How do you use the boards?

Hey all, I was just wondering, how people use the boards when they log in. I don't mean this to be snoopy, or anything like that. I was just wondering, and mainly to get a sense how others do it, but what do you do after you log in? Do you go to your profile, see who commented on your posts?Do you have a certain section bookmarked, and only go there? Do you just start clicking sections that you like and then threads that you like? Do you just come here for one reason, and that's it, or do you linger, and next thing you know, 2 hours went by and you still haven't done the dishes like you said you would(oops)?

I was just wondering and thought I'd just out right ask and see what you guys did.

When I first log in, I take care of any messages or new activity that pops up on the top right little box. I then check the status updates. After that, I tend to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the main page right above the names of the users that are online, there's a clickable link:

Today's active content

I click that, and see all the recent topics, and then from there, I click on through and see what has been said. Then if I'll search the boards and certain sections if there was an older topic I was looking for.

I actually just started using the active content link late last year, I'm not sure if it was always there, but I thought it was a cool option and now I use it everyday. That's kind of what led to this whole topic, just wondering what other people did when they came here. Thanks in advance..

I'm on my phone right now synch, so I can't take a screenshot or anything, but if you go to the main forum page, scroll all the way down to the bottom where it shows the members that are online, if you look right above their names, you'll see a couple of links, the first one is the active topics one,the other one shows moderators, one is top posters, etc. Hope that helps,if not, I'll see if I can take a screen capture of the area and highlight the link when I get home.

Ive been much less diverse in my thread choices nowadays so I typically check out most of the video game related topics and occasional marvel anymore. Action Figure collecting has slowed down significantly for me lately due to prices and lack of quality and anything exciting. Not like they used to be at least. :\

Well, usually it depends on what I'm building. Then I have to decide what measurements I want, 2x4, 1x4, etc. And when I'm buying them, I check for bowing and knots. I usually get them pre-treated, although they're a little more expensive that way...

Oh, you meant the message boards! @smilepunch@ I'm just kidding man...no, I just log in and check my favorite spots, although that's different now since some of them have been combined. My top ones are G.I. Joe, Star Wars, Transformers, DC, Marvel, and General Discussion. I wander into the Masters of the Universe one every now and then, but it's not a regular, and of course I'll check my messages right away whenever I get any. I sometimes do a quick "drive-by", then other times it's like you said Joe...before I know it two hours are gone and I wonder where they went. (lol)

I hop straight to the Joe forums first, then occasionaly hit up DC, Marvel or the General discussion, depends on my time. I'm currently working on a paper for college, so I'm reading and typing more than i should, and that happens a lot!
