  1. Hey guys! I'm new to this board, but I see some familiar handles and avatars! I just thought I would post some of my work here! I hope you guys enjoy! Here is my most recent Alternators custom, Soundblaster (w/ Laserbeak)! Ever since I had gotten my extra Skids (mid December when he was released), I had this idea of making Soundwave/blaster. Since SW is blue, I thought that would be very redundant, so Soundblaster was the most logical choice. When I first started brainstorming for this guy, I had tenatively named him "DJ Blaster." After I saw the photos of GF Soundwave, I knew I had to use his head and accessories! As the project went on, I found myself for one of the few times wanting to try to go as strictly with the G1 SB color choices and such as best as I could without forcing details (like the hood or grill as a tape deck door or something). With this in mind, as I worked, I found the legs to be especially fitting for SW/SB. I also found myself pretty fond of the choice for blue on the legs, especially in contrast to the silver. It not only adhered to the G1 SB color guide, but it also gives a hint of SW in there too. I like the hint of SW being present, but not overtly. The G1 version also used the blue to break up the colors in much the same way; I don't think it looks out of place on the G1 version and it seems to work well here. I really wanted SB to look hip ("bling" even, if I must use the term), but also really cold at the same time. Totally blacking out the windows I feel just pushes that idea over the top. I also wanted him to have a breakcdandcing vibe to him while also seeming very modern. I was really excited when I had to make him a one-seater to make room for the soundsystem. This topped his namesake off in my eyes! Alt mode photos: Photo of Soundblaster's sound system (which rendered him a one-seater!) Photo showing all sound system accessories: Robot mode photos: "Laserbeak returns! Laserbeak, report!" Soundblaster vs. Broadblast, the Battle for Lumina! I hope you enjoy my work!
  2. Personally, this company is equipped to give TransFans a whole range of TF art. I love the manga-influenced art, but anything that is done over and over without any deviation gets old. I want a wide variety of TF art. I like to see a wide range of artistic interpretations - not just manga-style art all of the time. I heard that ###### Darrow is possibly going to be pursued as an artist . . . kudos to all of you guys for that idea! He is great and his obsessive-technical nature would be perfect for TFs. This is one reason that he is one of my inspirations for my own TF art. Getting a wide variety of art (not just one style) is my imput. Also, in terms of art, I think DW did a pretty good job amalgamating the toys and the cartoon designs. I would like to see original artistic interpretations (maybe leaning more on the toys or other working mechanical designs) explored. It seems as if G1 is definately covered. There has been talk of BW. I would love to see a RiD book (if only a one-shot or a mini). I still believe the whole reader's choice thing from DW was rigged, but that's my own opinion (and I'm entitled to it, neah!).
