Since the live action Gatchaman movie was coming out in Japan this past weekend, I decided to fix up some more Gatchaman characters. I went back and gave Ken another shot, while finally taking a shot at Joe. I'm still not sold on the head choice, but I had it on had, so I wanted to see how it would work out. I wanted to make Jun as well, but couldn't properly work her out. I'm sure I'll go back and give them another shot once I find a better head for Joe, so hopefully she'll be in that batch.

Since the design for both is the same, it made more sense to go ahead and post them together. I sculpted up the boots, gloves, and their belts, then dremeled out the heads to fit. After that it was a pretty straightforward repaint and the addition of a holster to Joe. I think Ken came out a lot better this time.

You can check out more pictures of both in their respective albums:
Joe the Condor
Ken the Eagle

Recipes:

Joe the Condor -

Body - MU Nighthawk
Hands - MU Bullseye
Gun - Star Wars Jango Fett (I think)
Cape - DC Infinite Heroes Batman
Head - Gashapon Joe Statue

Ken the Eagle -

Body - Future Foundation Spiderman
Head/Sword - Microman Ken the Eagle
Cape - DC Infinite Heroes Batman

I'm not sure on the ship. I know Iron Will made the whole team before, and I think he did the ship too. I honestly can't remember for sure. After far as previous releases, I think there's only been one. Gashapon has done Joe and Ken in the small scale statue form, but Microman has released Ken, but that's about it. Thus my additional hindrance with Jun. There may be some more out there somewhere, but that's all I know about currently. Would love to see a release alongside the movie, but I highly doubt that would ever happen. lol Thanks for the comment!

No problem at all mate! Glad you posted a link to it. I was going to, but I hadn't gotten to look for it yet. Thanks for the compliment too!

Nice work on both customs guys....I'm jealous, I wish I had the know-how & time to make some of my own.....hopefully by Xmas I'll have my own little workshop so I can at least have a place to display my figs & maybe repaint a few of the vehicles I have for my Joes.......great job to both of you!!

Hope you get to. It's definitely a lot of fun. And as far as the knowhow, it's a lot of trial and error. For me, at least. So many different styles out there that I had to play around with them until I found my own. But it definitely expands the limitations of your collection! If you need any Joe parts to help you get running, let me know. I should have some spares around. Thanks for the comments, too!
