2009 SDCC Day 1: 'Superman II' General Zod 12" Figure From Mattel

A lot of folks have commented on the burgundy trim, and the folks who made this are not "dumbasses" (at least not as far as this figure goes, anyway) for including it. There are several scenes in Supes II where you can see the dark burgundy in the trim, and yet, in other scenes, it looks black. They apparently went with the scheme with more contrast.

Some folks might want to actually check their facts before calling names.

I looked it up just in case, smartass troll. The trim on his outfit is black so google it and shut up.

Sometimes it seems that some posters want to be banned

The two trolls are ultra new too. There is a picture from when the 3 jackasses are in that small town the sky casts a blue color on the shiny parts of their outfits. The figure's outfit is inaccurate though, maybe they wanted to bring an homage to the comic version of zod because he has red and black on.

Ironman what is up with the name calling?

I put up a post saying they got the outfit wrong and casually said the word dumbasses and then two new people come out of the woodwork and take shots at me. The guy tells me he just popped the movie and and said the outfit has red on it. I think he was high at the time. Maybe they are the same person who knows. I think the discussion is pretty much over with though.

I have seen some of the original phantom zone criminal costumes on display in Metropolis Illinois. The colors of the Zod "doll" costume are correct. And by the way, it looks just like a Tonner doll.

They have the actual movie costumes?

The Superman Museum in Metropolis Illinois has actual costumes from the Superman movies and shows. It's a very cool place to visit. It's been years since I visited the museum. I hope by now they have some cool Alex Ross prints for show. It needed a gallery badly.

Did you not see the post saying this discussion is OVER? Get a clue. What could you possibly get from seeing it in person?

Seriously though seeing the suit in person probably gives someone an, ahem, unique perspective. Oftentimes fans and collectors go apenuts over what they think is wrong and it turns out they're wrong. Happens with Sideshow stuff all the time. You think they forgot something then you go to the source material and its dead on.

From my POV the suit was allways black I never seen a hint of any other color in it

But to me it looks cool on the figure since he is the very first General Zod figure I have ever seen

The suits are all black, if you google general zod and or superman 2 they even show a blue color on the glossy trim which originates from the sky. If there is any red it's from set lighting not the suit itself. I could easily say I saw Elvis Presley at my local airport. Claims without pictures doesn't do any good.
