So...judging by this trailer...

Hey, isn't that all any fanboy needs to judge ANY movie? One trailer? :D

I'm not as much a fan of the new suit, and I'm sure the Falcon will take a lot of heat for the all-black armor (because the original open-shirt, white and red was such a winner  ). All that aside, this looks great, IMO.

I personally loved the trailer for being a short trailer it showed some good things:

1.The Commander Rogers uniform looks better than I thought it would and the first outfit is making a comeback.

2.The scene with Falcon looks cool let's hope the final product ends up being good.

3. SHIELD agents have more personality in this movie than in a certain show.

4. Last but not least the Winter Soldiers looks awesome once again let's hope he ends up being the great element in the movie.

- Black Widow looks like crap... she was so much hotter in Avengers and Iron Man 2.

- Captain America's new Christopher Nolan inspired suit looks ridiculous.

- And what's a movie like this without a huge ship/vessel being totally destroyed while crashing into the ocean... it just adds so much epicness... NOT!

Overall, this movie looks like another attempt to make superheroes "more grounded" and will be a fail IMO.

The footage was too fast, was that the suit from The First Avenger? I liked that one better than his Avengers suit.

I'm pretty sure it was, fits with a rumor I heard about the movie.

not just that they want it rooted in reality, but that the didactic messages they want to stress have already been done too often, too recent, even in superhero films.

Hey, isn't that all any fanboy needs to judge ANY movie? One trailer? :D

how about "judging by this trailer AND THE TREND OF CURRENT MARVEL MOVIES DUMPING SECRET IDENTITIES AND HAVING THE SUPERHEROES WEAR MASKS FOR JUST 2 MINUTES OF SCREENTIME?"

hey, could be wrong about the latter, but its a good bet.

Anyway...more screen time for ScarJo and Sam Jackson could not be any less appealing to me.

Liked the trailer, not sure if I'm sold on the Commander Rogers suit. The only thing that really has me put off is that Evans looks a lot thinner in this then in the first movie or Avengers. Granted he bulked up for CA and even in Avenger he wasn't as big, but in this he looks pretty thin compared to the other two times he's played the character.

Make up your mind you either criticize the mask or lack of, fyi he never wore a mask with the Commander Rogers outfit in the comics so the ladk

Make up your mind you either criticize the mask or lack of, fyi he never wore a mask with that outfit in the comics so the lack of mask is actually comic accurate plus pretty much everyone saw him without a mask in the NY battle in the Avengers movie so technically there's no need for the mask. I understand you are a Marvel hater and can't resist but either find some new better material that's not a picture of a stunt double or move on.

Thinking about Cap, what's his purpose for wearing a mask? Everything he loved and knew is dead. He has nothing to lose by his enemies knowing his real identity. I'm not saying I prefer him unmasked, but it was just a thought I had.

Not to mention that he's a hero of WW2 and a historical figure there's a good chance they didn't kept his identity out of the history books.

It has nothing to do with criticisms of lack of costume use, or comics canonicity: the helmet, which we assume is just for motorcycle safety, is funny lookin. His costume/helmet in his first movie was excellent in comparison to he redo in Avengers, and moreso compared to this. If it aint broke, dont fix it.

Even if he's not going to wear a headpiece long, when he does, we have seen it look better already. That just my opinion. Id hope my collection of now 90s trash comics, Toy Biz earlies, and Marvel Legends have at least afforded me that. no need to be an overly sensitive Marvelite.

Why not state this argument in the first place? you do bring a valid point and I agree with you God knows I always hated the helmet in the movies that's why I actually like when he's not wearing it. That said the way you go always about it coupled with the criticism you lay on Marvel on other threads, well no offense but it makes you come off as a hating troll even if that's not your intention but it sounds like that. So you can understand why I react the way I do. Anyway that's your opinion, I'll respect it and move on now.

on whole, I do hate Marvel movies. Hell, I hate DC movies...I dislike comic movies more an more as they have taken on the entertainment responsibility of the several film genres it has overtaken. But only because I have such deep love for the material underneath. Do people call their overbearing parents, always wanting the best from their child, trolls? And not to be a total monster Dad, things can be 'good enough,' compromises can be made, and the best efforts will be rewarded. but on whole, but it makes it hard to make any case with reason for dissent if the "troll" screen if already thrown up like a brick wall. Like this one, having just been made after ignoring my comments that you took the time to read and reason with:

Gosh, what an utter shock to find the usual suspects didn't like it.

