  1. Ren: How much do you want for a PD Destro? I tried PMing you, but your box is full.
  2. I'm trying to finish up my JVC Joe set. Help a brutha out: http://forums.toynewsi.com/index.php?showtopic=2045135
  3. Hey guys, few of you probably remember me (or care). Product became scarce, new information was nowhere to be found, and my interests wandered. Could anyone tell me what's been going on with GI Joe for the last year or so? Was any more product ever released past Wave 3? Is Sigma 6 still Hasbro's main Joe product? Is the term "Hasblow" still in effect? Are we still getting a billion Dukes, Cobra Commanders, Storm Shadows, and Snake Eyesesesesess? What's the scoop? And what the Hell happened to TNI? I'm frightened and confused by this new look and format. Ah well, at least the emoticons are still the same.
  4. Welcome back! What're you going to do now that you're home?
  5. Just wondering if anyone knew. I missed out on the Viper Lock Down set, Devil's Due Comic Pack, and Wave 3, is it likely they'll get any of those back in, or am I pretty much screwed?
  6. Yeah, it did that to my post about redirection problems, and it was linked to Lord of the Rings crap. Please get rid of these. Please.
  7. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but whenever I click on one of the links in the Joe News section, I get redirected to the forums. Am I doing something wrong? I'm using IE if that matters. Sorry if this has already been talked about.
  8. I didn't actually buy a TV. I was going to buy it from ABC Warehouse, but when I came back, the guy upped the price $70, so I turned him down.
  9. A few days ago, I was looking to buy a TV. I was in Ohio (I live in Michigan) in ABC Warehouse looking at a particular model (The Sony 34XBR970), and I find out that its on sale for $870. I decide that I will go to another ABC Warehouse (one located in my state, because Sales Tax is less and would save me about $10-15). So I go to the closest ABC Warehouse in Michigan, and see that they have it marked at $1200, the standard retail price. I ask the salesman if they have it on sale, because another store in their chain had it on sale. The guy leaves to find out, and comes back a few minutes later, saying they will sell it for $870. He tries to get me to buy it on the spot, but I thank him for his time, and say that I was going to check Best Buy down the street to see what they had it for, because this is the first store I had checked. The guy leaves again and comes back saying that his manager says he can sell it for $800. I again thank him for his time, but repeat what I said earlier. I add that "I'll consider it, but I still want to look around a little first." I go to Best Buy, and they can't match the price, so I comeback no more than 15 minutes later, saying I will buy the TV from them. The salesmen then tells me "My manager has left, so I can sell it to you for the original sales price of $870." I turned him down and left. The sale has since ended and the TV is back up to $1200. So my question is, if I call up the store and complain to the manager, do you think I can get it for $800? I'm guessing probably not, but any ideas/advice is welcome.
  10. I'll buy one eventually (assuming there are games on it I want). I'll probably wait to buy one for a few reasons: 1. Price (I know, I know, everyone else has already bitched about this, so I wont say anything else.) 2. Sony's Reputation: Remember tipping your PSX upside down, because it wouldn't work right-side up? Remember Disc Read Errors on your "fat" PS2? Remember all those dead pixels when you powered up your brand-new PSP with 1.5 Firmware, and then being told you couldn't exchange it because GameStop is a bunch of douchebags? Yeah, me too. But like an abusive, alcholic husband, Sony's changed, and will never slip back into its old ways... @hmmm@ 3. Games: Right now, the only game I've heard about that has me interested is the new MGS game, but why bother buying it for $60 when it comes out, when Konami will release a better and enhanced "Limited Edition" version a year or so later?
  11. The SNES was released in 1991 (or therabouts), approximately 2 years after the Sega Genesis. While the SNES was technologically superior (in most cases) to the Genesis, it failed to out-sell the Genesis (until Sega ended support of the Genesis in favor of the Saturn in 95/96, or therabouts), because the Genesis had already established itself as "the next big thing" by the time the SNES was released. I think the PS3, if it proves successful at all, will end up like the SNES; fairly popular and enjoyed by many, but trailing behind in sales compared to its biggest rival (360). The reasons I think this: Comparisons between the PS3 and SNES: Like the SNES, the PS3 is being released significantly later after its main rival (360). Like the SNES, the PS3 seems to be only marginally superior to its rival. (From what I have seen so far. I could be wrong.) Like the SNES, the PS3 will cost more at launch than its established rival, which results in the PS3's loss of the "budget crowd" (or people who just buy whatever current generation system is cheaper.) Comparisons between the Genesus and 360: Like the Genesis, the 360 is being perceived as the cool thing to have by kids/teenagers. Like the Genesis with Sonic, the 360 has a flagship series exclusive to the platform that draws in the casual gamer (Halo) Like the Genesis, the 360 is (suposedly, because I haven't played a PS3 yet) technically inferior to the PS3. Now don't get me wrong, I expect the PS3 will sell very well at launch. Sony still has a pretty large group of supporters (much like Nintendo did at the time of the SNES's launch), but I think for the reasons above, they will lose some (possibly most) of the casual crowd of people who aren't loyal to a particular company (the people that, back before backwards compatibility would trade in their old system and games for the new one).
  12. My PSP has 1.5 Firmware, which apparently is the best for running emulators, homebrew, and such, but it means I can't play most games released commercially for the PSP. I'm unsure what I should do. I haven't used my 1.5 to run any emulators/homebrew/whatever, but the thought of not being able to (at least not as well) makes me hesitant to upgrade. On the other hand, most of the newer PSP games wont run on my PSP unless I update the firmware. What do you think I should do? Keep 1.5, update, what?
  13. So PAL games will display properly on an NTSC PS3? I remember that was an issue with older systems (particularly the Saturn).
  14. Ugh. I hate when they do stuff like that.
  15. I heard that the PS3 wont have region lock-out, meaning you can play Japanese games on your US system, etc. This got me wondering though, will PAL (European) games work on an NTSC (US) system? PAL and NTSC are 2 different TV formats, and from what I have heard in the past are incompatible with each other. Have I heard correctly about PAL being incompatible with NTSC equipment, and if so, does that mean PAL games still wont work on an NTSC system because of that, despite there being no region lock-out?
