This is what I think of when I picture 6" Emperor done with plastic robes.

I was OK with the plastic capes on the MLs, but I also think the figures that got soft goods pulled it off well.

well when i see that ugly mandrin figure i gotta agree with you. that is by far the ugliest ML ever released. i hated that stupid gown. the paint aps were hella crappy too. on fully covered figures like the emporor, i would be ok with cloth.

Toybiz used plastic for the most part in their LotR line, and it didn't hamper articulation. I'd go with plastic because if their cloth I won't be picking up those figures.

right.. plastic worked great for those guys.

check out this Gandalf... 100X better looking than anything you could ever get with cloth

IF... and only IF they could achieve this look and keep the articulation that ML is known for, then yes, I would agree that something like that Gandalf would be awesome. My only fear with cloth is sometimes they make a protoype of something, it looks awesome, and then when they go into production, the factory uses a differnet cloth and then it looks odd.

I still favor cloth over plastic though... like I've said before, for the mainly robes guys.. I'd hope for a little of both... but overall, I hope for plastic(Han doesn't need a cloth vest that'll end up looking like a Old Navy or FUBU vest in that scale, lol).

I think we will see a mixture of both. As was mentioned before, Han doesn't need a cloth vest or Admiral Ackbar a cloth uniform, BUT ... I do believe any Jedi figures would work much better with cloth goods
I just don't think those flowing Jedi robes would work very well made out of plastic. They could go with plastic for most of the uniform, but the robes or cloaks would need cloth IMO.

Hopefully Hasbro will make the best figures they can, specially given the price point, and choose wisely when to use cloth or plastic.

I normally say plastic but on this scale I think cloth looks better so I am ok with it.
