and other countries view America with disdain and we bow to it rather than giving them the finger, this chips away at what my father and grandfathers fought for. Now, who doesn't get the "big picture"?
  5. It doesn't matter who, what or where Superman saves, he's still an American icon preserving the American Way. Just because he saves the universe, doesn't mean the motto should be changed. He's from America, period. Just because he's not fighting in WWII, means that they should change the motto? What kind of rationale is that? Everyone knows this motto. My parents, co-workers, etc. know it and they have never read a Superman comic in their lives. They also think it's pretty repulsive to change it. You might want to read up on your American pop culture.
  6. Exactly, that is my whole problem with it.
  7. I completely agree with you. But actually, this isn't the first time this has come up. In Superman 176, Jeph Loeb had Superman questioning the "American Way" part of the motto. As much as I like Jeph's writing this still pisses me off. I get so sick of anti-American crap like this. God forbid anyone gets offended, feels left out or has their feelings hurt that an American icon is proud of his (adopted) roots. The "American Way" still applies, we're still a noble country and should be proud of it.
  8. This is going to be a movie for the general public not just Transformers fans. It would be laughable if every car used in the movie was an 80's model.
  9. I found the statue at alteregocomics.com before I ordered from BBTS, but they're in Ohio. So the tax I would've been charged made it about the same price as BBTS, so I stuck with them.
  10. While I like the show, looking at the stories these days, they're quite pathetic. Sigma Six's season 1 was at least enjoyable and didn't have any "Golden fleece" stories... Yet, I still weep everytime I watch Operation Dragonfire... I love the Python Patrol, I can't help it! -Kevin While the original did have many goofy stories, those were far outnumbered by the good ones. I'd take "Bazooka Saw a Sea Serpent" over the highly suspenseful "getting stuck in the mud" story or the "world is saved by robot dog pi$$ing on the missile" story anytime. The other thing I just love about the original is how non-PC it is. No one ever died, but more people got punched in the face in this cartoon than probably any other kids' cartoon ever. You'd never see stuff like this aired now.
  11. I think this may be the first they're talking about: http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product...016&mode=retail Also, I hated to do it (due to the price), but I just placed my order for the Baroness/Ravage statue a couple days ago.
  12. Unpainted, he still looks better than the DTC one.
  13. This is the second one I've seen on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=6059165720
  14. I agree with you but you should check out GI Joe Year One (or is it Declassified?) when it comes out (next month, I believe). It's written by Larry Hama so it has to be at least a little better than the dreck that's being put out now.
