  1. Also found this. http://www.alice-dsl.net/micha.friedrich/LOTR_UK/LOTR_Bad_Packs_01.html The boromir and aragorn you speak of are indeed in this set.
  2. I know of a few random figures that were packed on error cards that have been speculated to be bootleg or possible production samples. Personally I have no idea which is true but it seems they came from the same factory as the toybiz figures and I have heard reports that they were originally found in random discount shops in the UK. Quality is on par with the Toybiz figures and the card* quality is identical quality although most are misprinted (*EDIT: I mean the stickers are misprinted, the cards appear identical to the normal release). Figures I can confirm are Minas Tirith Citadel guard, Prolouge Elven warrior and an Eowyn (with a weird head) all with army type knifes and packaged on a card with their image but the name Eomer on the sticker. All figures are missing all of their other accessories. I believe I have seen other figures of this type with the correct name but can't confirm as i never bought them... but anyway thats all I have heard of. Your figures might not fit this type of figure but so you know what i'm talking about here is my Eowyn... or commando Eomer in drag if you will. So check again to see if they have the same army knife.... if they do then they are from this random series and thats all I can help with. And if not I am sorry. Hope someone else knows more.
  3. Just a few WIP pics of a new figure, still have to paint the eyes the scar and blackwash. Base is a Spiderman/king aragorn. Both figures were cut in half mid torso and glued together with parts of Goblin armour Frodo and an orc overseer attached and scuplied over. Head is an extensively modified gollum with mail sculpted on over a looooong time. Also repainted and changed a couple of the figures from earlier, will take a new group shot when they are finished.
  4. OK, I just had an amazing score. A local second hand shop had these in stock for $20 each... they were the only carded figures they had although they had a few half moon gollums and a couple other TT figures for $45 each... yes they had no idea. But here is the problem.... I don't have one of these guys loose!!! But I'm finding it difficult to crack one open due to the relative rarity of the figure (even though he is now the most common carded figure I have). What do you guys do in a situation like this?
  5. Thanks. I'll post a picture with a few figures maybe tommorrow but it's late here so not tonight. However both are around a head or half a head shorter than an Aragorn figure. Also this morning at an opp shop bought a Orc Overseer for $1 and my girlfriend not wanting to troop build him I combined him with the fodder of the previous two figures plus some ML bullseye forearms (heavily cut back and reversed). I also hated the head so gave him a haircut front and back. Only parts not painted are the eyes belly section and teeth. And not a very good photographer but used the flash to try and show a bit more colour in the next pic... the actual figure isn't glossy, it just shines because the paint wasn't fully dry.
  6. Just thought i'd share these somewhere but since I couldn't find a dedicated lotr forum for the toybiz toys I'll give you guys the privelage of checking these out. AXEMAN The head of the axeman is from the Moria door that came with a Sam, it is left unpainted but I may redo the eyes to fit in with the other mordor orcs. The axeman body is made from The samwise goblin armour figure with his shoulders cut and extended with screws leather and sculpey. His hands are repainted from gollum. His torso is stripped of his original armour and replaced with leather. His feet, axe and loin cloth are borrowed from an orc archer (isengard). The thighs are sams but extended with screws and sculpey. The helmet is a beserker uruk-hai drybrushed lightly and then marked with the red eye. The red cloth is a painted chux cloth. SWORDSMAN Base figure is a Frodo in goblin armour. The Face was made from a Gollum who required cutting, sanding and minimal sculpey to differentiate him enough to look like an orc. I originally just tried repainting the face but it looked simply like a green gollum and not threatening at all. helmet is an extensively modified Gimli helmet and the forearms are from the isengard orc archer figure. The gloved hands are from a random Spiderman and the legs are Spiderman/Goblin frodo legs heavily smothered in sculpey and superglue. The sword and sheath were from a random babarian figure I aquired. The wings on the helmet and skull on the knee pad also come from the same sword. Both figures will be modified later again as more ideas come to me but I am happy for now. Hope you enjoy
  7. Would have bid on 2 of those auctions but you don't accept IMO's.
  8. These things are definately still out there and have only just started appearing on shelves out here. I just got off the phone to my brother in Sydney and a TRU had tonnes of packs on shelf and was able to get 2 packs for me and another 2 for himself with plenty left back on shelf.
  9. Over here the rarest figures seem to be razorfist and the foot fire mystic. Nobody I know in my country has seen one on shelf yet so it may be simply that they have not yet been released here. The Nanotech Monster was seemingly impossible to find here for ages but he's been appearing regulary now as Iv'e seen about 4 of them this week. And on the topic of nano, apparently theres some button on him somewhere that does nothing, some of us were wondering if there was a feature on the figure available in the US that was omitted over here or if all the figures worldwide are that way.
  10. Thanks heaps T Dragon, I must have been searching for at least half an hour for that on google.
  11. I'm guessing that you mean by what you said was that my post was a bit confusing. Sorry about that so heres a more straight forward explanation of what I'm after. What I'm looking for is a link to a standard red cobra symbol online which allowed you to change the background colours from blue, to black etc. You were also able to change it's size to your liking and then print it out. There was a thread on here ages ago and I can't find it and I'm hoping somebody here has the link to it.
  12. I used to have this cobra symbol image generator bookmarked on my old computer before it bit the dust. It allowed you to change the sizes and colours and print them out. I know there is (or at least used to be) a thread on here about it ages ago but I just can't find it so if anyone know's the link could I please have it. Thanks!
  13. Who knows, utrom skin may be hard as rock and more resistant to such incidents than what it appears.
  14. MOTU sell for roughly $12-$17 au over here which is about $8-$13 US??? These guys have also appeared from what Iv'e heard in different stores but I have not seen them yet. - Snake Hunter He-Man - Sky Strike Stratos - Zodak - Roboto - Mekaneck repaint But like Iv'e said I have no idea what's been released over there with you guys in the States and by the sounds of it some (if not all) of the figures I'm listing have already been out in the States.
  15. I was just looking at the General Veers that came with the AT AT and was thinking it was about time they redid him. I'd love to see him done in his Executer Uniform with a removable hat so you could put grey Snowtrooper armour on him as well as his battle helmet, that way he's be two figures in one. I can only hope.....
