Check out that new ML packaging. Reminds me of the Black series packaging. Bet you we get Black Series style price hikes as well!

I'd pick up the Black Cat but then again, so will everyone else. I thing my favorite Spidey figure that I own is the Spidey from the Tobey movies so won't be needing another one of those. All the rest look like things I could live without.

The Black Cat looks great. I'll probably hunt for Beetle and Carnage too. Yet, what happened to the Boomerang figure?

I was so excited for these, then I noticed the 19.99 SRP.

A-ha! My hunch was correct! I knew this would be the case when they saw that people are willing to pay that for the SW Black Line.

I would be even more bummed if I were not all but done with super hero figures. I won't waste time being angry. I have all Marvel AND DC A list, B list, and C list characters in their classics looks. There will ALWAYS be new costumes for these guys so you just have to know when to cut it off and say, "That's it". $20 per figure seems like a good place to do that.

It's been fun, 6" super heroes. Black Cat, I'll stick to my flawed Toy Biz version.

The Legends look great! NOt surprised about the price hike. I think I may be a cherry picker from now on at that price.

I agree, they look great and it doesn't surprise me they're increasing the price I'm not happy about it but still when I lived overseas that's pretty much what I paid for them anyway. We knew this was coming with people buying the SW 6'' at the same price without batting an eye.

Other than price keeping people away in droves, another reason........availability, good luck even finding these anywhere but online.....don't know why they even keep teasing us w/new figs....there are still ML's Klaws & Constrictors galore on the pegs at TRU....the only place for disappointment & Marvel Legends.....I didn't mind paying extra for SW figs but they're out of their minds hiking up the price.....smoke2.gif

Well the idea with these lines(Spidey and Captain America legends) is that having a mixture of movie and comic figures and being tied to a movie retailers would order them and solve the availability issue. It worked with the Iron Man legends and it will most probably work with these ones I guess that's why they are bothering to show new product because they are confident with this new rebranding and tying legends to movies would solve the problem of stores not ordering the figures which was the reason mentioned for collectors not finding legends at retail.

It does make sense. It's a smart move by Hasbro to keep comic-based MLs out there on the shelves. I imagine if these are anything like the huge amount of Superman Returns figures out there right now, they should be distributed pretty well, and somewhat decent to find.

Except Black Cat. No way anyone is finding Black Cat except the people who devote WAY too much time to it.

I picked 3 of these up today from my local TRU. They were priced at around 19.99. There was only one case on the pegs, and I saw the whole wave (with an extra Spider-man and Superior Spider-man, iirc). I purchased Black Cat, Carnage, and movie Spider-man.

My impressions:

Spider-man- I like the figure, especially his slightly smaller stature. His smaller bodied sculpt reminds me more of a teenage Spider-man than any previous version I've owned, which I like. I'm sure it will look good with Ultimate Green Goblin, once I complete him.

Carnage: I've never owned a legends style Carnage figure until now, so I am impressed to finally own one. I also appreciate the use of the Bucky Cap body, which is perfect to me. The parts added to the basic body (tendrils and clawed hands) help to distinguish this as Carnage. He reminds me very much of the Maximum Carnage era, because the red is vibrant. It is worth noting that the back of the box features a picture of the Toxin figure as well. That figure looks to me like it uses the more stocky Hyperion body, and it features a darker red color without the black highlights. It also appears to lack the tendrils the Carnage has on his forearms and calves.

Black Cat: I only opened this figure for a second to remove the Green Goblin peace (am I the only person who is excited for him?). The figure looks pretty, which is unusual for an action figure. Also, it looks a little more full bodied in the hips than many female action figures. Her arms look a little short to me, but maybe that's because her torso is so long. Also, she has giant boobs. While the sculpt is mostly impressive, I felt no previous desire for a Black Cat figure (more of an MJ fan myself, or at least Gwen Stacy). Also there is a flaw in the figure that convinced me I didn't need to own this one, in spite of its beauty; heels. I never understood why every female action figure is wearing the least functional shoes possible for what they are expected to be doing. Huge boobs. I might have been convinced to keep her if she looked more like her 90's cartoon figure did. But if you're a fan of the character, or got duped into buying the older Toybiz legend, this is a more than worthy replacement. Boobs.

While I didn't pick him up yet and have 0 interest in the character, the Superior Spider-man figure also looks pretty cool. The sculpt looks a lot better than than recent Marvel Legends Spider-man figures to me(mostly due to the inclusion of the new hips [finally]). I hope they give him a new head-sculpt and release a standard, lighter blue and red Peter Parker Spider-man. Maybe include an extra Peter Parker head...
