We have another Q&A session coming up for Hasbro's G.I.Joe brand team members. We get to send in 3 questions so if you would like to post a question for us to possibly use, post it in this thread. We have to send the questions in by noon on January 4, 2010 so I am taking questions till January 3. Answers will be returned on or around Friday, January 15th which we will then post on the TNI news section.

1) Is the Sigma 6 IRON Hammer mold going to be modified to accommodate 3 3/4" scale figures or is a whole new mold being made of the vehicle, only larger?

2) Are any other vehicles from the 2.5" S6 line being considered to be remade in 3 3/4" scale (Night VAMP, Street Razor, Talon)?

3) When will we see previews of the mecha vehicles that both Joe and COBRA will be getting in fall 2010?

4) Are there any troop builder sets planned, either general release or retail chain exclusives?

5) Activision recently announced that they were developing a new Transformers video game, not based on the TF movies. Are there plans for any new G.I. Joe video games, not based on the ROC continuity?

6) What studio is animating the new G.I. Joe animated series, currently in development?

Well, geez, I'm surprised this on ehasn't been asked:

(1) What is the status of the Pursuit of Cobra line??? When can we preorder some new figures?

(2) Less a question, and more of a comment. Hasbro needs to make the whole situation with "Best of the 80s" right. They need to offer at least Alpine and the last of the MASS device to their loyal customers. I know I for one will never participate in another one of these "Build a Device" schemes again if they will not allow people to get these sets. I have 2 of each of the first four sets (which were purchased priomarily for the MASS Device), and have looked endlessly for the fifth with no success. VERY angry about this one.

1. are you going to release or even re release some future joes in a different package, such as a" resolute packaging " like the first ones we saw, or are they going to be in the roc packaging from now on till the line dies down a little?

2. i would very much like to see a special line made for extreme collectors. 3 3/4" figures with so much detail and great paint aps and articulation thicker necks and a but load of accessories (fantastic quality control) with like a 3000 product limit per character. i would pay $40 bucks each. would such a line be too costly. or has it been discussed before?

What is the possibility of a mass market rerelease of a less detailed or toned-down version of the SDCC '09 James McCullen XXIV figure?

It's a shame to not have a movie accurate version of the character readily available to the public. Sure the SDCC set is reasonably priced and available online, but it is FAR too nicely packaged to open up Destro XXIV and put him along side my other ROC figures! I'd happily shell out $6 or $7 for a lesser version of the same figure in regular ROC or POC packaging to open up and display. I'm sure many other collectors feel the same way! Thanks.

I wish I was where you are! I haven't seen any of the "Best of the 80's" sets anywhere!!! I'm not even really mad about the figures....I just want a completed MASS Device. If you can still find some.....Hook a brother up!!! I've been to 3-5 TJ's and Marshall's in the past 4 months and have found nothing but "The Revenge of Cobra"/Wave 1 sets.

1.- Will Hasbro continue qith the 25th Anniversary toyline, or at least figures based on the comic books (Marvel, Devil's Due and/or IDW)? There are plenty of characters that haven't been produce like Cover Girl, Rip Cord, The Oktober Guard, Low Light, Jinx, Frostbite, Black Out, Barrel Roll or even cobra troops like the Saw Viper, Frag Viper, Toxo Viper.

2.- There are rumors and/or ao official announcement about a new G.I.Joe cartoon. If is right, it is going to be like Resolute or something less violent (For kids)?

3.- Is there any plan to keep going with the comics packs?

1. In the last Q&A, you stated that the Pursuit of Cobra would hit stores in "the back half" of 2010. Does that mean the products shown at Joecon last year as part of the Pursuit of Cobra theme have been delayed? Or is that product still considered "Rise of Cobra" product and will still ship in the first half of the year, with a full "rebranding" in the later half with product that hasn't yet been unveiled (and probably won't until Toy Fair)?

2. It seems the cat got out of the bag regarding a 26 episode G.I. Joe series currently being in the casting stages. Will this new series follow its' own continuity or be a continuation of an existing one (Rise of Cobra or Resolute, for example)?

3. What's the final verdict on Rise of Cobra? Were the movie and toys successful enough to secure the future of the G.I. Joe brand, or did they underperform and once again put G.I. Joe in "bridesmaid" status compared to lines like Transformers and Star Wars? Are we going to be looking at "25th Anniversary" levels of production and distribution next year or something more substantial?

I'd really like to see this question asked (in these words) assuming we don't get Hasbro's typical non-answers. It would be nice to know whether they have any intention to return to the classic designs.

This question has been asked in every single freaking Q&A in some form or another. THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY/CLASSICS LINE IS DEAD AND THERE ARE NO CURRENT PLANS TO BRING IT BACK. This has been said over and over and over again. Just because people don't like that answer doesn't mean it isn't answering the question. There may be "onesies and twosies" of classic-deco characters popping up from time to time, but they're not coming back as a full line anytime in the forseeable future (which for Hasbro means up until mid-2011 or so).

Hasbro has been dead-on consistent in reinforcing that "Rise of Cobra is the focus for the forseeable future."

This, THIS, AND THIS

Video games are the wave of the future I'd love to see a good joe game. Movie games are almost always doomed to fail because of the need to rush em out quickly. Here's hoping!

I know not everyone reads all of the news or Q A s but this has really been put out there.

It's a wasted and bad question. We need to be careful that we don't waste them, and we have in the past and it's no ones fault really. Maybe it would help if we made sticky with all the questions and Answers for the year (and no posts, just a list w/ links) and everytime we ask for new questions, point folks back to that.

part of the reason we get non answers is because of OUR QUESTIONS.

I doubt they will answer this one either. Even if worded a little more... in a butt kissing way. I don't recall them admiting sigma six was a flop.

whats with all of the reused heads?

They are just going to say something to the effect of, "to save money will being used to bring you a variety of characters."

I know we occasionally want to hear something like, "We are a lazy," or "we are less creative than you" but it ain't going to happen.

Specific Character questions rarely yield good results either.

I sound like a big negative guy here, sorry! i just think we should use some strategy to get the best possible info.

I think Mekk z' s question about a game,

Activision recently announced that they were developing a new Transformers video game, not based on the TF movies. Are there plans for any new G.I. Joe video games, not based on the ROC continuity?

and Jmaqa's

Are great questions that we might get a little info from.

New Logo?

It might be worth asking about? If this is true and if so, why they felt the change from the movie logo was needed.

I think the movie logo was the best thing to come from the movie.

i think people are asking do to the rumors they been reading, like on hiss tank and other sites, and from what i read the line was to comeback with iron claw, LT stone, and there may have been more of the extremes in the line, but they were nothing more but of rumors, so the more they read it the more they think it will come back, & who know, they just may, and Hasbro wont say nothing. it wont be the first time that has happen..

I've seen pics of the Iron Klaw proto. Things like that are always a round, a few unmade figs some plans that didn't work out. Who knows if the last round of 25th had sold faster maybe, if the roc movie had been delayed, maybe but nope, they just aren't happening. I remember hearing about the guy who won the contest to get his figure made in the steel brigade pack saying there were new protos in a box, jvc style that he got to see. I think he mentioned a new 0-ringed wet-suit. Those didn't make it out, and never well, it's just the nature of the bussiness.
