They could rename those troopers as the new Crimson Guard

Any new Crimson Guards should be Crimson Guards, not recolored Troopers. I like these guys as red Troopers (NCO's?) and Officers, but not as an entirely seperate class of agent.

Tom

That is what my Resolute Soldiers already represent in my collection. It was the only way for me to justify the difference is how they look from the other troops. So basicly, Troopers are Grunts (Pvt - Sgt ranks) Cobra Officers are Lieutenants, and the Resolute troops are Captains. Not sure how much higher the red troops can rank before shouldering in on the position held by Major Bludd.

I actually love the black and red Cobra Commander. I can't see the Duke figure very well enough to see what I want to do with him in my collection. Right now, the first Resolute Duke stands in my collection as a no name Joe.

Technically the ranks go (if you include absolutely everything):

Private

Corporal

Sergent

Ensign (first officer rank)

Lieutenant

Commander

Captain

Major

Lt. Colonel

Colonel

and then a bunch of generals (not sure there)

So you could throw the red guys in as ensigns or commanders without pushing against Bludd.

Are you talking about actually Army ranks? Cause if you are you missed a few and added in a Navy rank as well (Ensign).

In any case, I think this set looks pretty darn good, and I'll probably pick one up and use the red troopers as officers as well. The Duke and CC figure look pretty darn good also.

I kinda like the idea of the different ranks. It gives us the opportunity to make use of the different colors of the Rainbow Brigade. As it stands, the only differentiation I have is the two different types of Crimson Guard (singles/rank 3 pack and 5 pack).

I think Cobra doesn't really worry about that kind of differentiation though, that is Army and Navy.

He included the Navy ranks to show that there were other ranks the red troops could be. As for skipping ranks, he meerly didn't mention the ranks that repeat, such as all the different SGT ranks. It is just easier to say SGT and intend it to include all of them.

the tint over the glass alone makes it look more realistic. Is there any kind of wash i could put over my regular bats plate to make them do that? I'm thinking about custimizing my original looking bats to be more in line with this one.

That BAT is beautiful. There's just a very inhuman Terminator/Cylon feel about it that I don't think the normal BATs really capture. Those are scary, but this guy, he's a killing machine. Pun intended!

As for tinting the BAT's window, try mixing just a little black paint (or some form of shading ink) with the sealant/finish of your choice. Find a spare translucent part and put a little bit on so you can see how it dries. If it's not dark enough, add a drop or two of black paint until you get the desired shade.

For added fun, try colors other than black. You can really get some neat colors for canopies, optics, and so on with this method... and the best part is that since it's part sealer, it's pretty darn durable.

Here is a slightly alternative method. And because it mentions Future Finish, and I tend to agree that it's teh awesome, here's that article too.

thanks for the info! Unfortunately wal-mart around here doesn't carry the testors stuff so i'll have to wait a bit to get the sealant. I honestly rarely used the stuff with my customs and left mine at my old place.
