  1. Honestly I'd rather it stay at DDP, just put some more money into it to attract some quality name writers, or better yet, hand it over to Larry Hama as writer and/or resident consultant full time. I mean let us not forget that it's DDP that basically pulled G.I. Joe out of the gutter and played a huge part in helping make it viable again, so with the upcoming movie, and associated marketing boom that will no doubt go along with it, DDP more than anyone deserves to get some reward for all their efforts and loyalty to the license and the fans over the past few years. My thoughts anyways.
  2. Pretty damn cool. I always wanted a Grell era version of Ollie in figure form. Probably never happen though.
  3. Khan looks great, Terrell is pretty good, likeness wise (and it's very cool to see the late, great Paul Winfield getting a figure), but I think they dropped the ball slightly on Kirk once again, at least judging by that pic. And yeah, I'd kill for a Lt Saavik figure...
  4. Holy crap, the armies some of you guys have is insane. Very cool folks. Wow, these sure bring back memories, I don't collect Joes these days, but when I was a kid I loved these and had a pretty good collection of figs and vehicles myself. And, despite no longer collecting them, I still have a very definite fondness for the old Joe's. Very cool.
  5. I'm guessing it'll be something Looney Tunes related personally.
  6. Yeah that sounds like the one, though I don't know Sydney that well, as I was an out-of-stater...date seems about right though. It was one of the last cons I went to...
  7. I'm too damn poor to even think about army building with DCD, but gotta say, I'd definitely buy a Rocket Red, Detective Chimp, a White Martian (in their regular look), Ambush bug and Johnny Quick double plus quick if they were ever made. Personally most of my most wanteds just aren't popular enough to have a very high liklihood of getting made, but even so, I'd personally love to see: - Jonah Hex - El Diablo - Bat Lash - Scalphunter - Cinnamon - Vigilante (Greg Saunders) - Tomahawk - Unknown Soldier - Wildman, Little Sure Shot, Jackie Johnson and Bulldozer of Easy Company - Mademoiselle Marie - The Losers (Captain Storm, Johnny Cloud, Sarge, Gunner & Pooch) - Lady Blackhawk (the rest of the core Blackhawks would be nice too) - The Doom Patrol (Chief, Robotman, Elasti-Girl & Negative Man...I'd take a Mento and Negative Woman too) ...among others. Maybe if Jonah Hex's series doesn't get cancelled we'll finally see a Hex figure in a future First Appearance type wave or something, don't forsee any of the others happening any time soon though...
  8. It's always good to know I wasn't the only one who had a thing for the good Doctor! Ah, Gates... @loll@ She signed a pic for me when she came to Australia a few years back, though it was damaged in a storm: Funny, I think I was at that very same con, back in the days when Trek cons were a regular thing down here...small world.
  9. Yep, definitely smells like fan film. That said, a GLC animated series, or even live action sci-fi series or movie has a hell of a lot of potential. Hopefully one day...
  10. Yeah Crusher is great, and Q is pretty damn good too. Wesley is merely passable, but I can live with it (if I even buy him).
  11. Yar is a must have as far as I'm concerned, and I personally wouldn't care if that meant that she had a different outfit to everyone else, just as long as the character was made. O'brien I'm sure will get a TNG variant when they do the DS9 fig version of him. Guinan I don't particularly care about personally. And Ro Laren is, thankfully, already on the way, just like Barclay. I would like to see a Dr Pulaski though.
  12. I disagree, I prefer the red version personally, and I'll stick with that. This is still a solid enough fig though, with that same great head sculpt.
  13. Just as long as they remember that they're a niche market line and plan and market accordingly, I don't see any reason why these shouldn't be able to make solidly profitable lines. Also, I think one of the keys to success will be mixing the more well known cult/indie characters in with some of the lesser knowns, and case packing them accordingly. Especially during initial waves where they're trying to get a foothold. Sure Toybiz has a lot of solidly popular characters such as Witchblade, Savage Dragon, The Darkness and Invincible through the Top Cow/Image arrangement, but Shocker seems to have picked up (last I heard anyway) a lot of classic characters such as The Phantom, The Lone Ranger and Dick Tracy, along with cult indies like Kabuki, Scud, Grimjack and Shadowhawk, to name but a few. Like I say, just as long as they're clever and careful with who they make, how and when, and, most importantly of all, just as long as the quality is there, then these have a good chance of being a low level success methinks. We'll see.
