Batman has had varied styles over the years, and I think i'm well with in my rights to pick what I like. I'm sure some people prefer vehicle voltron, bu most of us think those guys/gals are nuts. I'll always want my batman a dark dective with more realistic villians, no bat-mite, no super-friends, I don't even want to Super-man interact with Batman. I don't feel that I am some superior being just because I have tastes, to each their own.

 

As for the issue at hand... that promo image has been outed as a fake. As much I loathed Batman and Robin, i've never been a big fan of reboots and initially didn't want to see batman begins. It was good, it was great! Sure there problems (the bat call in the boots? the tumbler's design etc.) but overall I loved it and Dark Knight even more so.

 

As for Inception, sure scrooge did it first and by that logic almost every movie is crap. Everything is recycled these days. Was the movie over hyped? yes proably, but it was still enjoyable.

I think the people that were immediately pissed about this picture were all the same people who first screamed to have Catwoman in the movie because they wanted to see Angelina Jolie (*cringe*) wearing a skintight costume that reveals ridiculous amounts of cleavage.

 

To those people I say go rent a porno movie and quit hoping Nolan will ruin the third Batman so you can see one more half-naked lady.

End of the day we are ALL gonna see this movie. It doesnt matter if you love or hate Nolan's vision, it doesnt matter if you love or hate a costume choice by the production team, it really doesnt matter the story. Fact is you are going to see it. I have been saying this for years on this board and ill say it again...WE AS COMIC BOOK FANS AND LOVERS WILL NEVER GET A MOVIE ABOUT A COMIC CHARACTER TO BE 100% STORY PAGE TO SILVER SCREEN. We have gotten very close on a few but none have been perfect. I happen to enjoy what Nolan has and will do. I blame all the people who are posting the spoiler images and amature videos of the production for all the hate, confusion, and internet flame ups.

 

Lets just wait it out and see what we get next July before we nail Nolan to the cross. IN NOLAN WE TRUST! LOL just sayin!

Man-o-man was inception over-rated! I saw it, it was cool enough to see visually, but there was a point where it's like "common now, lets wrap this up"

I'll give you the Magician one...I think it was called The Majestic? but Inception was pretty good. I wasnt blown away by it but it was still one of those hey thats pretty cool flicks...This is in no way a slap in Tim Burtons face because i liked what he did minus killing off the villians. But Nolan's vision/version of Bats is (to me) 90% totally on point. much closer than most and about as close as we are gonna get until someone with thier own funds and no influence to big hollywood can produce, cast, and film said movie.

Agreed. Bale is the same height and weight as Bruce Wayne from the comics, whenever he's played the Batman. Bale also has the "prettyboy" Bruce Wayne look, and his Batman is dark and violent. Bale also has the attitude of Bruce Wayne and Batman from the comics pre-DCnU. Sure some people have an issue with his "Batman voice", but it doesn't bother me... Also Bale is a "real" actor, hes very versatile and could do any genre of film. The whole franchise has been taken seriously-- so far. It's cast is made up of stage actors and not "movie stars"...although the "stage actors" in this franchise are movie stars. You got Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, and Gary Oldman. Gary Oldman is a true actor and character chameleon, just like Bale. How many people can pull off, going from portraying Sid Vicious, to Dracula, and then to Jim Gordon.... Not many I'm sure... I also like that this franchise refers to Batman as "The Batman"-- because it gives the character a mysterious and almost supernatural feel, to those that don't know his secret identity. As "the Batman", it makes him almost seem like hes not even human...it gives him a "we don't know what we are dealing with here" or a "what is that thing?!" kind of feel, if a criminal encounters him.

 

Also this is the first live-action adaptation, that has incorporated the character of Joe Chill (and NOT the Joker), as the killer of Bruce Wayne's parents. It my opinion this franchise had been very well written. It's dramatic acting and special effects (tit has stuck to the old fashion stuff, not the CGI crap) and doesn't at all feel like its a movie about a comic book character. Its suspense and action, is up there with "Se7en" or "Point Break".

 

In my opinion Nolan and Goyer's Batman franchise, has been the most comic book accurate live-action portrayal to date.

Haha, no you're not the only one. While I do think that shes a good-looking girl, I never pictured her as Catwoman though. And I sure as hell, have never pictured Angelina Jolie and her fish lips, as Catwoman either. I might be in the minority here, but Jolie just has never done it for me... I think that her "looks" are way overrated... I would rather bang Helen Mirren and Pam Grier (which I know that I would enjoy), before I would ever even consider kissing Jolie.... Both Mirren and Grier are generations older than I am... But then again I have my own issues....
