Warrior was an inspiration who embodied severe intensity! His naturally intense personality was highly visible in his wrestling character; IT is what made him the success that he was. He may not have been the most technically gifted wrestler, but man did he make up for it with intensity and inspiration!

The Warrior will be missed. My prayers, condolences, and respect to him and his family.

I will Always Believe!

RIP

One of my childhood favorites has passed. Sad day indeed.

One of my favorite Warrior stories was when they filmed Saturday Night's Main Event in Austin, and he was running out and some fan grabbed a tassel and actually pulled him back!!! It was hilarious!! Of course he quickly continued cans dominated the match, Warrior style!!

- TMZ spoke to people that were with The Ultimate Warrior during WrestleMania weekend in New Orleans and they note that he looked to be in rough shape all weekend.

They noted that he appeared to be in constant pain, sweaty and looked very uncomfortable. It was apparent to the people around him that something was seriously off. People also took notice when Warrior looked weak after doing his signature rope shake on RAW.

One of their sources said, “We all felt like he looked like he was going to blow a gasket. It was pretty easy to see.”

- Jim Ross has a new blog on jrsbarbq.com with his thoughts on The Ultimate Warrior. Here’s part of what he wrote:

“The most memorable moment for me this past weekend in New Orleans was the interaction at the WWE Hall of Fame between Warrior and his two daughters who accompanied their Dad on stage just before he gave his induction speech. The love and bond between a father and his daughters was obvious and heart warming.

In an arena full of Warrior fans, many of who were reliving their youth with their hero, Warrior made it clear that his greatest accomplishment was not being the Ultimate Warrior but instead being the father of his two daughters.

In a career and life often marked by controversy, the beauty of the weekend was seeing Warrior come home to WWE accompanied by his family and that they were able to enjoy the celebration together.

I live with this mantra daily, “Tomorrow’s aren’t guaranteed for any of us.” Today, that philosophy is more meaningful than ever.

RIP Warrior

- Steve Wilson of Warrior Entertainment issued the following statement on The Ultimate Warrior’s death:

“Statement from Warrior Entertainment

I am shocked and profoundly saddened by the death of my friend Warrior. He was a great man and leaves behind a legacy that will forever live in the hearts and minds of those who knew him personally, and his legions of Ultimate Warrior fans.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Warriors beautiful family, his wife Dana and their daughters Mattigan and Indiana. No words are strong enough to express my feeling for them at this time.

I was honored to be able to spend the weekend with Warrior and his family at WrestleMania 30 and have never seen a prouder father or more loving family.

Warrior was the happiest I had ever seen him to bring Ultimate Warrior back home to WWE and share that unmistakeable passion and excitement with each and every Ultimate Warrior fan around the world.

I have lost my best friend and my hero but take comfort in knowing his legacy will live forever. I will Always Believe.

“I got a sense he wasn’t well. It was sad to me. He was kind of hunched over. He used to have such great posture. You just had this sense that he wasn’t well. But he was in great spirits. He came up to (other wrestlers) and gave them hugs.”

Triple H talked about Warrior’s passing:

“We are all grateful to have had the opportunity to get the closure with him, to work to get him back on that platform. Knowing him now, there could have been no better send-off, really, for him, than that. It was everything he would have dreamed off.”

yeah, you have to admit these guys live hard.

yes, they do live hard lives in deed. they work nearly every day of the year. between the gym, choreography/practice, matches, and traveling...they are some hard core mo'fo's and as you can clearly see by all the vets, it takes a massive toll on their bodies.

this is a little something i was inspired to make the other day. i call it, INTENSITY! it's an 11x14 piece of scratchboard. you scratch away the black ink to reveal the white clay underneath. it's kinda like drawing, but in reverse.

as sad as i am that the Ultimate Warrior is gone, i'm happy he went out the way he did...on his own accord. i'm glad he and the wwe mended fences.
