  1. Jay changed my user name! With my permission of course. But don't worry, I'll always be Mandalorian30 at heart. ;-)
  2. Castle Grayskull and Metroplex both look awesome to me. I'm not even a big Transforemrs collector, but I'm excited to pick up Metroplex and agree with Jay that there's a good chance it could end up being Toy of the Year. Castle Grayskull has a good shot as well, with the only thing really holding it back right now being the disappointment in size many fans have. But everything else about it looks teriffic, and I can't wait to see the final piece! Clam!! What's up buddy?! :-D
  3. LEGO absolutely had some great stuff, no doubt! Jay and I did discuss the possiblility of giving them an award, so they weren't overlooked! I'm loving a lot of the stuff they are doing. The TMNT stuff is awesome, and I'm such a sucked for their blind bagged mini figures! :-)
  4. Yeah, it would have been nice if we could spend more time with each, but Toy Fair is very rush and go. Everything is scheduled, and everyone always has somewhere else to be. Plus, some of these guys just aren't as talkative on camera as I'd like them to be. :-) I understand that they are kind of being put on the spot, so I don't fault them. But Randy at NECA is such a natural. He was awesome. Whereas the guys at Playmates, while incredibly grateful for the rewards, were a little more camera shy I think. :-) Jay and I deliberated for quite some time on each of these winners, and we absolutely took feedback from fans online for our choices. It's always hard to choose winners for stuff like this, becuase of course everyone has their own opinions and tastes. So nobody is wrong in what they feel here, and if you don't agree with us we're definitely not offended. We're not the end-all be-all of toys! Heh. But the winners we chose we picked based on what we felt were the best showings for each category and had the most positive feedback from fans. TMNT was real close to sweeping these awards, LOL. Arguments could have been made for Playmates and TMNT to win each category, honestly. They just did a great job in 2012, imo. But I definitely feel they synched Toy of the Year with that playset. There were some great toys in 2012, don't get me wrong. But that playset is absolutely outstanding for this day in age. It's huge, it's well made, and it's fun. NECA was easy choice for Company of the Year not only for their great product that constantly seems to improve, but also for their amazing fan interaction. Jay and I both agreed upon that pretty quickly, and it was great to see the poll results reflect that a lot of the fans felt the same way. The fact that Randy goes out of his way to always talk to the fans and answer them, even when the fans aren't that nice, really says alot about him and the company as a whole. NECA is pretty top notch in that regard, and that was a big reason for why they won. Property of the Year was the hardest for us to choose. I think Marvel Legends had a really great comeback and showing altogether, especially compared to Hasbro's first go-around. I know that I personally tried hard to avoid getting back into collecting Marvel Legends, but once I got a figure from Hasbro's new line, I was immediately hooked again. As for sculptors, there are a lot of great ones (NECA!), but The Four Horsemen were an easy pick for both myself and Jay. (Hey look...Pixel Dan only picked one MOTUC winner! Wow! ;-) ) These guys work so hard and on so many different lines, and just about everything they do is always impressive. MOTUC, DCUC, Watchmen, and their own lines like Outer Space Men, the upcoming Power Lords (woo!), and their FANtastic Exlcusive stuff...it's all incredible, imo. So, there's my insight! Jay can add anything else to that and his personal feelings if he wants. I just hope you guys enjoyed this! This was out first go at this, so there's always room for improvement in the future as far as the video presentation and such goes. :-)
  5. Winners announced! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHgoJqCflSE So what do you guys think? Agree? Disagree? At the very least, did you enjoy this? :-)
  6. Oh yeah, I remmeber your Moss Man e-mail! Cool! :-D Hehe...yeah, if you were to go back in time and tell me what I would end up doing, I wouldn't believe you. ;-) Like I said, weird how things have really changed! But awesome to see so many familiar faces (err...user names) here! :-D
  7. Tommy! That was a fantastic post man! It's really weird to think that it's been so long, isn't it? ADC was the very first forum I ever joined as well. This place was my first entrance into the online world of toy collecting. Like you, I sppent all of my free time on here back then. That was also 10 years ago for me, when I was 20 years old. Crazy to think how much has changed in all of that time. While I was in New York with Jay a few weeks ago, I said the same thing to him over dinner. Told him it was a weird thought that I meet him 10 years ago when I was just nothing more than a kid with the user name "Mandalorian30" on here talking about toys and spamming the forums with nonsense posts. Somehow from that, I even had a brief run as a moderator here. Heh. I'm really glad I popped on here today and saw your post. Really put a smile on my face!
  8. I'm really loving the IDW books, and I think you did an incredible job at recreating the design in figure form! You did an insane amount of sculpting work there! But he turned out fantastic! Great job!
  9. VERY cool! I was waiting for someone to do this! It turned out great!! Also, on the package... Throws SLime* with *Not Really at the bottom is hilarious!! :-D Great work all around!
  10. Wow! We joined almost 10 years ago?! How crazy is that?!
  11. It's tough, for sure! Always got to find a way to balance it all. But I've never forgotten about this place or you guys! I love it when someone comes up to me and says "Hey, you're Mandalorian30!" lol! It doesn't happen very often, but it's fun when it does. It just happened recently at Power-Con, crazy enough! I still talk to Jay on a pretty regular basis, and visit TNI daily. I just don't drop in tot he forums as much as I probably should.
  12. I'm sorry for bumping an old thread...but I just wanted to say thanks for having this thread here! It was cool to pop on and find this, and see folks who I used to talk to regularly here on ADC/TNI commenting on the episodes. Makes me feel really bad for not making it to these forums more often! It's so hard to keep up and make the rounds to all the forums I should! So thanks guys! TNTS was definitely a fun run!
  13. Pssshhh...I'm easily the best actor around. Where's my Oscar?
  14. Definitely a good thoguht! It didn't even really occur to me how you'd get the plugs back out. I definitely still think it'd be best just to get a regular horse with no holes eventually that we could use for a proper Spirit...even if that does mean we have to buy another one.
  15. He looks terrific!! Well done! I really like this. His helmet was a bit ont he larger side in the film, too. So it's not too bad. Great job!
