It is mainly. It's no secret that Seth MacFarlane is a hardcore liberal, but he IS making the attempt to poke fun at both sides. The jokes are there so long as you're looking. But the "politics" thing is basically THE thing the separates American Dad from Family Guy, so if you don't like political humor from either side, I wouldn't bother watching. I watched it again last night and personally I think it has promise. The whole "Paul Lind" alien thing may be over the heads of anyone either not old enough or geeky enough (I'm the later) to appreciate the reference. But I'm also a political junkie, so I'll be watching until Fox yanks it mid-season.

The Stand... LOVED IT. I've read it five times now. His best ones besides (IMO) are It, The Shining, and Needful Things.
