Man I hope they find a way to release the unleashed version of him, I love the containment version it's different has lots of details and is heavy, it's great plastic and definitely worth the money.

Just holding him in hand you get the feel of a sturdy fig. He's the best large fig since Lobo.

Guess they lied....

@loll@ @loll@ @loll@ Absolutely classic Mattel. Can you even be mad at them?

The lie about the SDCC Doomsday being the "last" figure was to get people to buy it and hold off on the one everyone wanted with every intention of making him. Yeah, they "changed their minds" and now suddenly produced a full stock of Unleashed Doomsdays just a few short months later? How many times have you heard companies tell us how long takes to produce these? But Mattel will be ready to sell these by Christmas? Absolutely classic! I would actually say it's fitting that they end the line like this. @loll@ @loll@ @loll@

Please tell me that no one is surprised by this. Please!

It looks like their plan worked... Its funny how Mattel keeps fooling people over and over...

"Funny" really is the word.

If you love the toys Mattel puts out and realize the crap they pull and are still willing to play along, fine, your choice. But if, at this point, you're still sitting back shocked and appalled when they pull something like this, there's no helping you. Playing games has been their MO for years!

How much do you want to bet this figure ends up being at least $10 more than the SDCC version?

The way Matty has made the fan-boys crawl for it, plus the fancy diorama base, I'd say that's a conservatrive estimate.

On the bright side, the crap they pull is now a considered a fact of life, so guys like me who've been saying this for years are no longer "conspiracy theorists, paranoid or haters.

We're just . . . smarter. :D

At this point I dont care if they lied. All I really wanted from this line was a good Superman and Doomsday. I had boycotted the SDCC figure since they were not releasing the only version of the character that anyone actually wanted. I mean, who cares about a version that literally only appeared on a few panels??? Saying that crap was "fan demanded" was a joke. The funny thing is I just got the last Terrax build a figure parts I needed to start my Doomsday custom! I guess I'll be selling terrax on ebay now.

I think that fan demand and Scott continuing to push for this is why it actually got released. I cant stand toyguru but I dont understand the hate here. He's given me the action Ive waited years for. This is literally the pinnacle of my collection (I know its lame), so that buys alot of good will with me.

I also lifted my ban and bought the sdcc version on ebay once I heard this news.

don't know why they would lie and i don't care. I was going to buy both versions anyways. The first version goes on for a few comics and not just a few panels , I just reread the death of superman. They have to keep things under wraps until it has the green light. I for one wanted the 1st version, and if they are liars that means hopefully I can still get my DCU classics Ms. Martian released. I wonder who you guys will focus your hate on next year? @smilepunch@ I mean they work on getting this though and instead of people cheering, they get booed? I'm happy as long as I'm getting the figs I want.

what would they gain by lying and knowing full well all along that they were going to sell? I can't tell how many people were geeking out when they were picking up their Doomsday fig at comic con, is the theory that the 1st version wouldn't sell? cuz that's bs. Its funny I go to comic con and everyone loves Mattel, applause and cheers at the panel , I come back here and everyone acts like they killed their dog , so glad this will be over soon, just please guys don't move your hate to NECA @firedevil@ it's still pretty peaceful there @loll@

That's an interesting way to look at it. Do you think it would have happened had Matty not sold all of the Contamination suit figures they had?

People have a right to be frustrated about being misled into buying something they didn't really want.

I really like the contamination suit, but had we known that we could get one over the other...no contest. Even though its a great figure, I feel that a bought it under "well, it's better than nothing."

I'm reserving the hate for the price point. To hope that this Doomsday will cost the same as the first is naïve...but anything over $50 before shipping is a crime.
