NY Toy Fair 2015 reveals

Crow T Decepticon

Recommended Posts

I really don't like how any of them look to me they look nothing like there old school stile and who the heck is Rook never hear of him and why isn't Groove a leg. The Construtcons are about the only ones I really like and Streetwise all the others are trash looking.

Looks like a big year for Transformers G1 collectors.

Now we are talking Hasbro is in the good direction for the original fans of the Transformers brand.

I would love to have Cyclonus and Devastator from this wave.

Ultra Magnus vehicle mold look very preskoolish

I really like the vehicle design actually! Looks very futuristic and properly Cybertronian to me. The unpainted wheels hurt the overall appearance though. Looking just a little hollow in areas as well (but could be worse).

I also think the pegged on wheels for the Constructicons look a bit cheap. I thought Hasbro knew we didn't like those by now. :P

Great more for me. Don't make fun of me if I like Defensor. I think he looks great.

What I like about Leader UM:

- Love the vehicle mode, glad they were basing on the G1 car carrier style and not the MTMTE vehicle. That cab looks like a bull dog to certain degree, very menacing kind of remind me of the 2001 RID UM cab. Not sure which I like more the vehicle or the robot mode.

- 2 laser rifles combine the missile pod to form the hammer is purely genius. This design should be a standard weapon for all future UM figure.

- All weapons can be store both on the robot and vehicle mode, very nice.

For the robot mode:

- I am very happy they gave him a white thigh, hope it stays that way. Not a fan of the red thigh since the ancient G1 Marvel comic day and even now. Also glad there was no wheel on the forearm like the IDW MTMTE UM.

- The chest plate/ cab open out assembly is very neat. If it hadn't been for Ambus, this would've been his Matrix cavity. I'm not a fan of Ambus, so he's staying hidden in the chest, so it's a win-win for everyone.

My nitpicking;

- I just wish his crotch was blue, that would've been a perfect Classic/Gen UM for me.

- Just wish the missile pod width was a little bit smaller and match UM shoulder length. Right now, the over size and hollow part exposed out looks kind of bad at certain angle.

- Just wish the shoulder post was a little bit shorter.

Overall, it's a good compromise, not too much IDW or G1. *Until they gave him red thigh, then I may change my view, muhahaha*

If it weren't for the dual missile pod and Ambus figure inside UM chest, I would've easily say this CW Leader UM falls under G1 UM.

They have caused some interest in this former Transformers collector.

I can't wait to get the Protectobots...I loved them as a kid but never had any. I think my little brother had Streetwise, but that was about it. I think they all look great. Figuring out how to afford all this stuff is my next step... (lol)

Oh wow. I didn't realize that lil guy actually integrates with UM til I saw additional pics. Had to look on TFWiki to find out who it was.

I edited out the hot linked pics. I also edited your links and changed them to links to our sister site http://tformers.com/

You can see ton of Toy fair Transformers coverage there. Please know we try to keep links to "in house" sites as much as possible. Hope you understand and thank you for jumping on the excitement, I have a feeling this is going to be one of the best years for Hasbro Transformers in a long time.

So far I am really liking the Combiner Wars figures. I dont expect or want them to look just like the G1 toys, however I do think they should do a good job paying homage to them. So far it looks like they are doing a good job of that. They may not be hitting it 100%, but I am seeing more effort out of Hasbro that I have in a long time. I just hope they release enough of them. I hate paying to much at online stores or getting reamed on eBay.

I hope they do a Wildrider I want him for my Stunticons and not that Knockout or what ever that one that is taking Wildrider's place.

I still like the Protectobots/Defensor, but I do admit that he lost a few points with me when I realized that Rook, who I never heard of, is a 6th Protectobot and that Groove is a chest piece.

If I had to guess new things like this will be characters in the idw comics

I don't read those comics I don't like the drawing to them. I can't tell who any of them are they look nothing like the Transformers I know. The only comics I read where the Marvel ones and Dream wave or what ever that other one was.

Hyperbole like that is why I find myself less and less interested in forums. Too many people jump from, "I don't like this" to "its garbage." Not liking something doesn't make it garbage. It just means you don't like it. It's OK to just not like something and move on. Something that does what it set out to do is not garbage.

Groove isn't a leg for the obvious reason of a motor-cycle being smaller than cars. I guess they are going someowhat for scale for once.

There is a Wildrider in TRU's computer. Seeing as how Takara remolded one of the Aerial bots into Slingshot (also in TRU computers) its seems pretty likely we will be able to get both of those guys. Maybe they will even tool up a Groove. If they did though, its pretty likely it would share tooling with an Afterburner since it seems Computron is coming down the line.

How do you like Viper, the Cobra Rattler homage?

It looks pretty cool!

I always wanted some kind of pack figures based on the cross over episode Only Humans from the Transformers...
