I wonder why he didn't stay till the end of the motuc run?

Its possible he was being forced out... A lot of times people get the option of resigning before being fired to save face... We will never know for sure though...

That was my guess as well.

In the beginning, his bosses probably thought his shenanigans where beneficial to the brands he ran, the self proclaimed "Toyguru" persona, interaction with the fans, etc. But after a while, they probably figured his shortcomings outweighed his ability to earn the company substantial profit. e.g. having hundreds of customer cancelled Castle Grayskulls still up for sale, Bob Gale's bad press on the cheap Hoverboard, etc.

Scott thank you SOOOOO much for helping me relive my childhood with the MOTUC. You put up with all the crap from everyone, fans included, and you really made a mark in the toy industry.

I am sad to see you go but I also know you have to do what it best for you and your family. I know you put in some insane hours in this job and I appreciate you hanging in there as long as you did to give us the best action figures I have ever had and thank you for sticking with it to finish DCU and MOTUC lines.

Sadly, especially with the haters, I know you will only be appreciated now that you are gone.

Thank you Scott for all you did for us adult collectors. It will not be same without you!!!

My hopes and prayers are for you and your family.

LOL! I know... all the haters. blah blah blah.

Dude, take off the rose tinted glasses. The guy tarnished the property by adding his own Mary Sue characters in his own image, managed a line plagued with QC issues, took full credit while throwing the 4H under the bus more than once, and cost cut the hell out of the line. But yeah... those haters are gonna hate right? Those haters are just hating because they hate everything right? *shakes head* No amount of white knighting is going to shine a positive light on Scott Neitlich.

As much as I dislike the guy without him MOTUC would not have happened. I doubt he left for reasons many of you want him to have. He clearly is heading to another toy brand... probably to Hasbro if rumors are true. I am actually worried that 2016 will not go forward in this scale at all.

Is this sarcasm, or you not a Ghostbusters or DC fan?...what he did with Masters is easier to do WHEN YOU DONT HAVE TO PAY FOR THE RIGHTS TO THE PROPERTY. If he hadnt done it, some other twit in the company would have, and might not have made such an ass of himself by putting his face front and center? How's the old saying go "you can be the boss, or you can be our friend. But you cant be both?"

Thanks again for multiple variations of the Ghostbusters that killed the line before you made essential characters like Gozer and the Terror Dogs. Thanks again for holding key Batman characters like Ras Al Ghul and Poison Ivy captive to sell your subs, claiming they would never sell in stores. Thanks for Miss Martian. Thanks for the $30 Mxyzptlk. Thanks again for the opportunity to purchase 2 versions of Big Doomsday, even though we only bought the first one because you said the other would never see the light of day. Thanks for giving the casual fan the chance to buy a sub or not get Ram Man at all.

And most of all, when something didnt pan out, thanks for blaming lack of fan support right out of the gate. Every. Time.

He got poached by another toy company. I really hope it's not for anything I still collect,

I'm intrigued to see what someone else can do at the reins. Bios ought to at least be better, amiright?

Also, NO SON OF HE-MAN 2016!!!!! 2yay-thumb.gif893purpbanana-thumb.gif2yay-thumb.gif

I am curious, where did you hear he got poached?

While I think it unfair that Scott gets a lot of blame for problems at Mattel he really had no control over, I think its just as unfair to say without him something like MOTUC would never had happened. Scott was a marketing guy, and while I am sure he was an advocate and played a role in many aspects of these lines good and bad, its not like he was the sole decision maker with any of these things. Also I would say with about 90% certainty he's not going to Hasbro. His most likely destination is a company called Spin Master.

Neitlich is the founder of mattycollector.com, how does he NOT have control over the problems? The guy has an entire splash page devoted to himself on mattycollector.com... If that doesn't say, "I'm the boss", I don't know what does. This guy has been leading everyone to believe that he answers to people above him, and that he's not responsible for just about everything, unless of course if it suits him... then he assumes responsibility.

And I don't think he was "poached"... or headhunted. I'm sure he wore out his welcome and they gave him a few choices.

Have you ever worked at a large corporation?

Why? ... is this you feeble attempt to try and say that I'm off base? Or that I shouldn't talk because I've never worked at a big toy company? guitar.gif

Ok first why the additude? I asked a simple question trying to address a concern you stated. I'm not your enemy nor am I trying to justify anything to you really one way or the other. Honestly I could care less if you like or dislike Scott. But I asked the question because if you've never worked in a large corporate environment like Mattel it can be hard to understand that one person like Scott doesn't just snap their fingers and things happen. Even if Scott was the CEO of Mattel it still wouldn't quit work that way. Scott may have had the original idea for Mattycollector (which honestly IDK if he did or didnt) and he may have been a main advocate for it but that he had all control of it and everything that went on with it is just not an accurate statement.
