  1. Man, is it good to hear a voice of reason! After all the hoopla these past few weeks, from the release of these two figures, it is reassuring to know there are guys out there like you! I think the worst part about your situation is that so many "bad" customers have inundated the phone lines at Mattel. The worst being people who were calling the first week wondering where their figures were. I think that was Mattel's main miscalculation - there aren't as many "experienced" web shoppers as they thought. I have been buying most of my toys online for 2-3 years. I don't think I have ever been stiffed, but I do remember being really freaked out in the begining. Mostly the "will I get it, or won't I," and the waiting. Thats the thing that suprised me the most. People were expecting stuff so quick. I have to wonder if payment method had something to do with the speed of proccessing though, as I have placed two orders in the time it took for some to even get an e-confirmation.
  2. Dude that is a real shame. I wouldn't fear though. I have placed a 2nd order with them and used UPS ground. The figures will get here in just under a week. They are still shipping, and petty quickly I might add.
  3. Yeah, Iv'e wanted to join for a long time, but alas, I am in the same boat...
  4. Not sure if it is a hundred percent true, but a message on the .org forums is indicating a sell through on the initial batches of figures. That may be why some have yet to get their figures. Hopefully that is the truth.
  5. Yeah straight forward like when President Bush told us 3 months ago the economy was strong. Yeah, straight forward. You know, he mentions pretty clearly that Castle grayskull is not a possibility right now, but sales numbers do show a beast as being worth the production costs. I don't think he would have mentioned these things unless it was real. I am not saying I believe 100% that these have taken off, but anyone who believed that these would sell out in a day are not paying attention. TG has said since SDCC, that he wanted EVERY fan to be able to get the figures they want. That means the production numbers had to be signifigant enough for these to do that. I know this is going to be heresy, but... I honestly feel that this website is biased towards this toyline not being successful. If any of you were around here a few months ago you would remember that article that had a heavy slant towards the 200x series. I mean, I totally love it here, but statements like "damage control for posts," doesn't really have any factual basis behind it. How do we really know anything...
  6. I don't know, it seemed pretty straight forward to me...
  7. Oh, I wasn't trying to be mean or offensive. I'm sorry if I came off as sounding like a jerk. I was trying to say that we collectors are real funny when it comes to our toys. As a matter of fact, I am ordering two more He-Man figures. Why, I don't know. I just loved the figure so much that I decided to get something a little extra for myself this Christmas.
  8. Sweet. I wish someone would have taken as much care with mine. I think since my order processed later, after they were likely in such a rush after being slammed with orders, they didn't take the time to package them properly. Thats a shame, I hope you were still overall happy with your order though. I have read a lot of complaints about poor packing, and damaged packaging. It really makes me wonder about how we define "mint" as a collecting community. I mean, I ordered 4 He-Man, and 3 Beastman figures, and I got them really quick. Within the same week I ordered, which is really fast for any on-line retailer, really. I couldn't tell you how the packages looked, because I don't care. I am happy with MISP as long as the figure inside still looks good, and as long as the card isn't bent all the way back (which has never happened to me). I guess I am just more relaxed on sealed figures then others. I don't ever plan on selling them, and I don't think anybody would notice a bent corner if they were to look at my collection. It must be one of those OCD things that we collectors are notorious for. After all, do I need 4 He-Man figures? I guess we all have our quirks. @bananna@
  9. Some of you guys are crazy! Its only been a week, of course they are not sold out yet. We were told from the get go, that these two were going to be made in larger numbers than KGS. One thing that everybody hasn't taken into consideration, was the back lash that mattel got during the whole KGS fiasco. People who couldn't get a figure were very upset. I think that Matty was in a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation. Can you imagine the amount of people who would be pissed off if they couldn't get their figures for Christmas. I'd imagine that these guys were made in biggest numbers that this line would ever allow. We are seeing a big delay in the shipping too. I'd guess that had something to do with the volume of orders they have recieved. This has got to be a good sign.
  10. I really kind of like this idea. Though, with the way Mattel is handling the brand now, I wonder if they couldn't do something like this themselves? I mean MOTUC is essentially a collector driven line, so I can't see any harm in them taking a few risks with repaints, and retools. The alien zodac sounds awsome! Heck, a repaint Zodac in his 200x style with a new head would be sweet too!
  11. He-Man = Win! Its funny you asked this question, because I have been so excited to get He-Man, that I have been trying to fill my toy collection with figures that would go well in his universe for months now. One toyline that really goes well with MOTUC is the old Toy Vault Middle Earth Toys figures. I have 5 Ugluk the Orcs that serve really well as goons for any Dark Lord that you Have. I have also gone back and picked up a ton of Toy biz's Lord of the Rings figures too! Actually, with the announcement of this line I have really been going after a slew of 6" figures including Dc, and Marvel heroes. I think they will suffice, until MOTUC starts to fill out as a line!
  12. Dude, this thread is sweet.
  13. That is really cool. I always liked Frazetta's work, and didn't realize he added so much Sci-Fi. I can really see what you are saying about a possible connection to He-Man.
  14. I always felt that the 1:18 scale was the perfect way to go with LOTR. Unfortunately I have fallen in love with the 6" scale too. Maybe they can do both like the Prince Caspian figures?
  15. For now, I'm going for all that we've seen pictures of. The Four Horsemen do such a good job with the sculpts that it will be hard for me to resist any of them as a MOTU fan. Yeah, me too. I will probably make this line my number 1 collecting priority. It will be easy for me to keep up with, and The MOTU figures are all so unique that I shouldn't get bored. i would, but.....DCUC is taking most f my money. i will invest in a few of these though. Yeah, its funny because DCUC was my favorite line, and I have all of them, not counting chases. I just don't think I will be able to keep up when they up the case assortments. So far I have been buying them by the case online, but it will get too expensive next year. I really hope I can find mullet Superman later this year!
