Anyone here use mylar sleeves?

After nearly twenty-five years of being a serious comic collector, I just recently discovered Mylar sleeves. I absolutely love them. I love their sturdiness and how slick they look, and they don't wrinkle-up like the poly bags do. My question is this though: How are you supposed to seal them exactly? Are you just supposed to bend the top flap over like the poly bags, or are you supposed to make a crease along the edge of the backing board? I did the latter when sealing my books, but it suddenly occurred to me that I don't like the fact that I put a crease in it where there wasn't one. Does anyone have any good tips on how to seal them without creasing or damaging them? Thanks for any help!

Well, I don't know if I would go so far as to store all of my books in Mylar sleeves. Right now I've just hand-picked a few select favorites to store in them. I probably don't have as big a collection as most collectors due to the sporadic nature of my collecting, so it's not like I have thousands of books to maintain. But thanks for the response GMP. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't sealing them wrong.

I remember in the comic shop, a couple guys were going back and forth on taping or not taping when they bag and board them. I personally don't tape them anymore and just fold them over... I tried the self sticking ones and didn't like them. I think for mylar you just leave them... it'd be nice to have an official answer though, lol.
