  1. Right, I know all of that. But given that the reporting article specifically said that he had been "headhunted" and was leaving his job for another position within the same industry at a(n unspecified) rival company, the use of the word "poached" is accurate. Now, if you don't believe that the article's reporting is accurate, then: 1. There's no point to debating this topic any further 2. You shouldn't link to the article on your website
  2. If you are headhunted while employed at a rival company in the same industry, and you quit your first job to take the second, you've been poached. If he had quit Mattel first and then got picked up by later, it'd be different.
  3. I am curious, where did you hear he got poached? If this comes off as a tad assholish, apologies in advance... ...but did anyone actually read the article that the news story on the front page linked to?
  4. He got poached by another toy company. I really hope it's not for anything I still collect, I'm intrigued to see what someone else can do at the reins. Bios ought to at least be better, amiright? Also, NO SON OF HE-MAN 2016!!!!!
  5. Totally gotta be a completely unflocked Moss Man with no alternate 200X head due to cost cutting.
  6. I'd be more interested if it was a new sculpt, and if said sculpt made him look like a zombie or half-dead ghost King Grayskull. Otherwise, it just reeks of a Star Wars toy rip-off, colours and all.
  7. This would be #5, although it's only the third widely available one. 1. SDCC King Grayskull 2. SDCC Bronze Variant 3. Super-rare Spirit (Blue) 4. King Grayskull (Red Cape) 5. King Grayskull Spirit (Green Chase)
  8. I hear that on the ankles. He-Man has to lean back into Castle Grayskull or else I'll find him on the floor 20 minutes later.
  9. Wow. No snake-half with 200X King Hiss. Fail. Snake-Armour He-Man looks good, though. It's a shame that he's paired with half of King Hiss.
  10. The most egregious thing about the skit was the anachronistic reference to Toy Story. Other than that, it was just an SNL skit. I can't imagine how anyone could possibly get butt-hurt over it.
  11. Yeah, but I still take issue with him speaking like an poor urban Londoner. That #$## makes my ears bleed - unless it's Vinnie Jones, who they may as well have just cast if they wanted to take Alfred in that direction. Take the joke as far as you can go. It'd be like if Geoffrey from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air was a street-speaking Butler. It worked for Will Smith because it was a fish-out-of-water comedy. That was his whole character's thing, but you couldn't have Jazzy Jeff playing the butler. It just doesn't make sense.
  12. Nothing. I just have standards. Yes, even for television.
  13. Wow, this is shaping up to be a train wreck of a half-ass written show. If the writer's put half as much effort into the dialogue and plot as they did token cameos that (outside of the Penguin, maybe) have no real purpose other than arbitrary, ill-timed fan-wanking, it might have been half-decent. The premise and universe of a pre-Batman Gotham has a lot of possibilities, and I'm not opposed to said universe having younger versions of Batman's rogue's gallery within it, but tipping your hand on Catwoman, Poison Ivy, the Riddler, the Penguin and possibly even the Joker all in the pilot is just a really poor sense of timing. Going from "case closed" on the Wayne murders to "frame job" to "must find truth" in the scope of 49 minutes is another example of bad writing and timing. You can't force the drama. You can't make a show good by overloading it with fan-fiction-esque cameos. It just makes the entire show seem contrived and amateurish. Oh, and whoever casted Alfred should be fired. I'm all for reinterpreting characters or even reinventing them, but only to a certain degree. You might as well make Bruce Wayne a Duck Dynasty trust-fund baby complete with all the charm of a swamp-bred denizen.
  14. Barbie-wise? Star Sisters, Frosta, and Netossa. I'm probably going to keep Castaspella if only for her magic effect piece, though I might just sell her sans accessory. I consider Adora, She-Ra, and Glimmer to be essential characters and worth owning.
  15. Wow. That sucks. Glad I opted out. And I hear ya on the POP Barbie collection. I've actually boxed all mine up, and once I find said box, I'll probably liquidate the #$## out of them on eBay. Good riddance.
