Vehicle Voltron...

Recommended Posts

BBTS sent me an email saying that they're removing vehicle Voltron from their site because they got a cease & desist order from the people who own the rights to the show. Here's the email as I received it:

Hi - Today we received the following information from IPAssure Brand Protection Services LLC - a law firm who works with companies who own Intellectual Property rights.

(Begin Quote)

I represent Classic Media LLC and its affiliated companies (hereinafter "Classic Media") with respect to certain intellectual property enforcement matters. Classic Media is the owner of numerous trademarks and copyrights related to its business. In addition, Classic Media has the right to manage and license the VOLTRON intellectual property, and also has the right to conduct enforcement efforts on behalf of the owners of the VOLTRON intellectual property.

It has recently come to my client's attention that you are offering a VOLTRON Vehicle for pre-order sale, which is unlicensed given that Miracle Productions no longer has the right to manufacture products relating to VOLTRON. As such, my client demands that you immediately cease taking pre-orders for this product and remove the listing fromwww.bigbadtoystore.com

Please confirm by return email that you have removed the listing. Should you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me by email or at the phone number listed below. Thank you, in advance, for your cooperation.

The demands made herein are made without prejudice to my client's rights and claims, all of which are expressly reserved herein.

Sadly, we will be removing this item from our site and cancelling all preorders. We do not wish to engage in any legal wrangling with Classic Media LLC or IP Assure. I offered to attempt to obtain an license so we could bring these in an officially licensed fashion, but IP Assure was not interested in pursuing.

Again - sorry for the bad news on this item - it is out of our control and we would most certainly be sued if we continued down this path.

Sincerely,

Joel

It's really too bad because it looked pretty cool in the CollectionDX video. I was willing to spend the money on it since I couldn't get Comic Con tickets this year. Guess that's more money in my pocket.

They still have the license, but only for asian countries. We will see this at big bad and such after release as an import. And you guys must not collect chogokins, the price is the same. I own a few that cost up to 300, pricey I know but thats the game and there is a fairly large high end collector market for them. And dairugger is high on alot of peoples list, so the price wont hurt this.

RobotKingdom.com has a pre-order page up for it. It says the release date should be Dec 2012. I hope it sticks this time. $249.99 is the price. A truck load of die cast so it might be worth it if you're a diecast fan.

That's alot of diecast. Even Ginger's Red Jet will be diecast.

I know I posted some of these already but it made a nice group shot and I don't think they ever released a picture of the 3 Group Fighters before.

$250?? Hell no

I'm having a problem with the new Castle Greyskull being $200

You can see where the price tag is coming from in the diecast picture. That's going to be pretty heavy. Plus its going to be nearly 2 feet tall when assembled. I would say if you bought those MattyCollectors Lion Voltrons it would be near the same price if you add all 5 up.

Yeah but that was over a period of months not in one lump sum

True. I guess it comes down to which Voltron you like. Since I've always liked Vehicle Voltron more than Lion Voltron this is a "I MUST HAVE IT!!!!!" for me. Hopefully Vehicle Voltron sells well enough that we may eventually get a Masterpiece Gladiator Voltron. Hopefully without the 6 arms.
