  1. HEARD IT FROM THE GRAPE VINE THAT IT WILL BE IN RHODE ISLAND NEXT YEAR BECAUSE OF THE GIJOE MOVIE JUST LIKE THE TRANSFORMERS MOVIE! I WILL BE THERE Yea, that's kind of the general consensus at this point. On one hand, it would be nice as we would get a chance to get a tour of Hasbro. Downside is the location. I can think of a lot better places to have a convention that would be more entertaining.
  2. I got the PPD just to "have it." It serves no purpose in my collection in terms of fitting in or having a place with all of the other GI Joes. (Sorry, no pimp street scene) This SDCC Cobra Commander, however, fits in well with the collection and has an actual applicable outfit (the suit) as you wouldn't expect CC to always be wearing his "costume." More of a realistic look (albeit he's still wearing the hood) for the Commander. Call it a lame figure if you want, I think this is a lot more imaginative and creative than PDD.
  3. Yea, teal would suck . . . if that were the color scheme.
  4. Ok ok . . . Let's try this one more time. I'm going to do it in all caps too. THE "25th STYLE" OF FIGURE IS THE STANDARD STYLE / CONSTRUCTION OF FIGURE HASBRO WILL BE USING FROM NOW ON. THIS INCLUDES WHAT STYLE THEY WILL USE FOR THE MOVIE FIGURES. ACCORDING TO HASBRO THERE WILL BE NO CHANGES IN THE FIGURE STYLE FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE. Got it? It's really simple. This is what we have for GIJoe 3 3/4, for better or for worse. Hasbro recognizes that fans were frustrated with the different styles of figures (JvC, VvV, DTC, etc) so they are going to keep the "25th style" of figure as the standard. Sorry if I'm being an ass, but people are apparently not reading what myself, Admiral Hunter, Kamen Dreda, and gcbr have been telling you. Like gscbr said, I think you are the one missing the point. Take Marvel Legends. Based on your argument I should be more then happy to buy X-Men movie figures simply because they are made in the same style and scale as the regular comic version X-Men Marvel Legend figures. That's not the case because I prefer the look of the characters in their true to form comic outfits and not the boring all black leather movie outfits. Thats not to say I don't enjoy the movies but when it comes to the toys I will take their comic outfits any day of the week. The same goes for GIJoe. I like their orginal 80's look which is what the 25th Anniversary line brings us as opposed to some generic costume we are likely to see emerge from the movies. So even though I think you're overstating how confirmed that the movie stuff will be done in the same scale and consturction style as what we have now, I don't think that is the main concern many of us have at the moment. There was no argument in my post. I was stating a fact that Hasbro's brand team told us at the convention that they were keeping the 25th build of the figures. That's it. Style of figure isn't changing. Anyway, most of the postings in this thread have been us trying to figure out exactly what your problem was (refer to gscbr's posts) But while we're talking about it, yes you should be very happy to buy them. When someone mentions 25th anniversary, they're talking figure style. For example, RAH is a figure style, JvC is a figure style. Characters will change costumes regardless. Look how many times people changed costumes in the comics that your marvel legends depict . . . how many different wolverines have there been? In that regard, a lot of GI Joe figures have had more than one costume in the comics. Plus your assuming that we're getting generic costumes from the movie. I don't know, Snake Eyes looks pretty true to his comic roots to me. Anyway, what Alyosha is saying is true. We're getting the "25th - style classic costumes figures" back in 2010. So you should be able to rest easy.

  6. Like Admiral Hunter said, they told us at the convention last year that they would keep the 25th style of figures for the foreseeable future, including the movie line. Again, they said they are keeping the 25th style for the movie toys.
  7. lmao. Yea, good bet there. I'll bet you a ViperCon set that this convention set will come in a box, with a picture on the front of what's inside! I don't know, maybe I'm the only one who's not to crazy about the Headhunters. I've never been a big fan, always looked like they were wearing those annoying English driver's caps and had gold earrings.
  8. You must be out of your mind, that would never happen. Sooooo ridiculous. You're a sick sick man. @smilepunch@

    hisstank.com

I get my news from there, yes. But I'll stick with JBL and TNI in terms of the people that inhabit the sites. Most of the people over at Hisstank (in a perfect description by cmnderinchief) act like they're in Junior High. I know there are adults that post there, but most act like they're 12.
  10. Hmmm... I don't know. Looks to super heroish to me. The spandex just doesn't look right. I like the mask portion but otherwise he looks more like Spider-Man then Snake-Eyes to me. Over at hisstank, they (meaning someone who has seen these pics and more) were saying that it was more of a batman-esque body suit than spandex. I don't know. I really like it, but then again I'm easy to please!
  11. Whew, I was just going to post this! There are two pics out now of Snake Eyes. It helps if the image is lightened up some, as I've done here. This is AMAZING. I can't wait to see him in action.
  12. I am not a fan of the HEAT viper. Both the colors and helmet are a real turn off for me. The Python Patrol one I can stand, but the helmet still bothers me. For me the Fast Blast Viper took the place of the HEAT Vipers. Gone is the awkward one sided helmet and bright colors. Instead you have a nice black undertow balaclava on a body of gray and black, perfect for urban situations.
  13. Online is definitely cheaper. If I ever find any Joes in the stores, like cobra troops or figures I need 2 of, I'll pick them up. But, seeing as how it's so costly to hit the stores day in and day out and they rarely have anything, that doesn't happen often. I can either go through a tank of gas at $57 a week looking for them, or I can spring the 7 or 8 bucks for shipping. Not a difficult choice to make.
  14. Wow, that's a wonderful attitude to take. But I guess if you're determined to keep thinking that the movie won't be any good and will not give it a chance, than it will be crap to you no matter what. But seeing as how we've seen NOTHING from the movie yet, you're jumping the gun pretty early there. If you had seen parts of the movie, then I would understand your opinion. Now, if it comes out, and it is crap, you can rub it in our faces all you want to. Just hang loose and see what happens. Might surprise you.
