Bah...Chewy and Han were space pirates. It would have been a whole lot more interesting to me to think they reverted back to their smuggling ways after Jedi; of all people pirates have been portrayed throughout cinema history as those that see lots of battle and many eventually lose an eye, hand, leg, etc. So a cybernetic hand isn't a stretch for an old intergalactic adventuring warrior like Chewy, but wouldn't it have been more appropriate and at least visually interesting had he lost an eye along the way and had to wear a cybernetic "patch", like he did as Snoova in the Shadows of the Empire storyline? Hey Mr. Abrams, just write a secret cybernetic handshake into the script for Luke and Chewy and be done with it why don't you. *groan*

I've tuned out rumors from day one.

Really, what is the point of listening to them? Especially in this case. It's Star Wars Episode 7 we're talking about here. Who knows if it has credibility to it or if it's been made up by a bored fanboy or if it's been purposefully leaked by the studio for either the attention or as a red herring. I'm not going to sit and try to sort through all that mess.

This time someone says Chewbacca has a robot arm thirty years after ROTJ? Yeah, great. Are we supposed to consider this more credible because we're now three weeks closer to the release date than the LAST rumor we heard?

Let me know when the first trailer hits. Heck, let me know when the first official images hit. I'll be more interested to talk episode 7 then. Until then I've got my fingers in my ears saying, "La la la la la la" every time I hear the words "Star Wars Episode 7 rumor!"

So what is that now? The current supposed subtitle to episode 7? Like how it was supposed to be "A New Dawn"?

Is it another red herring "leak"? A fan on his computer squeezing three new words in? Who knows? Not believing anything until we get official word.

EDIT: Well I clicked on the link that Bespin Refugee provided after I wrote the above comment. I guess it appears legit as of 2:18 pm Thursday November 6, 2014. Next week, who knows? I suppose I could take the time to remind everyone that there is no subtitle that featofstrength would approve of anyway....just like every single other element of this movie :)

And Joe once again braves the choppy Sea of Mehs with his single, battered paddle.

Even a genuine reaction to the ridiculous is better than the blasé:

Something with only three words, to be like the original yet remind em that there will be powers and lightsaber battles and #$##:

Sure, book by its cover thing, but still sounds uninspired to me. We sure this isn't the title to a "making of" documentary for Ep 7?

Wow that's a crappy tittle.

I wonder if that's official type/font...reminds me of something...

$10 says that the second movie title will have the word Dark in it

$5 for words implying darkness (black, shadow, night, eclipse)

LOL. OK admit it. You scoured google looking for movie posters that have similar looking letter "R" and "K"s in them so you could imply lack of originality in type font. Didn't you? It's OK if you did.

Out of all the movies and all the movie posters in the last 30 years, this one just sprang "naturally" to mind? @loll@

(...attacking the font...*sigh*)

I like reading your stuff. And that's not me being a smart @$$.

As for that Ewing footage you unearthed, him hating those prequel titles didn't stop him from cashing those big paychecks. And as I recall, he was pushing to have his younger Obi Wan added to the new movies. Which would have made A: him another big pay check and B: absolutely no sense at all...

The Force Awakens?! The Force AWAKENS??!! Oh, my word... @bH@

There's so many things wrong with this title. Where do I start? First of all, it implies the Force has been dead or dormant for the past thirty-odd years in the Star Wars universe. *groan* That's just a repeat of the time period leading up to A New Hope. Case in point: In the original Star Wars, Tarkin says to Vader, "The Jedi are extinct...their fire has gone out of the universe. You my friend are all that's left of their religion." Why didn't they just call it Star Wars Episode VII: A New Hope...AGAIN!!? (lol) So Luke destroyed the first Death Star, trained under the most legendary Jedi that ever lived, who by the way was in hiding for years, hidden from the Emprire and its agents, presumed by many to be dead even, to become the last of the true Jedi, and he even helps bring about the defeat of Darth Vader and the end of the Emperor/Darth Sidious himself, only to usher in a new era of dormancy for The Force?! Whaa...?? That's what this title implies...no new Jedi Order, no active pursuit of new Force users, nothing. It simply doesn't make sense.

Second of all, it seems that they're trying to be original and profound, as if it's some sort of "reboot" or a new age for Star Wars, or a return to the "true" iteration of Star Wars, kinda like the equally horrible title Batman Begins. I loves me some Nolan Batman films, but I still hate that title. Why not have a more adventurous title that hearkens back to the old serials from the '40s and '50s? Something with a specific hint at what the episode is about would be nice. Any good Star Wars title has some clue as to what's coming, all except for A New Hope of course, and that title was added retroactively. Somebody strikes back, or attacks, or returns, or gets revenge in the original titles. The Empire or Sith are mentioned, or clones...something that gets you interested beyond some vague or generic premise that leaves you wide open to Ridley Scott-sized theories or speculation. The Force Awakens sounds almost like the title of a cult handbook or something instead of a Star Wars movie. Bah...

***POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT!!!*** One of the rumors floating around about the plot is that Luke is now a recluse like Obi-Wan, and Han and Leia and Co. are trying to locate him. If so, then why not call it The Search for Luke Skywalker? Yeah, it copies the obvious Star Trek sequel title, and it's a tad goofy and derivative, but so were the other titles. It makes you want to see the film if only to find out why they're trying to find Luke. What happened to him in the years since ROTJ? Why do they need him so terribly bad? ***END OF POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT!!!***

In my mind, the title for a Star Wars movie should invoke some sense of sci-fi-laced adventure or action-filled drama that implies suspense. Just like with the title The Empire Strikes Back; immediatley you think, "So at the end of the first one, the rebels destroyed the Death Star, Darth Vader was lost in space, all's well that ends well, right? Oh crap, the sequel is called The Empire Strikes Back? They're ticked-off, so what're they gonna do? How do they retaliate? Does everybody make it out alive?" There's just enough of a specific hint that piques your interest and represents some small idea of the theme of what the plot revolves around. The Force Awakens reads to me like the title of a fan-made film on Youtube. It simply doesn't match the swashbuckling feel of the other titles.

I'm sorry...I don't mean to be a wet blanket here, and this all may just be a knee-jerk reaction on my part, because I'm still excited, and I'll still be right there in line to see it, but as of right now, I don't like this title. At all. To quote The Grinch: "I really don't like it...hm-mm, no I don't."

No, see, my brain remembers things my eyes have seen over my years of living. It's quite perceptive in letting me know when Ive already paid to see something once. That or my midichlorian count is higher that most.
