G.I.Joe Question & Answers With Hasbro

The Wire

Recommended Posts

I am SO happy to hear confirmation that the 25th/Modern Era line will continue into 2009 and beyond. I am still psyched about the movie toys (so long as they 'fit in' with the 25th) so this is really, REALLY good news.

Thanks JayC!

I'm excited about the figures and hope to see alot of faves return, especially Golobolus and that sexy Cobra La assassin, whatever her name is. I always thought she look badass. Now, I'm not too hyped about the live action movie though. All the guys wear the same costumes goes to show they must be on very low budget. Looks like X-men with guns. Can't wait to see the trailer though. #US1# #US1# #US1#

FINALLY!!! DR. MINDBENDER!!!! I saw what is supposedly supposed to be a movie vehicle prototype over at hisstank.com. Of course, you can make speculations 'til the cows come home.

There is no supposedly, the image you speak of lifted off the asian auction site is a prototype for this movie vehicle

Very exciting - Hasbro is showing alot of attention towards that gray area between when GI Joe went from 'Good' to 'Bad'... First Battle Armor Cobra Commander, then Croc Master and now Chuckles? Awesome!

The beloved and frequently demanded Mindbender is coming... maybe people will stop asking for him in every other thread. XD

I said it once and I'll say it again - you may not like the movie, and it may be awful, but we as a whole shouldn't support any notion of a spiteful 'boycott' or abstaining from what comes from it. I see alot of "My wallet goes on hiatus when the 25th does" or "I won't be buying anything from this trainwreck" but keep in mind... you're not hurting anyone but yourselves if you intentionally do damage to the success of the GI Joe frnachise.

you will see newly tooled classic vehicles, newly tooled versions of your favorite characters from G.I. Joe Resolute, and a number of favorites you have been waiting for:

C'mon, Airtight!

Dr. Mindbender, Alpine, Tunnel Rat, Alley Viper, Recondo, Outback, Night Creeper, Zap, Shockwave,

Aw, ^$%

and even more!

Well, there's still hope then.

Most of those figures are on the Wal-Mart lists already, and some (Alpine, Outback) even have official promo pics already... but it's nice to see them hyping new characters. I take this statement as acknowledging that the fans want a balance between 'core' and 'new' characters.

Big thumbs-up from me here. :)

I LOVE HASBRO! Wow I can't believe I just said that! Now if they'd only keep releasing lots of Marvel Legends. Hmmm Low Light Wasn't mentioned by the Bro'. He is very popular they MUST be making him soon.

Hasbro hinted that him and dialtone could be coming at the yo joe Q&A

This is a great sign, and probably was put out to answer a TON of what would have otherwise been the same question over and over again! Yes, there is a movie coming out. Yes, we will see predominantly figures released based on this movie. But yes, we will also get our various dreams fulfilled (just a little slower) by getting the figs we all want!

Given the present state of the economy, let them take their time. If you like the movie, and ergo the product, by all means, collect away. If you don't, and want the real deal, it will come.

Either way, we all win! I can't think of anything that would make me happier, other than the news I won a trillion dollars and could have it all, along with a football field-sized house to put it in!

So glad that Cobra's getting their resident Mad Scientist back-- who else is going to head up R & D while Destro and CC are busy with military strategy? The Android Troopers of tomorrow aren't gonna just design themselves, you know! Make's me wonder what kind of Mindbender we're getting, costume-wise. He's had a few different looks and his oldest is really the hardest to take seriously, maybe Hasbro will update his outfit like they initially did for Zartan and Serpentor. Or have they given up on trying to keep Cobra from being silly-looking?

Well, with luck, we will get both the VvV version and the original.

I occurs to me that 'clones' would explain all the repaints... @hmmm@

What, you mean the one who was actually dressed like a scientist? And not just a Victorian S&M enthusist? I'm pretty sure we would have gotten such an important character already if not during the actual 25th A. line-up if the guy only debuted with a better look!

I use the extras as doubles of Cobra Commander and Destro. Either B.A.T.s done up to look like them for the purposes of subterfuge or, maybe, clones.

If you go by Marvel comics, they could be L.M.D.s (or B.A.T.s). If you go by the cartoon, they could be Synthoids.

I am very excited about all the rumors I have heard and seen confirmed. The GI Joe line is making a nice come back.

Does any one think we will see a few of the larger Vehicles released in conjunction with the movie?
