G.I.Joe Wave 7 Single Carded Figure Images

The ultimate compromise for Duke and Snake-Eyes: A cool Scarlett for Each! Seriously though, that Scarlett and Zartan have gone beyond just geek-friendly repaints to be great versions in their own right, and that Airborne keeps looking better every time. The Eel's greatness may remain unsaid for it is obvious.

Airborne is a must for me, as is the Eel and Matt. I'm also getting glenda, even if I have to repaint her hair. Zartan dissappoints in sculpt to me, but I'll get him for the swamp skier. I'll pass on Cobra Flint though, unless he cmoes with a trooper head to army build.

From the look of this image I would say that he does.

Excellent! I can now build that COBRA summer dress uniform army I've always wanted! Casual Friday at the Terrordrome!

this wave really dissappoints me, not single new sculpt in the bunch.

Hasbro is getting further and further away from what made me like this line....

I was buying 2 of each, then in wave 8 it was just one, then back to 2 of each for wave 9, and for wave 11... its like meh... I dont even know if I want half of them.

Cobra EEL is one of my favorite RAH figures... but dang, that added-on piece looks terrible on the Torpedo body.... its so awkward, just like Barbecue's added-on piece was totally wack.

Airborn was one of my favorite RAH figures too.. but it doesn't feel like Airborn to me for some reason at all.

I wanted Zartan in his original outfit, but the SDCC one looks like crap.

I never wanted a Flint in cobra gear, a fixed v1 Flint would be appreciated though.

And Pilot Scarlett doesn't get me either...

from the SDCC pics, they all look crappy to me... The touched up pics look better.. but who knows what we will actually be getting.

The Eel looks good to me, and Zartan is EXCELLENT!, glad they changed the color of the hood and got rid of that clear part on his chest plate, the tips of the hood still bother me but easily fixable and a minor complaint, im extremely happy with this version and i hope they dont change him again before hes released. This is the ultimate Zartan in my book. The other figures in this wave i dont really care about except the Eel, better off that way i can save money.

-Correction, my "definitive"version would be the one like my avatar, silver chest plate and thigh plates, black boots and shin guards. Looks like ill have a few extra Zartans anyway i can always customize him

Can't we just call it "Wave 11" like everyone else? :P

I don't care what Hasbro calls it..."25th anniversary wave 7 of 2008" makes sense to Hasbro alone. lol

Huh??? Airborne looks awesome.

That's why they fixed it.

The only thing I really remember Airborne from is throwing the parachute at Falcon in the movie. Not feeling like a really must-have char or figure for me, but it does look interesting.

Flint just tickles my funny bone 'cause of Revenge of Cobra.

The Eel is definitely at the top of my list though since he's the ONLY figure I ever bought during the '80s from the entire GI Joe franchise (it never occurred to me back then that they would stop selling certain figures, including the ones I wanted, after a while so he was all I ever got). The headgear and mask do look a little oversized but I've been extremely pleased with the entire line so far and he looks terrific on all the issues that matter to me.

Pilot Scarlett is a maybe, but I do like her headsculpt over the first ones.

Trakker is a must since I was into MASK. (I'll fantasize that they'll release Mayhem and Switchblade again.)

Zartan looks a little cartoony for my tastes (which I guess sounds strange considering I'm mostly a fan of the Sunbow show). I do like that they keep throwing in more mask disguises for him. He could have an entire disguise set! Is that swamp skier the original mold?

Yeah, I suppose that if Zartan really wanted to disguise himself, he'd put on just a regular button-down shirt! "Uh... great abs you got there, Sgt. Hauser!"

I think that it was lift ticket that did that?

Ohh... wait. That's right. Airborne was the... guy with the little brother with paranormal abilities?

I remember Airborne best from the comics. He had some great zingers. The Indian/Native American label was something of a running gag with him, as well as his... lack of charm, shall we say.

Issue 11: Airborne is picked up by Snow Job, Doc, and Snake-Eyes, riding the Polar Battle Bear. Snakes has previously pointed a gun at Doc for trying to remove his mask.

Airborne: Howdy. Call me Airborne. Real name's Talltree, Franklin E.

Snow Job: Talltree. Than an Indian name?

Airborne: No. It's Native American. What kind of name is "Snake-Eyes"?

Doc: Don't ask.

Issue 31: Destro, Firefly, and Fred attack Snake-Eyes in his cabin. Airborne and Spirit come running from their guard post nearby.

Airborne: Hang on, Snake-Eyes! The Cavalry is here!

Spirit: WHAT?!

Airborne: It don't make any sense to say "The Indians are here!"

See what I mean?

Now that we got Zartan in his original outfit, what are we gonna get for the Hall of Heroes version? A complete Devils Due look? cartoon look? hmmm.....i wonder

In the comic, they used virtually the same costume, but his entire torso and shoulderpads (which often weren't as detailed) were colored silver. I always thought that looked more functional (armored and would reflect light for his holograms) and less... belly-shirt. It's a simple change I wouldn't mind buying him twice for.

Does any one know if they will be releasing the swamp skiers with any other figures, I want four, one for Zartan and three others for the dreads?

Back in the 83 they only released the skier with Zartan himself as the driver. I wouldn't expect it to come with any other characters. It's his signature and usually exclusive vehicle.

Ripper and Torch were on the latest list as single carded figures, they could have swamp skiers and be labeled as cartoon figures.
