M.A.S.K.

Recommended Posts

ok, so with all the other awesome toy lines of the 80's getting some new show/toy love like:

Transformers

Thunder Cats

MOTU

TMNT

GI Joe

Smurfs

even the 80's iconic Pac Man has a new show!

Why can't M.A.S.K. get in on the action? i think it would do pretty well. it's still got the potential to make a great show, not to mention that 3 3/4 figures are still hot at the moment, so why not cash in?

anyone else like to see a fresh take on M.A.S.K. ?

I definitely want to see M.A.S.K. action return. new with classic.it would work so well with kre-o. Also, why did nothing go forward after the Matt Trakker gi joe figure release? I bought mine asap, and was so excited. But nothing else came of it.

I do remember Kenner doing a toy line similar to M.A.S.K called Vor-Tech which came out in 1996. Evidently there was a cartoon associated with it as well. The line didn't do all that well. I too was a bit surprised that nothing came of Trakker being added to the GI Joe line back in 2008.

Yeah, I thought maybe the Joe Trakker was a test figure to see if there was still an interest in M.A.S.K. since perhaps Hasbro had acquired the license when they absorbed Kenner. Good grief would I ever love to see a return of M.A.S.K.!

Does anyone know when the actual 25th anniversary of MASK would be?? or maybe the 30th?? seems like a cash cow they could milk for abit if Hasbro played their cards right....I'd be interested if it was done in an classy manner.....

I have a feeling they will do a SDCC exclusive crossover with GI Joe... They already have the Matt Trakker figure...

that would be ideal. i really hope they cash in on the oportunity *fingers crossed*

hell, they could evee take M.A.S.K. straight to the big screen without a toon. that might actually be the best way. all the parents who remember it from the 80's would totally take their kids and it's a cool enough plot that it would attract a lot of non traditional fans. i'm sure it would do well at the box office and then they could reverse it and make a follow-up cartoon. if they made a friggin battle ship movie, than why not ths?!

If it's Kreo how am I supposed to fit my 25th Ann. Matt Tracker into something that small?? (Hiooo, lotsa innuendo today)....I'm not a big fan of the Kreo stuff so I'm Pre-complaining(similar to Pre-ordering) Hasbro & it won't even cost you a dimes worth of shipping......So Hasbro if your out there, I'm praying "1:18th scale is just all right w/Me"......I don't care what they may say I don't care what they man know.....1:18th scale is just alllll right w/me....

I think it would have to be in a smaller scale if Hasbro was to do it. Imagine what it would cost to do vehicles in the 3 3/4" size. And forget getting Boulder Hill. We know how much Hasbro hates playsets.

Now there's an idea. Do the line in it's original scale, maybe even using the same tooling. As I remember, that actually worked out pretty well for Hasbro when they brought back G.I. Joe.

yeah, that could definitely work. especially if they added a little extra articulation and detailing. maybe some knee and elbow joints. i would buy into that. it would add to the nostalgia factor too.
