Hey where did all the Red on Flint go?

croc.jpg

Eel trooper is Swish.

Another Scarlet shoudnt have been made yet where the F is Cover Girl?

$20 says that we don't get a CG. I know what you mean though. I'd like any of the females that haven't been made yet before another Scarlet, Baroness, or Lady Jaye.

I wish we would get Jinx. That way Hasbro has an excuse to repaint her as Vypra and those twins. Were they just called the Vypra twins? They did look really nice in the 6 pack so I would not mind seeing them again. Plus they can make a martial arts Scarlett and maskless Jinx. You'de think the possibility or repainting Jinx would be enough for them to do her.

I really want Cver Girl and Zarana first though. I'd take Cover Girl with two heads. One for the cartoon and one like the original. Heck, even a third with long dark hair.

I really like them all and plan to buy them all.

Something tells me Flint will be sold out all the time just like all the friggin BATS are now!!!

I've never been a big Flint guy, especially cartoon-wise, so I'm actually ok with just the Tiger Force one from wave 8. That Eel puts the Cobra Divers from Wave 12 to an even deeper pit of shame! Airborne would be more of a must for me if I had a helicopter, or a distant childhood memory of him (cool character though). Zartan kicks 7 kinds of behind and shall be acquired, same with "Physical" Scarlett. I like the MASK reference, but they won't get my $8 over it-- thanks but no thanks!

Overall, that's two figures for me to look for at Target, the same as pretty much any wave these days (though Wave 10 is far more tempting).

It's going to be five ...maybe just THREE or four... out of six for me ...and two of those are going to be Flints!

Airborne is an absolute must have! Not only do I really like the character but Hasbro shows with this one what they can really do when they really try. Excellent all the way around.

The Eel looks great. This is another one that shows off what Hasbro can do when they aren't just cobbling together repaints. This one is all about the accessories.

I like Flint in Cobra disguise and with the alternate head, I've got a new addition to my Cobra troops.

Pilot Scarlet is a big maybe. I like the figure but I don't know if she's an absolute necessity. I never had a Glenda ...and until this figure I never knew a Glenda existed... so the nostalgia factor isn't there for me.

I never cared for Zartan so this will be a pass.

I really appreciate what Hasbro is doing with the MASK guy but at EIGHT bucks, it's time to pare down the buying to the essentials. The fat must be trimmed somewhere and Matt Trakker might be it.

I like Glenda, even though I'll have to re-paint her hair and make a new label for her stand.

Airborne and EELS are knocked straight out of the park. I may army build BOTH.

Zartan is OK, but I never had a problem with the first. May get him for the skier though.

Flint in Cobra Gear is a waste in my opinion, and with two new troopers coming out in the DVD packs, I have no need of another single carded one.

Tracker looks OK, but I'm not a MASK fan. I may get him for a technoviper custom, or if he looks better in person, but probably not.

Glenda is a must get for me. This was one repaint I really hoped for and Hasbro really delivered. Now all we need is undercover Scarlett.

I like Zartan so I'll get him. Not my favorite but he's nice. I'm probably one of the few here who really liked the first one and that will remain my default.

Matt Trakker is a definate skip. I'm happy for everyone who wants him but a MASK figure has no place in my joe universe.

Airborne and Eels are both awesome. No complaints here.

Flint's another definite skip. Just a wasted spot to me. I really think something this nichey should have been in a dvd pack and not on a single card. At any rate, Ithink Hasbro's gotten more than it's moneys worth out of the trooper mold and should think about retiring it soon.

Does any one here think that the Matt figure is Hasbro’s way of telling us that a MASK line of toys is coming soon? I never purchased any of the MASK toys in the 80’s but I had several friends who did. Putting out Matt would be an interesting way for Hasbro to test the waters to see what the response is. @?@

I think you're right. I still have my original MASK toys locked up somewhere :) But I think is nice to see them back (IF they come back at all), I'll be getting Matt for sure. I always wonder what happened to them but never thought Matt would be joining GI JOE :)

I could have sworn that Hasbro already said no Cover Girl on a past Q/A, besides they can't use her name any more, nobody remembers her, and we got a pretty awesome one recently in the DTC Comic Pack with Spirit and the Clone Kid. If we did get a new Cover... er... I mean "Agent Courtney Krieger", I'd prefer she was blonde like in M.A.S.S. Device so that she wouldn't look so much like Scarlett. I have already professed my undying love for this Pilot Scarlett in a previous thread (Don't tell my wife! :) ).

