G.I.Joe: Valor Vs. Venom Figures Return?!?

compared to the 25th aniv. versions, these are horrible quality.

I'd say the 25th are horrible in size. As for quality, the previous "New Sculpt" continues the original construct which is similar to ARAH. Though both the New Sculpt and ARAH are obviously different, the overall construction has the same theme- which partly defines to GIJOE figures to me. Aside from that, I miss the weight the previous figures had in this 25th line. People complain about the proportions, like V-chests etc, but I don't mind.

In support of the line though, I will agree that most of the 25th figures look fantastic. The detail and accesories are indeed far superior to the previous "New Sculpt" DTC/VV figures and Hasbro has finally realized the importance of not dismissing their original classic looks to define the characters. Modern renditions are also cool too. Unfortunately, these guys are scaled too big in appearance for the vehicles even though they are retooled to "fit". If they blew it with the figures, starting out too big, don't be cheap and retool, make some dang new ones like the Millenium Falcon.

I still like the previous "New Sculpt" figures though. To me, they are updated ARAH in overall appearence, but obviously not in traditonal character depiction. They are just simply modern, like the comics (DDP). If the contruction continued, perhaps we may have seen the long awaited classic depictions in "New Sculpt" with the love and detail of the 25th.

Some clueless people seem to think these are the "Deth of the Line" (especially at another forum). Like Hasbro shut down half the 25th factory to make old figures with old paint schemes.

Are there that many newbie collectors out there? You know there was a GI JOE relaunch before the 25th line. Yeah, while some you had yourselves knee deep in Transformers or Star Wars or whatever, some of us were buying the 2002-2005 line. Yeah, some figures were ugly...(and the newbie fans of that "new sculpt" line were busying griping about how ugly vintage 80's style figures were!)

These are nothing special, just Hasbro selling low cost figures to what amounts to retail outlets that cater to low income people. It's not all about you, collector.

BTW, Mattel has been doing this with Batman Animated figures, Playmates with micro Turtles and Hasbro with small transformers for years now. Most of them lines/sublines that have left major retailers years ago.

And to go with that, Hasbro has been offering "cheapy Joes" since 2004. I'm still convinced they did fresh production ones of the third batch (from which half this range of figures is taken from) for last year's Christmas season.

I hate that old and tired line...."DETH of the LINE!" whine and cry that the obnoxious and nerdly types of this hobby, think is cute. Time to drop it already, it's like shouting "YEEEEEAH BOYZZZZ!!" or "WHAZZZZ UPPP" (which they all probably still do). If they're that sharp, think of something knew. <_<

Wise, wise observations and right on, especially the "it's NOT all about you, collector" comment. I know I'm probably about the biggest complainer of things amongst the crew here, but I'd hope that i don't come across so selfish in it? I realize while I'm not particularly thrilled with everything that comes around or goes down in the hobby of collecting G.I.Joe's, it's not all about me, and others usually like much of the stuff I'm complaining about, and I'm not necessarily trying to DEPRIVE them of said items and whatnot, by griping so much that HASBRO might actually consider taking it into consideration and killing the line for MY benefit, which seems to be the paranoia that develops when we compalin too much. I don't think that's quite going to happen, so I rant away.

Because i don't like or want something, doesn't mean i want it to go AWAY, just like these VvV repackages. I HAVE all those figures (minus the better packaging) so i doubt I'll pay much mind to'em, but how does one conclude that it's going to REPLACE the 25th stuff? @hmmm@

Well, don't just STAY there! Keep lurking back OUT! :)

unless these show up at KB, like the other VvV single packs did, which certainly do not cater to the "low income people."

it's more about just getting out cheap product that parents can buy for a couple of bucks for their children without thinking twice, and getting kids to play with G.I. Joes.

I'm mostly interested in the fact that the Tele-Viper art is clearly the 25th Tele-Viper made with the Viper parts.

I saw these at KB the other day and was like....WTF?????

However, they did not have this new card art and i did not see that tru beach head.

They were different packaging than the ones released a few years ago however...thinner.

Maybe I'll take some pics? Maybe its overstock? I was shocked to see them though....too pricey for me ($3 something) when I used to pick them up so cheap at the dollar stores around town.

LOL. The figures look nothing like the cards. It's obvious that these figures are designed for bb guns practice.

Welcome. Obviously they don't because the figures were made before the artwork.

I checked my Dollar General today. All they had were 3 VvV black uniform Baronesses for $2.

They're not exactly gathering up the cream of the crop on these though..are they? That must have pulled these out of that big bag of crap JoeRyhno filled full and sent BACK to hasbro for recycling...into better stuff.

I bet hasbro has huge tubs full of these figures just laying around in their factories/wharehouses in china. if i were an under payed Chinese factory worker i would break in and swim in the oceans of crappy gi joe figures that no one really wants...
