  1. Hi all! We are doing our second GI Joe day at our shop in Chicago. We're a small space but we have a lot planned including letting folks come and set up tables and sell/trade their own stuff outside of our shop if they like (obviously weather permitting). We do have a few tables ourselves but those are first-come/first-served. Also, Tim Seeley will be on hand signing so if you have some GI Joe books he worked on, bring those by to have him sign. Sketches will probably happen as long as there's not too big of a demand and he has time to do some. For more info check out our site here http://www.toydejour.com/events or the Facebook event page - https://www.facebook.com/events/211448479377282/ There will be food/drinks, trivia w/prizes, giveaways and a buncha other Joe fans to chat with!
  2. Just as the topic says, here's a review with some photos. Pretty solid wave. (The gallery is at the bottom of the review for those like me that just want to see a bunch of pics). Toy de Jour #306 - Marvel Legends Hobgoblin wave
  3. We just released our second 18" x 24" screen printed poster based on toy accessories! "I Have an Axe!" is inspired by the most powerful accessories in the universe! These are limited to only 50 prints and available either online on our site here, or at our brick and mortar location in Chicago. We're doing the reverse sliding pricing again, meaning if you want #50 of 50 it's only $1 plus shipping and handling, if you want #49 of 50 it's $2 + s&h and so on. The longer you wait, the more expensive the prints will get. Or if you're a collector that must have the best, #1 and the other low numbers are available right away too. Thanks for looking! -Sam
  4. Sure they're LBC but they're super fun and easy. This also doesn't play out right because Scratchy wins and it's not supposed to end that way. I just liked the idea of him being out numbered by Itchies. I also think I like them as a biker gang, the one SW figure is out of place but he's the more civilized of the group. Toy de Jour (298) Itchy & Scratchy action figures - Toy de Jour
  5. I'm a fan of anything that mentions golobulus... Nice work man! I'll be looking for the full length when it's released. -Sam
  6. I don't remember hearing about these figures - http://i.toynewsi.com/g/index.php?mode=view&album=Finds%2FGIJoe_4&pic=388762_169609593136147_158466830917090_306097_560836244_n.jpg&dispsize=800&start=0 Sam
  7. Grabbed He-Man/Superman that I've been missing, so thanks for letting us know. Does anyone know if TRU will give refunds on the ones bought at full price if I bring back my receipt? I grabbed Stratos and Merman and sort of regret spending so much on those. Well, not Merman, but definitely Stratos... -Sam
  8. Well I was born in St. Louis so I've got Duke, Storm Shadow (per some filecards) and Spearhead (who was in Kirkwood I believe, and is very close to St. Louis). I know back at DDP I would fight for Storm Shadow's birthplace to be St. Louis and they'd never give it to me. -S
  9. Whoa, weird - it signed me into my old qeelocke account that I couldn't remember the credentials for. Straaaaaange.
  10. Well done. I didn't quite get the D&D references off the bat, but hey, that's what google is for. Any chance you'll be doing a write up for Count Marzo? Somehow I feel he'd be at home in this universe. I probably won't review Marzo, I'm going to get him, yes - but I don't like to do too many full reviews on the same toy lines. And I've already done Faker & Keldor now.
  11. I have a carded City Strike Snake Eyes that I'd like to trade straight up for a ROC Kamakura. PM if you're interested. Thanks! -Sam
  12. This may be old news, but did anyone notice the Mech shadow that's coming off of Gristle? Sorry to bring something up if it's already been talked about. -S
  13. I spotted this at a WalMart in St. Louis last weekend, with Star Wars figures. And I've noticed it there numerous times before this, so I finally brought it to someone's attention. Usually they've been using one of the old storm troopers (I personally don't understand returning troop-builders) from 97 or so. But this most recent trip, I saw a rather interesting swap. Someone bought the figure, painted it, and then returned it. I was going to bring it to the attention of the customer service desk to pay attention more, maybe compare the image of the character to the one being returned, but they really don't know these characters enough to do that. They really should inspect the package more when taking returns though. But at the customer service desk the line was like 10 people deep and I didn't feel like waiting so I showed the woman stocking in the toy section and pointed out what was wrong with each package. There were three this time. I bet I'll see them next time too though...
  14. The 36B cover is by Herbe Trimpe, which I'm hoping rings a bell for most of you. I'm sure going to miss this. @smilepunch@
  15. Hey all - I've started a toy review website and the newest listing is of the Mighty Mugs figure of Darth Vader. Check it out. -Sam
