She-Ra Princess Of Power Figures Coming in 2010

Finally I get to vent on Mattel: The 2002 line was awesome, an incredible comeback for MOTU bringing in the Four Horsemen. But Mattel decides to pull the plug on the cartoon and the figures for whatever reason. Thankfully the 4H put out the 6" staction figures which I absolutely love!! But then my Kobra Khan and Faker get cancelled!! Come to find out Mattel wants to release another MOTU series based on original designs and sell them for $20 each instead of the $8 the 2002 line sold for. What a crock!! I dont care what they do, but cancelling the staction figure line was the final straw for me. I will never again support anything MOTU or Mattel related again until the BS stops and the staction figures continue. I have been a fan since the first release in the early '80's and I cannot support any merchandise or website that doesnt feel the same way. Thanks for reading my gripe.

While I understand you're upset over the end of the staction figures, as I loved them as well, do you own either of the new He-Man or Beastman figures? I bought He-Man and I completely love the figure. It is easily worth the $20 price tag and in terms of quality is miles better than the 2002 line. I bought several of the 2002 figures, and I had paint application issues as well as wrong limbs. The style of the figures are different than what the classics line is, and personal taste is not something I cannot argue with. The stactions were great, with style similar to the 2002 line and the quality of them was near perfect. However the production costs were high, due to limited runs and the distribution was horrible because stores didn't know what to do with them, so I can't understand why you would not support MOTU and Mattel. The stactions are not coming back. They never will. To Mattel, the stactions were either a failure or just simply the past. And while toy companies are going back to previous lines, the lines they are going back to were popular in their original incarnation; GI Joe comes to mind. So, pining for an old toy line and withdrawing your support for a brand in this way does not make sense to me.

They really need to do a good job on She-Ra. I think the convention exclusive was missing something, being essentially a 2003 Teela with a Barbie head. Too bad they can't go with her Filmation look since I think it was her best so far and most recognizable to the casual fan. I just hope she has a closer sword to He-Man's which isn't gold.

Oh, and again Matty made this statement first on Facebook-- if your on the 'Book, befriend Matty Mattel and write on his wall. Toyguru permits critical remarks and often comments.

I only just bought an MOC 1980's She-Ra the other day! ripped her straight open ofcourse to display by her brother.

2002 version was ok, her face was nothing special.

Looking forward to adding PoP to MOTUC, it will be good to have more of a female line-up than simply the 4 main ladies from MOTU (Teela, Evil-Lyn, Sorceress & Queen Marlena).

It is a real shame about no Shadow Weaver, Scorpia or Madam Razz. Though I'm sure Mattel will get around to buying the rights to Shadow Weaver at some point in the future, she is very popular.

Honestly I can't say the MOTUC figures are worth $20, the DCUC and Jakks Deluxe Aggerssion action figures sport the same articulation and cost far less. However MOTUC are quality toys, very hefty, thick, you feel like it's a great toy.

In the long run, $20 + 8 S/H per month isn't going to break the bank, and I'm not thinking "gotta catch them all!" so it works for me, but all said and done $20 is alot of money for this kind of action figure compared to what is out in the market currently.

Yeah, the price is my only complaint with MOTUC. I don't think DCUC are worth $12, either. DCUC should still be $10, and MOTUC should probably be $15 at most.

I'm hoping that if MOTUC takes off, they'll either hit retail and lower the price or just lower the price period.

My fear is that Mattel will see they're selling at $20 and refuse to lose that profit, ignoring the fact they might get even more buyers and make more money in the end if the figures were more affordable.