I wonder if Hasbro might be persuaded to make a Scarlett or Lady Jaye in CG's costume with an interchangable blond head, a la the Flint in this wave. Call it a 'Covert Ops' figure. Sure, the name on the stand and card would be wrong, but it would be a great way to make the character happen. The collectors are the ones who want her, they'll know who it really is, so they'll get her, and it allows Hasbro to put out another Scarlett or LJ, so they're happy too. Everyone wins.

This is something like the dozenth character I've figured out a 'back door' for just today. By just 'dressing up' some of the characters, Hasbro puts out what appears to be more A-listers to the casual observer/buyer, and collectors get more character expansion, albeit indirectly. The only mar is that the name on the card/stand won't match who the fans know it to really be.

That's been the general train of thought since it was first revealed. Hasbro swears it's just a one-shot thing, but we all know they can smell our money, and if interest is high enough, they'd just be sheer idiots not to. Personally, I think they should dig out all the JvC/Spy Troops/VvV molds and FrankenJoe them into the MASK characters- most of the sculpts would probably be better used for that then they were for Joes. Some of the Joe vehicles from over the years could even be pressed into service as MASK vehicles with little to no modification. Cobra Mountain, with a little work, could be a passable Boulder Hill (the headquarters of MASK). Since the villains are a group called VENOM, you can even get away with leaving snake motif, as long as it's on the 'bad guy' vehicles.

Doesn't matter why she is wearing leg warmers anyway, I like her sculpt and will buy this figure.

You know it's the same sculpt as the other Scarlett, underneath that added gear....leg warmers included?

I think the Matt Trakker is more of a test to see what we think of him first. Hasbro might be waiting to see how well he goes over before going all out on a return.

I may not have collected any of the MASK toys but from what I remember I wouldn't be bothered by a few inclusions in the current Joe line. I could even see a possible sub-set that combines aspects of both lines, like Python Patrol or Tiger Force. I guess we will just have to wait and see. #US1#

I dunno about the whole mask thing. Hasbro is primarily selling these to kids after all.... so unless there is going to be a mask movie or cartoon or something i don't see them making them as the only people who buy them would be the very few people who collect joes and liked the old mask figures

We wont see a return of M.A.S.K. It's out dated and relies heavly on Vehicles which would be expensive in this scale.

I wouldnt want M.A.S>K with out the Vehicles.

Now maybe they could modernize the cars to more updated models, and keep the same switch modes. A new and smarter cartoon

and make it more sucessful then the original.

I doubt they would do it... even though alot would by 1:18th scale stuff for both Joe and Starwars ... collectors do Cross-lining.

What is up with the Bigbadtoystore.com?!! I preordered 2 Flints (Wave 1) figures months ago and they kept moving the dates up after the advertised date expired. I mean, COME ON, ALREADY!!! I preordered them back in June. I even preordered the other waves set and Walmart get them while BBTS still listed them as preorder, so I had to buy them and cancelled the BBTS preorder since they seem to have a hard time accepting orders anyway. I know this got nothing to do with the above article but I'm curious if any of you Joes fans have the same problems.

Hasbro promised to release Zap and Short Fuse before the end of the year. Short Fuse 1st version will be included in a Target exclusive battlepack along with the Mobat and yet-another Hiss tank, if I'm not mistaken. I've seen pictures of Short Fuse around this site... I don't know... It looks like the comic book version (which I love), but with Grunt's gear!? I haven't seen Zap around.

Zap is in one of the Wal-Mart lists or unrevealed lineups or something like that, as 'Omega Force Zap'. All indications are that this will be based on the Resolute designs... To my knowledge, we haven't seen what Zap looks like in that yet, so it may or may not be like the original.

Who is doing the artwork now for the cards? I mean it's looks cheap and basically sucks... The artwork used to be something decent but now it's looking more like Funskool artwork...

The thing about M.A.S.K. is the vehicles (more so then the masks).

Would that not be cool if they had the old M.A.S.K. vehicles, but 4" sized?

You better believe it!!! I love and have the originals and would fully support new releases!!!

Yes, I've been waiting for Matt Trakker since they announced the possibility long ago. He looks awesome! I too would fully support a new M.A.S.K. toy line! The originals were one of my favorite toys as a kid and I still have a handful of them. I would love to at least see Condor or a couple of the smaller ones that Hasbro could easily and cheaply test market to see if there is an audience. I know I would be part of it.