I'll give them one thing though: they're certainly consistent in their anal-retentive fanboy expectations being completely untouched by any semblance of reality.

So, thanks for taking time to read, ask questions, and be civil, Belmont. I do appreciate that.

to the rest of ya...if ya'll think im trolling on Marvel, you should see the #$##-storm i give to Star Wars. Again, deep love, wanting the best out of something, for the name, for myself, for other fans...Id rather have all or nothing than to settle for mediocrity and tarnishment of golden memories

And i know it wont stop...If im a troll to the drooling masses, so be it. Im okay with being banned here by the time Episode VII hits if i can just get one or two people to reason...all movies have flaws...even good ones...but the point is that fans need to be less thinskinned about the cracks in the things they love and keep on loving them: I always bring up the Apple Jacks kids...when asked why you love something with problems, "we just do" (or in the interweb speak "TROLL!" doesnt win battles of reason.

You are all better than to settle for mediocrity in your entertainment, especially in this economy.

If you really want to try to do what you're saying in the last post, you're going about it the wrong way. Instead of coming in a thread and being overly negative, and posing silly pictures and one liners to go with them, and then waiting for a couple people to jump on you, and then, explain you're doing it for the better of the geek world out there. Why not start out with actually explaining why you feel the way you do, actually put forth something worth reading and explaining why it is you don't like this, don't like that.. hate this, hate that(come to think of it.. do you even like anything, or ever say anything positive?)... If you came out and started a thread or post like that, people wouldn't think of you as a hate mongering troll. But when 99% of your posts are negative and you don't explain why, or you don't even try to start it off that way, you just look like a troll.. and in a way, by interwebs definition of a troll, you are.. you just want to get a rise out of people, posting the way you do.. if you really wanted to educate people and try to change the betterment of the geekdom, then you wouldn't do things the way you do.

That's the main problem I personally have with you. Like this thread here. You already have stated on a number of occasions you don't like the Marvel movies.. yet, you feel it is necessary to start a thread about one of them, just to bash it. When people call you out on it, you're not "bashing it", you're just hoping you bringing it to our attention, will some out make us wake up, see the light and all of a sudden, "WE'RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT... NO, WE AIN'T GONNA TAKE IT... WE'RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT.... ANYMORE"... get out the pitchforks cause we're headed to Disney to stop the madness and bring geekdom back to the geeks, get it away from being mainstream and back down to everyones parent's basement, where it belongs... @hmmm@

You're not going to change anyone's mind to be honest.. and you certainly aren't going to change any minds of the masses that do enjoy the movies the way they are. Like I said, if you really wanted to get into discussions, actually start one, not just throwing out the same hate filled speak you usually start your posts out with and people would actually take you seriously... I hate to single you guys out, but you and MCM are two of the most negative people on this board, more than I've seen for a long time. Nothing pleases you guys and almost everything that comes from you guys posting is negative... I'm not the only one that notices, going by the few posts here and in other threads.. that alone should tell you guys something... ;)

maybe not, but i can get along with those that compromise, like Belmont above. You on the other hand...another shouting "troll" from the drooling masses.

and with peace above between two differing opinions, you still feel the need to chime in...you are just as much an instigator as I am. Moreso...I can be given warnings and bans if you feel I step on your toes.

I'm gonna bet there are at least some ties/mentions to Agents of SHIELD in this movie. Regardless of what you think of the show at this point, I think that would be kind of cool. You don't see a movie franchise tied to an ongoing TV show that often (X-Files did it). That would be another feather in Marvel Studios' cap.

I'm ok with that as long as none of the show's cast appears in the movie well except for Agent May. As it is I'm happy with just Fury, Widow, Falcon and those 2 at the beginning of the trailer. Now if the show made a reference to the Winter Soldier and he had like a cameo assassinating someone SHIELD was supposed to protect then that would be cool and the kind of thing the show needs. On another note they didn't show neither Crossbones or Batroc which means this movie still has a few surprises.

I for one like what I'm seeing in the trailers. I wasn't too keen on the Commander Rogers suit at first, but it's quickly growing on me.

This film looks like a quasi-sequel to The Avengers, and that's all I was hoping for to begin with. Looks awesome so far. Incidentally, I never ever thought I'd see Robert Redford in a comic-book movie.
