    What the heck?

Hey, I live in that same back water town in TN too. Unfortunately, I've had about the same amount of luck finding these figures as well. I have a friend that checks Wal-Mart in Oak Ridge every day on his lunch break and he's not seen anything in 2 months of checking.
  2. I'm thinking about going as Flint this year. Just having trouble finding the harness he wears for his shotgun shells.
  3. Yea, I've not actually seen W1 in stores. I had to have a friend that checks Wal-Mart on his lunch break pick up my W1. Beyond that the shelves around here have been bare. I was kinda suprised when I saw W3 today, since I was figuring on atleast finding W2 first.
  4. Yea, I was somehow lucky enough to find all of Wave 3 today at Target. Sadly, I've yet to see Wave 2.
  5. Hey thanks! Even though I don't post but once every blue moon, I'm still here reading everyday.
  6. Actually, Nashville is no where near the Redneck capital of the world, despite it being the so called home of country music. As far as the civil war mentality goes, not even close, try going straight South into certain parts of Alabama for that kind of thinking. Nashville itself isn't bad though. I have several friends that have moved out there for the large amount of work that is to be found out there. A lot more opportunities there than there are in Knoxville.
  7. And all of this is why I really wish they had just wiped the slate clean with this one, and start from scratch like Batman Begins. Give us a good origin story, even if we know it by heart, and while we've got a great actor for Lex, give us the business man Lex and Lexcorp. But ah well, its to late now, guess I'll wait for another 10 to 15 years and hope for another inevitable Hollywood reboot.
  8. Cool, thanks for the responses so far guys, keep em coming. I've got all week to get as much information as possible before I actually have to start writing the paper.
  9. Hey guys, I'm in the process of writing my 2nd paper for my English 102 class, and I'm in need of a little help. The focus of the class is the concept of the American dream and the American way of life, and different ways of interpreting this idea. My first paper was about my perspective of it, and the perspective of it from an American point of view. My 2nd paper is more about seeing things from outside of the box, this is where I need the help now. I've got several questions I'm going to ask, and I need input from those of who are from other countries. Doesn't matter if you've never been to America or if you were born in another country and moved to America later in life. The important thing is I get the perspective from outside of the box, and I know there are quiet a few forum members here from other parts of the world, so this was the best place I could think of to get my research information. Here's my questions, and if you need me to elaborate a little more on anything, just let me know. 1. Have you ever heard of the idea of the American dream before? If yes, how were you first introduced to the concept? Was it explained to you or did you formulate your own idea of what it is? If no, let me know that you've never heard of it, then skip to question 2. 2. What is the American dream to you? What does it mean to you? What do you think it means for Americans? If you answered no to question 1, based just off the words "American dream" what do you think it means? 3. How do you view American culture? Just an open ended question basicly, how do you view it? How does it compare to your own culture, is it similar or different? That's all the questions I have for the moment. I do ask that you please keep politics out of your responses and keep it strictly to the questions at hand. Also when you give your response if you could just let me know where you are from it'd be appreciated, especially since my research information needs to be from the viewpoint of people outside of the box so to speak. Finally if any Americans wish to respond to this your more than welcome to for the sake of the discussion.
  10. They are in the Knoxville, TN area now. Just picked up all 4 basics at the Wal-Mart off Kingston pike. No Prime and Megs tho....
  11. How do you know this, exactly? And why is it that nearly all screenshots look like Gamecube games with some DX9 style filters tacked on? This is the only one I feel the need to respond to. How do I know this exactly? Cause it's been stated in interviews, duh! lol As for the rest of your post? No need to respond to anything else. Given the rest of your ramblings, my defense shot holes through your initial post, leaving you with nothing. Anything further would be feeding an obvious forum troll. So have a nice day, kid.
  12. Yea, pretty much. Here's a nifty Wii Cost Calculator that n-sider had up, and for the less than the cost of the PS3, just the system alone, I was able to get the system, an extra wiimote, nunchuck, classic controller, 4 games, and 2000 virtual console points. I mean come on, it doesn't get much better than that.
  13. Wrong, wrong, wrong. You clearly don't get it. SNES debuted at $250. So it's not the most expensive Nintendo console ever, it's just equaled a price point Nintendo has already hit. When developers refer to the system being essentially the same as the Gamecube they aren't referring to graphics. They are referencing the ease of programming, and how similar in structure it is to programming for the Gamecube. As far as graphics go, kid, graphics aren't everything. Period. The Nintendo DS is a testament to that fact. And even in graphics, when you claim its nothing more than a Gamecube. It's alot more powerful than a Cube. May not be some massive leap in technology like an XBOX360 or a Playstation 3, but it is an improvement. In the end it is all about the gameplay, and I have no problem paying for it. Especially when it is a good deal. I mean you do get a free game, that isn't just a bunch of demo's. Duh, do your homework. It may not be some big 50 dollar title, it's meant to be more of a budget title like Brain Age Academy, but not just demo's. lol The controller is worth it all to me, just cause it's a new way to play, and given the success of the touchscreen on the Nintendo DS, the opportunities are unlimited. You just don't recognize a good deal. Analysts were predicting 200 to 219 price range anyway, just seems your crying over 30 extra bucks. On a system that would cost you atleast 200 anyway, cry me a river. Oh yeah, SNES games are not going to be 10 bucks. They'll be 8. 10 bucks are for the N64 games. Which their VC price points seem like a good deal to me considering that's about what they'd cost used, and with the VC your getting a new game copy, not some untrustworthy used edition.
  14. Yea, I agree. lol It was definately a fun movie, just leave your mind at the door and enjoy the ride.
