Here is the first clue for the 2010 Convention Set

The clue is from the email that members get from the GI Joe Collector's Club and this is what it says.........................

3 3/4": It is the same clue as last year.

This might be a history loop...but...something old, something new, something foreign and nothing blue.

12":

I keep returning to this vacation spot.

I am betting that we get a Cobra Invasor, Cobra Mortal & a true Glenda as part of the extra sub set or 3-pack.

As for the official set, I bet that we get the following 15 figures:

Action Force:

Blades (We have already received)

1. Dolphin

2. Gaucho

3. Hunter

4. Jammer

5. Moondancer

6. Quarrel

7. Stalker (Lonzo R. Wilkinson, but a Snake Eyes repaint)

8. Steeler

Red Shadows:

1. Baron Ironblood - Commander of the Red Shadows.

2. The Black Major - Second-in-command of the Red Shadows.

3. Red Vulture - Vehicle expert.

4. Red Laser - Chief Red Shadows scientist.

5. Red Wolf - Red Shadows astronaut specialist.

6. Red Jackal - Ex-Action Force soldier turned Red Shadows officer.

7. Kraken - Reptile soldiers serving under the Red Shadows.

here are more clues:

1. They will be expensive.

2. You could customize them at home, or have someone else do it for cheaper

3. Everyone will want red shadows but if you get them, they will be the version you don't like (old school or DDP)

4. No, simply no. You can't afford them, stop even caring.

That may have come off really mean... and i meant it too.

I don't really understand the deal here. Most of them i've not wanted but they few I have I know i will not be able to afford.

It was only thanks to Toilet Monkey on these boards that i got my prized Destro in a suit (by far one of the best things to come out of the movie)

But why not Just a single figure that's more available. No wasted plastic on packaging, just an unmade army builder in a bag or something with the limit of buying four? sell em for 12 bucks a piece tops. Maybe a Cobra viper repainted In the JVC 1. 5 jungle scheme (i'm talking with fixed arms here)

I'm just overall unhappy with what the club overalls, I know they need to make money, but not only the cost but usually even the product aren't up my ally.

That said the new Dr. Venom looks good... if it ever comes out!

Have you ever been to Joe con before? Really I own all of the exclusives and for the most part im happy with them. Sure their expensive, but these are limited print run figs. The con really doesnt make alot of money off of these guys. The prices are pretty comparable to most other con exclusives, you just get alot more in these sets.

Personally last years set was my favorite, im hoping for new sculpt this year as well.

It's true I have actually never been to a con. i won't be anytime soon. They are expensive! I just ca n't pay that much for toys.

Baring that I really would like a club that offered different things than they do. Extra display stands, extra produced army builders from multipacks (well after the fact of course) etc.

I believe that we are getting the Action Force and The Red Shadows as it makes sense to the same clue that we received from last year for this year. I think that all along that we were most likely getting both of the Action Force and The Red Shadows as we had received Blades. Also, since Blades was in the 25th/ME design, we will be getting the 2010 set in 25th/ME design as it should have came out last year.

There must have been a problem or delay in getting these out to us on time as Master Collector had stated that they had a problem with a figure that was changed multiple times last year. Perhaps, most likely the timing was off with Hasbro and Master Collector so they scrambled to get us the Crimson Strike Set on a quick deadline. Good part on both, Master Collector and Hasbro, for getting them out and giving is a nice product even though there were only 3 designs used in the process of chaos. I bet that is why we had received notice from the figures so late in the process. Although, this year seems to be late, but not all that bad as it is just now the first month of the year and we are already received clues to the set.

As for the Argen7, they were most likely a sub set from the get go as the extra exclusives for last year. I bet that we will receive the remaining figures (Cobra Invasor, Cobra Mortal and a true Glenda) this year from that set. We may even see a Cobra de Aço from the Brazil line.

Sub-Set Exclusives:

2-Pack: Cobra Invasor & Cobra Mortal

3-Pack: The Black Major, Red Laser & Red Jackal

Vehicle Pack: Quarrel w/ Rapid Fire Motorcycle.

Boxed 15 Figure Set Exclusive:

ACTION FORCE:

Blades - We got him for the 2009 Joe Con.

1. Doulphin

2. Gaucho

3. Hunter

4. Jammer

5. Moondancer

6. Stalker (Not Lonzo R. Wilkinson, but a Snake Eyes repaint)

7. Steeler

RED SHADOWS:

1. Baron Ironblood

3-8. Red Shadows (six of these guys)

that would be cool... if they were arah style... the only club figures I have are the iron grenadier con set and 3 of those flaming moth night vipers(which I paid $22 shipped for on ebay for all 3 :D) I'd love to get my hands on other sets from the past, but they are way to expensive. (especially the crimson vipers!!!!) I don't even have enough money for the normal figures i want :(

I'm guessing Action Force. Blades and the Argen characters were a pretty big hit last year, and people have been clamoring for that "Arctic Scarlett" (i.e. Quarrel) figure ever since it popped up on Ebay.

I'd love to see Mortal, Invasor and de Aco round out the bad guys, too. Red Laser would be a given, and some kind of Red Shadow, but it'd be cool to see a newly created Black Major in 25th style too. Maybe Red Jackal and Muton too!

The arctic Scarlett & "Quarrel" figures were two different figures. Arctic Scarlett was to go with arctic Cobra Commander in a comic pack. It used different parts of Lady Jaye & Scarlett figure parts. Quarrel was just a straight repaint.

Must have missed that. I don't remember seeing that Scarlett.

Either way, Quarrel needs to be made! And hopefully she's not an "undercover Scarlett" (lame).

Well, the first artwork pic is up, and frankly I'm a bit underwhelmed. I don't need another o-ringed Interrogator. In fact, I'm not even sure I need the one I have now! Cool figure, but not an essential character by any means.

Still looking forward to the rest, and I hope some of the attendee stuff at least is 25th style.

First off - I'm thrilled that we're getting an o-ring set again. I hope that they don't do 25th style figures unless it's a special once in a while type of thing.

Does that Interrogator look like he's in arctic gear? I guess it would be cool to get some additional arctic troops.

I don't keep up with all the GIJOE stuff. But if it's anything like what Hasbro does for Transformers figures at Bot-Con, I'll continue to not be interested. $300 for a set of figures is too crazy. I assume this will be a similar situation for a set GIJOE convention exclusives.

I agree. I recently sold off my 2003 set after realizing that I have bought them simply out of the hype some ppl here were making back then. If I am not mistaken, the con sets were 200.

I was happy to sell them off, yet alone sell them for more than what I have paid for because these gi joe con figs are very hard to sell.

did you guys read the brochure they put out? it sounds like it is red shadows. Here is what it says

"Red Shadows International Set

There has never been an American release of the international

figures in this set. We have some very special surprises for you!

Every collector will want these vintage style figures from the

set: Black Major, Interrogator, Flint, and the troopers: six Red

Torches and six Red Shadows Troopers.

Each of these exotic figures comes with their classic weapons and

accessories in this exciting 2010 fifteen figure boxed set “Vacation

in the Shadows”!

Make sure you are there for package pick-up on Thursday night

so that you won’t miss this year’s souvenirs! These souvenirs

will feature several highly sought after vintage style G.I. Joes

along with one figure that will make its debut in 3 3/4” scale.

These limited edition figures will have a major roll in the convention

exclusive comic book. Flint has been captured by the Red

Shadows and their evil leader, the Black Major. Can Flint’s

international team save him, and what of the Interrogator? What

is his role in this insidious plot?"

While I'm excited to see the Red Shadows and Black Major, I feel slightly cheated by getting two army builders - one of which I don't recall ever hearing of before (Red Torches?). I'd rather have seen more individual characters. However, I understand that the cost of the set would probably be higher if they did that like the Tanks for the Memories set. Oh well.

I bet we'll see more characters in the con attendees only items.
